I don't usually review businesses, especially bad ones. However I got my hair cut at Parlor over a month ago and I still want to cry every time I look in the mirror. I don't recommend going here if you want a short cut. I brought in pictures of an edgy bob but ended up with an uneven chopped up mess. When I called for the appointment they scheduled me with a level 1 but I asked for higher so I got a level 3 stylist thinking she had experience. Nope. The manager stepped in because she wasn't understanding what I wanted. She was rude and made me feel uncomfortable. I Won't be back. read more

I was in today to have my hair done and I've only been to this salon 3 times now. The staff there is all so friendly and sweet and make you feel at home. While getting my hair freshened up a beyond rude a distasteful client was giving her stylist the hardest time. Not ONCE did this stylist become angry or disrespectful towards this client. She came in with nasty brass hair and dark roots and Isabella completely transformed back to a gorgeous blonde again! Well sadly that wasn't enough for this client and she wanted to be in the chair for another 4 hours On too of the booked 4 hours she had already had. All the staff including Isabelle stayed very professional and appropriate. I just wanted to give everyone a shoot out for such a terrible atmosphere and still stayed so kind. It's too bad she couldn't have made her insides as gorgeous as her hair.... So happy I found Parlor Salon! I moved to Concord in June and was putting off going in to a new salon for months for fear of a terrible cut/color. Last night I booked an appointment online at Parlor and was able to get in this morning (so easy!). Right after I booked Heather (the owner) called to confirm and check to see if the stylist might need more time if I had a lot of hair (which I do so it was good she called). Jillian was my stylist and she did such a great job all around on my balayage and trim. It was so fun to just relax in such a pretty place on a rainy Saturday and get pampered. I love my hair and can't wait for my next appointment. All of the stylists in the salon were so genuine, sweet, and clearly talented. I went to Parlor for the first time today and had a wonderful experience. Nicole was my stylist. She was patient, thoughtful, and asked a lot of questions about what I wanted. I really appreciated the time she took and how meticulously she cut my hair. I hadn't had a cut in months and my hair was long (for me) and getting on my last nerve. I've been going to Parlor for several years and always saw, Heather, the owner. I've been very happy with everything she's done from color to cuts. Her scheduled doesn't always fit mine so I took my chances with a different stylist. I made an appointment with Deanna for a glass and cut. When I first met her I was skeptical. Don't get me wrong, she was lovely, but very young and I am not. I went in with long hair and a side part and have been listening to all of the kids insisting on getting their mothers off of the side part (and skinny jeans but that's beside the point!). Deanna gave me a beautiful gloss and we went over pictures I'd brought of layers with curtain bangs. She listened to what I described and told me she could make it happen. This woman was a real pro and I couldn't be happier. My daughter is getting married in Colorado in the fall and I've already booked an appointment with Deanna to work on MOB styles that I can bring to the wedding stylist across the country. The first time I went to this salon there were issues with the stylist. I got to the salon and had a bad color done somewhere else. Ryan started my hair and at some point in the process of correcting the color she left, I can not tell you when she left as she never told me and was just gone leaving me with a relatively inexperienced stylist to finish the corrective color on my very thick curly hair. The entire salon worked together to help this other young woman fix my hair and get it back to a reasonable color, $400 not including tip. I knew that the next time I went in I wanted to have some foils done I made an appointment with Heather, a much more experienced stylist, I know that my hair is not the easiest and while I felt the other person was fine I did not think she had the experience to do what I wanted knowing my hair. When I got to the salon I found that the appointment that I had made with Heather had been changed back to the original stylist (her daughter). I did not say anything at that time, I should have but I didn't. I specifically said I did not want blonde, she added in the foils and I left another $300 with tip, poorer. Within a week of having my hair done I called the salon and talked to Heather, the owner and explained that the foils were blonde and that they were fine when my hair was straightened but when curly they were much to light and not at all flattering. She could not get me in for a few weeks and while I was unhappy with my hair I would live. I also told her that I did not want my appointment changed again and that I did not feel her daughter had the experience at that point to manage my hair. I went to see Heather who charged me another $300 (with tip) and was able to correct my hair so it was presentable. It had been through so much at this point it was going to take some time. I ended up going to another salon and cutting my below my shoulders hair short just to get all the color off. I think Heather is great. I am irritated that my second appointment was changed back to someone who I knew did not have the experience without any notification. I am irritated that despite my calling within a short amount of time to say that my hair was not right I was charged the amount I was charged to correct what was done. I am irritated that I even had to call to request that my appointment not be changed back to the second original stylist who honestly wasn't the original stylist I had booked with but rather the one who took over when the original stylist walked out on me. I am irritated that at the initial appointment the stylist walked out without notifying me that she was leaving. I am irritated that after spending close to a thousand dollars at this salon I ended up cutting my hair to remove the color. I think there are probably some good stylists at this salon, that having been said my experience after the initial appointment was not a good one. read more

