My hairstylist, Chrissy, does an absolutely fabulous job of cut and color. The only slight negative is parking. They have a small side lot which can get filled pretty quickly There is on street parking so if you are going during a peak time, I would allow a few extra minutes to find parking on the street. Had a great time with Jillian! The front desk staff was super welcoming and helpful. Jillian had great questions that helped her figure out just what I was looking for - and she made it happen! She was great and explaining what she was doing and checking in to make sure she was on the right track. Basically my only critique would be better seating in the waiting area. While it all looks super cool, the chair seats are too small for wide hips and couch is too low for tall people. As a big and tall woman, I'm used to those issues tho. :) read more

Been looking around the area for a good salon that can handle Asian hair. I've been to a few where I've asked for layers and end up with a really bad looking cut that rivals that of an overused broom. I don't mind paying extra if the haircut is good so I gave the parlour a shot. Sarah cut my hair and it was pretty spectacular. I chose to wash my own hair and came with it blow dried and ready for a cut. She make my hair look beautiful and layered it nicely and even curled it for me at the end. After the initial cut she allowed me to look over my new cut and point out any changes I wanted. She also asked me if the cut was what I had expected. I appreciated that. Price for a cut wasn't bad and under $40. Would've been more had they shampooed and dried my hair there. The service is great and the staff greet you and offer you a beverage when you arrive. They take credit cards and cash. The only negative I have is that parking is difficult to find. If you need to get your hair styled and/or cut this is a wonderful place in Cincinnati. About a year ago I saw Lillian for a hair extension consultation and have been on the most amazing hair of my dreams journey ever since. Lillian is an expert in the Kacey Welch method and answered all the questions I had (I was completely new to extensions). A few weeks after my consultation I had my new beautiful long hair. These folks really know how to treat 'ya! I came in just to hang with my BFF while she got her hair done on her birthday and was pleasantly surprised when I was treated as well as a customer when, in all reality, I was a freeloader just hanging around. Hell, they even served me a cocktail while I waited. This location is surprisingly posh in the middle of Walnut Hills. The staff is really laid back and everyone feels like friends and it's a super chill atmosphere. They do amazing color, and even stayed my BFF'S hair in a totally adorable braid on her special day. I've been getting my hair cut and colored at Parlour for a few months now, and I really like it! Yes, it's a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. And if you want a unique haircut and fantastic color, this is the place for you! It's worth mentioning that Parlour has one of the most beautiful salons I've ever been in. It's in a very old building in East Walnut Hills, the inside is all big windows, exposed brick, industrial light fixtures, a living wall, and lots of cool artwork. This place is basically set up to make your "I just got my hair done!" Instagram photo as beautiful as possible. The waiting room is nice, service is always very friendly. They will offer you a drink: cocktail, wine, tea, or water, whatever your heart desires. I normally get a glass of wine, but I've had their cocktails and they have all been delicious. Lately I've been working with Dell, but it seems that everyone does great work in this salon. Dell is particularly great at color, and I love experimenting with color in my hair, so he's my first choice. I've been slowly lightening my very dark, permanently colored hair, and Dell has done a great job. I made the plunge and cut my long hair into a bob, and he made it look absolutely beautiful. Root touch up, custom balayage, cut, and blow out for me takes 3 hours, which is kind of a long time, but most of that time is spent waiting for the color. That also costs $200 (plus tip), which, yes, is a lot of money, but by hour it is reasonable for how much work is being done. The salon also does men's haircuts, and it seems like a lot of their clients are men, so this place is not just for women! Parlour has easy booking online. They book up really early, so I would recommend booking at least 4-6 weeks in advance, especially if you need a time after 5pm M-F. Overall, if you want your hair to look perfect and you don't care how much it will cost or how long it will take, I would recommend Parlour hands down. read more

