The first thing the owners of Rustic Gardens Golf Center will likely tell you is that this is not what is commonly known as Putt-Putt. Located on the southeast side of Indy, Rustic Gardens actually was born all the way back in 1924. Ownership has changed hands and the name these days is actually "Rustic Driving Range & Mini Golf." First off, pricing: $8 for 9 holes (takes around 45-60 minutes) $13 for 18 holes (takes around 60-90 minutes) $18 for 27 holes (takes about 120 minutes) Kids under the age of 3 are free. Club rental and ball included. Rustic Gardens offers private party space at their 9-hole and 18-hole course and access to the course comes with event rental. Reservations are recommended, though they can occasionally respond to short-term requests. Rates are from $150 for 2 hours (9-hole course) to $300 for 2 hours (18-hole course) with additional hours available. Check their website for the full details (I'm adding the website to the listing). Rustic Gardens also has a men's league and a women's league along with a Fall tournament. Rustic Gardens is a mini vision of a 27-hole golf course. It has natural grass, obstacles, and trees. Nearly every other mini-golf place in Indiana is a Putt-Putt type place with turf (generally easier). This course has some holes well over 75 feet - most holes are par 4 with some par 5 (with Putt-Putt, par 2 or 3 is a standard). Rustic Gardens indicates the course is disability friendly, though I'd likely disagree with them. Some holes are definitely not. I would agree that an effort has been made to improve access and I think those who are generally mobile (even those who are simply very good in wheelchairs) will find enough to have a good time here. Overall, this is a really cool and under-appreciated place in Indy and it's truly family friendly. Employees are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is quite pleasing. This was such a cute place, off the beaten path of downtown. Lots of trees with lots of shade for playing during the summer. Def not a perfectly created course, it's a bit rugged and "rustic" with nature adding natural obstacles, which added to the fun of it. Very unique - a true mini golf experience. I remember hearing about, and going to, my first visit to a so-called 'mini golf' place (a putt putt sort of place). What a disappointment it was to find out it was NOT mini golf at all. Rustic Gardens is indeed that shrunken mini golf course that I envisioned. A family favorite location for all ages. We have been coming here for years now and still enjoy the mini golf set up. We always alternate between the 9 and 18 holes. I do think the 18 hole is more developed and fun but the 9 is cool as well. This is a cash only business so be prepared! It runs between $8 a person for the 9 holes. The course is in need of some maintenance as well as the grounds as they use to have chickens by a little pond and they were gone and the pond was algae filled. read more

My husband and I visited this facility last night and had a great time. It was such a nice place to play mini golf. I had no idea there was a difference between mini golf and putt putt, but I'll be playing mini golf from now on. Very pretty, playing in the grass, surrounded by trees. Rustic Gardens, maybe you've heard of it or maybe you haven't. It's a miniature golf course on the southeast side of Indianapolis with an immense amount of charm. The course is unique in that instead of your standard run of the mill course with unnaturally looking green turf and artificial rocks the holes are designed on the actual ground which give off an organic vibe. The staff could not be any friendlier, and are always willing to chat with you for a few minutes. It's perfect for date nights, or a family outing. I've gone here many many times and always leave with a smile on my face. It's a feel good atmosphere that has been helping create memories for years. They open at the beginning of April throughout the summer and into early fall. It's a favorite summer pastime of mine, and the only place I play miniature golf at. We have been going to Rustic Gardens every summer since the late 70's. We look forward to this every year. Some years the place looked better than others but this year was the worst I've ever seen. We paid more than ever before $12 per person there were 7 of us so $84. Then were told one hole was closed as it wasn't landscaped, well as we went through nothing was mowed, you couldn't see your ball, greens had not been cleaned off for some time, many simple repairs that didn't cost anything other than some time would have been a great improvement. Very disappointed and was told it was new ownership for the last 4 years, looks to me like they are just letting it go. What a shame. read more

Very unique mini golf course; not putt-putt! Definitely have to visit this place. The holes are longer and are on a natural course, no fake greens or decor. Just plain grass, rocks, and some wood. This place is really fun! The 18 hole is a better deal and has more excited holes for only $9/person (CASH ONLY!). You can play 9 holes for $7. It's nice and outdoorsy, with several trees and hills. The bathrooms look like outhouses. There's chickens clucking in a coop near a pond, which feels like you're on a farm (you can feed the chickens for $1). I'd recommend this place to anyone, especially if you like mom & pop type places. read more

This is my favorite mini-golf place ever. The course is challenging without having any fake fountains or windmills. My kids love visiting the ducks, goats, chickens there. This is one of the coolest mini golf courses around. 'Rustic' is a great word to describe it. The place is off the beaten path, just north of the intersection of Arlington and Raymond. If you are looking for a unique putt-putt golfing experience and don't live nearby, I recommend making the trip. Each golf hole is unique - you won't find the typical 'send the ball through the clown's mouth' shot here. The best part is that the play area for each hole is a little bit bigger than what you'll find at the average mini golf course. None of them have those annoying little wooden borders on the edges, so it is even more of challenge to play here! They also have a few ducks that you can feed here, and when I went a couple summers ago, they even had a couple of goats. A mini petting zoo and great putt-putt course in one! I love this place. I've been going here since I was a kid. The green and obstacles are made from natural grass, rocks, logs, etc. which makes it feel much different than your average putt putt. It's really like a miniature golf course. They have chickens, ducks, and bunnies you can feed too. $7 for an 18 hole game or $6 for a 9 hole game. Good, inexpensive fun!!! read more

If you are looking for something different to do, give Rustic Gardens putt putt a try. There's no turf at this 1930s course. It's all grass and homemade obstacles/terrain. The staff is friendly, helpful and just really glad that you came by. It costs $7 and takes about an hour or so to go through, probably longer if you have a bigger crowd. The distance from the tee to the hole is longer than most putt putts, so that makes it a bit more challenging. All in all a very fun evening! read more

Wow! This place is a total blast. Opened in the 1930's it is mini golf, literally. There are two courses one is 18 holes and the other 9. The courses are actually real golf courses on a smaller scale. Played on real grass with greens that are made of limestone dust this place is like a full size course complete with lots of trees and obstacles. Disclaimer, I've only used the driving range. They have a sort self-serve honor system, so you can come in outside of their normal hours if you want to hit before work. Drop money in the box, grab some balls and hit! They have decent grass that you can hit off as well as mats, depending on your preference. They also have good golf balls, mix of titleist, nike, callaway, slazenger, etc. Slightly pricier than some other driving ranges but good balls and grass to hit off of make up for it. read more

A great place for a fun, simple date or a family outing. As a kid, my dad would take me there and now I go with my boyfriend. It's a lot of fun and rather inexpensive. They also have animals you can feed. Goats, maybe? The last time I went I failed to check the weather and it was 97 degrees out so I don't recommend that, but in fair weather it's quite a good time. They have signs up telling you that it is miniature gold and not "putt-putt", which i think is funny. I prefer the loads of trees and real grass over cement and carpeted greens anyway. read more

Me and my Mamaw spent 24 dollars there and they was smoke and yucky nasty bees everywhere. She has COPD and she fried her lungs. They gave her a face mask that was so thin it did not help her, plus she has to move walnuts out of the way for her ball and for her handy cap chair defiantly not Handy cap accessory and the grounds very unkept for put put golf read more