Definitely never going back to this place.. they charged me $200 more than they should have on my first appointment and I only found that out a few appointments later. At that point they gave me a $150 discount on the service from that day and the promise that I would get the remaining $50 at a future appointment. They refused to just give me my money back. When it was time to give me the remaining $50 discount, they said I'd get a discount on the haircut. The problem is that the haircut was already free because I had highlights done (according to the hairdresser) so I asked to get the $50 discount on a different service, which they refused. In the end they lost a client over $50. I hope it was worth it. read more

She fit me in right away, was very personable, and did a great job with all of the above. I have been here previously so I decided to take my five-year-old daughter for her first haircut. When we got there there was no receptionist but I assumed someone would be up shortly to greet us. The only greeting we got was from the salon dog. After 30 minutes a stylist finally asked if we had checked in. I told her no and that we would be leaving because I wasn't going to give my business to a place that was so unprofessional. I'm sure they do great work but I won't be back because it's not my job to get their attention when I come in. My daughter left in tears so that was fun. read more

I chose to try out Parlor based on it being the top rated salon in Concord and my favorite part of a salon visit, the offer of wine or a cup of coffee. I scheduled a blow out and gave myself the 30 minutes that their website said the service would take. I have hair just below my shoulders and it is strait and very manageable. When I arrived, I was whisked back to the wash room. Ryan was my stylist. She never asked me about my hair or if I have any issues or preferences. She then shampoed my scalp. I have had blowouts all over the country at every imaginable level of salon. This was the worst excuse for a shampooing I've ever had. She only scrubbed/ lathered the very front of my scalp and the temples. Not the top, the sides, or the back. Mind you, I told her I use dry shampoo, so I get build up. The description of the blow out mentions a scalp massage. This didn't happen. She applied the conditioner and sort of mussed it around and immediately ringed it out, but not well, and not in the back. As a result the roots in the back of my scalp are very oily only a few hours after my service. To give you an idea, I only have to wash my hair once a week because my hair is not oily. When it came to the blow drying she used a cream but never asked me what I use or prefer. She then turned the dryer on the highest heat setting and proceeded to dry my roots by holding it so close to my scalp it was literally knocking me in the head when she moved it. Because it was so close she was burning my scalp, let alone what it was doing to my hair. She did the blowout the same way. It took almost an hour to compleat the service which meant I had to take a confrence call for work while she was blow drying. In the end my hair was left dull, flat, and crunchy?!?! It was worse than I came in with and far worse than when I blow it out myself. It had zero slip. Thankfully I had serum in the car because she never used any or any holding spray. I was not offered a drink or any where to set my purse. The drink really bothers me because it's advertised. Because she didn't fully shampoo my hair a style that normally lasts my 4-6 days lasted me les than one full day. At almost twice the cost of any competitors and after never being asked how i liked my hair styled I would say save your money you can do better yourself. Parlor was a huge let down. read more