I've been wanting to come here for the longest time. I knew Chrissy a couple years back when she worked for another salon. She mainly did my eyebrows. When she relocated to this salon, I wanted to follow her. With a busy schedule and also feeling guilty to leave my other salon (I was pretty happy and content with my hairdresser), it took me almost 2 years to book. I wanted a haircut that was easy to style since I am always on the go. My hair is pretty long and took me a couple of years to grow it out. I really liked Parlours work with other clients. The styles are very chic, edgy and also natural. I scheduled and booked a hair cut ($50.00) with Chrissy online. She was booked on the days I was off, so it me took a month for me to get in. It was well worth the wait. The day of my appointment, I was really excited and not even nervous because I know she would do an excellent job. It was nice to see her and catch up. I told her that I wanted to get a cut that didn't wear my hair down and with more volume. I didn't want choppy layers either. She was very patient and gave me suggestions. She did give mention layers, but it would be blended in but not too choppy. Before she cut my hair, she asked if I wanted something to drink. I know it's early in the morning, but it was my first day of vacation from work so why not try a cocktail? I got the Manhattan which is a bourbon mixed. My first step was getting my hair washed, then Chrissy started to cut my hair. As she was putting the styling products in my hair, she was explaining why she was using it (she used a two drops of oil to smooth my hair and take the frizz out, alittle mouse, a spritz of sea salt on the root of head to give me volume and last hairspray to keep the style together). The beauty products she used on my hair is "Davines" imported from Italy which is organic and eco friendly. I highly recommend you purchase it. I got the sea salt spray for $27.00 8.45 fl. oz(gives you volume and beachy look) which will last me a couple of months. I would love to get the oil (to tame frizziness and smooth out my hair) and the shampoo/conditioner next time. I noticed when she was cutting my hair how she paid attention to detail and was not rushing. I absolutely LOVE my hair cut!!! It looked so natural (love the tousled beach look) and loved how it framed my face. I'm definately coming back! Even my husband loved the cut! I also love the vibe/decor of the salon! As I now live in Germany and am originally from the area, I was super excited for my Parlour appointment. For years I was an avid supporter and fan on Instagram and wanted a great ombré color + cut. I called ahead of time and asked to speak with a stylist because I have dark brown hair and wanted to make sure they could go as light as I wanted towards the ends, or if I would need to use corrective coloring over the course of multiple appointments. They said it would take several hours but that it could be done. I walked out with a brassy, orange tint towards the ends and when I told Hayley that I wanted a "blunt and choppy long bob" she looked at me and said, "yeah, I don't know what that means." Considering it's a popular type of cut right now I didn't understand and moreover didn't understand her lack of willingness to try to understand. I walked out with an ombré that faded into red and an uneven cut. If I can find an old picture I will post here. Perhaps I just got the wrong person, I see lots of great work coming out of this place and wish mine would've turned out that way, perhaps with a different person. read more

Parlour is doing a wonderful job through the pandemic, keeping the space open, having customers call before they can walk in, always requiring masks and temperature checks and keeping the space clean. Overall the space is very cute with a lot of natural light flooding in, the staff is so friendly and accommodating! There is parking in the back, but it's also very easy to find street parking as well. And the staff is so friendly and honestly fun to be around! Style is more than just par at Parlour. This excellent salon, located on Woodburn Ave in Walnut Hill, is all about making you look GOOD, and it's a job they do VERY well! I've been here a few times before, usually with my lady, and we always enjoy the total experience from start to finish. You're greeted with a smile from the start, and if you'd like to enjoy a tasty adult beverage while you wait for your appointment, they offer a few mixed drinks and wine selections. (They make a good Manhattan, which is usually my drink of choice.) They also have a variety of hot teas if you prefer. The place itself is always clean and comfortable too. All the stylists are well-skilled and you're guaranteed to leave with a great new do and feel great about it. I've gotta give props to Joe, whom I've gone to every appointment, and he always does a magnificent job on my hair. Not only is the experience excellent, but so are the prices. You're not gonna pay an arm and a leg to get a stylish head of hair. You'll look good and feel good every time at Parlour. They're truly a cut above the rest and it sheerly shows. I came in with a pic of a new look (that I was a little nervous to try) and Logan sculpted a look that was halfway between my look and the look in the picture. It was pure magic. What an artists! I also got to see some of her work on men's hair and will totally be sending my boyfriend in to get some work done by her. The stylist who used to color and cut my hair is no longer available on my day off so I tried to give Joe at Parlour a try. Parlour is a fashion forward artsy shop in Walnut Hills. The whole place is very stylish which is fun (it makes for a nice atmosphere). I started my visit with a very good coffee. Joe made an assessment and recommendations. He suggested a shade transition for my hair color and a bit of a different cut. This sounded good to me (at 35 I am still no hair expert). Joe did a fantastic job with the color and cut. He was actually a bit fascinating to watch (now I sound creepy). He seems to be really into making hair an art. My hair turned out absolutely fabulous and I have had a lot of comments since my visit. I have had a couple appointments here and I love my experience each time! I have cut and balayage from Lillian and I always get the color and cut I want. I have really thick long hair and I have had experiences where the layering I need isn't enough so my hair doesn't lay well. When I want a little color I don't want platinum streaks but warm honey color to compliment what I already have. Both of these concerns were actually heard and I got what I wanted! Everyone I talk to is amazed that I had such a horrible experience at Parlour. But I did! I went to Mandy and then came back to Mandy (with owner Jessie's assistance) the very next day. The only reason I came back was for Mandy to correct the mess she made the day before. I asked for blonde ombré (think Lauren Conrad/Whitney Port) and showed her multiple pictures of what I expected. I came out with black hair!! I wish I was exaggerating. I literally was crying when I got up from my chair. Mandy insisted it would get lighter, but even she knew she was wrong and asked if she could try to fix it the next day. I should have known not to trust this woman who just confused black with blonde, but like a glutton for punishment, I came back. Jessie watched as she put in numerous foils and seemed happy with her little stylist's corrective efforts. But both my boyfriend and I noticed she was only adding foils not remedying the black base she had created. We voiced our concern but she promised everything would turn out perfect. It did not! Far from it actually. If black hair wasn't bad enough, now I had tiny blonde highlights throughout my still black hair!! Like another Yelper said, I looked like a zebra! In the end, I have learned my lesson. Parlour sucks! I will never ever be back (although I do feel the need to drop by with my new doo to show them what I was really asking for)! Mandy is a sweet girl (with great ombré hair herself-she obviously went to a real professional).
