I had my garage door installed by Parma years ago. The people were nice and the work was done as expected. The tech cleaned up. There was a minor issue but it was corrected. Stuff happens. I called again recently to get a new opener. I admit that I could have been better prepared with the door size etc but in a couple of minutes I was able to supply the info. I found that the woman who answered the phone was rude. I felt like I was interrupting her day so I politely said that I would get back to her and hung up. I called a competitor that one of my friends used and the woman answering the phone was very polite and answered all of my questions. She gave me a good price for major mfg plus install. I felt bad about the situation because I originally dealt with one of the owners. He was a senior gentleman who was great, so I planned to keep Parma as my door people, but if I can't get through the first call without feeling uncomfortable, I didn't think that I wanted to do business with Parma. I hope that the owner reads this review and corrects the attitude of his help. It's not easy to be in business in this area and a customer's first impression is important. We bought 3 Clopay doors and had a old door refinished for $700 which in less than 4 years needs to be done over. Horrible refinish job. No problems with the order and install. For over a year now, I have asked to get a small screwcap cover for the threshold. It is maybe the size of a quarter and all it does is hide the screw. I went in person over a month ago and spoke to the women about that cover and told me she would speak to Scott the owner. Emailing her the picture below. No call back, no email. Called today and still has not followed up on a tiny screw cap cover. Said she would call today and I doubt she will. I strongly suggest using another dealer for your Clopay door needs. This is the sort of dealer that takes your business and doesn't care about the client after they have your money. No call back, no follow up, no emails horrible communication. Save yourself the headache. I ended up calling Clopay directly and in less than 5 mins the women emailed me the part number of the item I needed and said just go to home depot and order your part. We thought that they were a great company seemed very professional. Came and installed door exterior and interior wasn't closing properly came back out said it was good. As the temp started going up the screen door would not close had to pull shut they came out again and this time had to cut part of the siding to expand the frame luckily were getting new siding. We were going to have them do our front door but after all we went through will need to go with someone else. You would think that the owner would reach out to us and say I'll give you a little break on your front door since you had some issues but nothing. Sorry to say we were not as fortunate as some of his other clients. read more

Having an issue with one of the garage door panels. It wasn't made properly. Took pictures but haven't heard anything. My husband called and was told not to worry they wouldn't screw us and that a call was placed to the manufacturer. Not happy... they have their money but we are not updated on what's happening. Is a new panel getting made?? It's been like 3 weeks. Not happy with the communication no call from the salesman. Called several times for a direct replacement from a panel/sectional door to a commercial rolling door. Easy $8,000+ job, these people couldn't make an appointment to save their lives. "We will call on the day of when we are 30-minutes out". Like I'm going to wait around all day for you. Get over yourselves. Used to use them for maintenance on a large commercial garage too with two large rolling doors, now I'm in control. You lost that account too. Nice job! read more

I had a problem motor with a hurricane shutter installed by another firm on my Rhode Island home. Parma Doors came out, wrote down the model of the motor and said I would get a quote. A week later I received an email quote for $2530. I knew the motor costs around $530 so there was $2000 in labor. I called them to discuss and never got a call back. I continued to call ( 16 times) over 3 weeks but never received any response. I contacted Shades and Shutter Systems ( 1-800-522-1599) in Hyannis Mass. I'm a senior and was completely "housebound" when the spring on the garage door broke resulting in not being able to open the door to get my vehicle out. I contacted Parma door and they had a technician at my house within 2 hours. The young man was courteous, polite, diagnosed the problem and fixed the door , better than it's been in a long time. I called Parma doors because my garage door opener was not working. Thought maybe we needed a new one, but they were able to fix my liftmaster door opener!! They didn't talk me into replacing it with a new one. Nick and Brian were wonderful!!! Nick was so patient listening to all my questions and concerns? He took his time explaining everything to me!!! Wow very knowledgeable for such a young man! What a great worker, very respectful! Brian even cleaned grease on outside garage door from the chain!!! WONDERFUL, AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THESE GENTLEMAN!! Very impressive because you don't find this kind of service often today! I would highly recommend Parma doors for your garage services!!!
