Recently did a trade in for a PRS Silver Sky SE and Dan was super helpful. Prior to this, I've sold a number of things and worked with the manager Kona and a few others and also found him to be incredibly knowledgeable, up front and kind. All in all it's been my go to music shop for buying and selling gear. And I can't recommend them enough. Oh and don't forget to ask for the trade-up offer. I've done it for years now where you sell your used gear and get 10% off something new.

This store is absolutely this worst GC ever visited. Have been trying to stop here as this dump of…read moretown called Beaverton has nothing really for actual musicians. And Portland is not worth going to since the musicians and music stores there are even worse. Had several reasons why it was compelling to create a yelp account and share. Mainly so others dont waste anything by going here. Heard good things about some workers that have been there for a while that work in Pro Audio area. But they obviously were not there during the few visits Ive made. I originally dealt with a few managers, not sure if they are still there since last time I went there, they were nowhere to be found. One was named Carson and the other was from Hawaii--think his name was Kona. Maybe his parents are a fan of a certain beer? Both interactions were completely unprofessional. The first interaction was with Carson and he was not sure of--well much of anything really. Seemed like he knew of amps but when asking specs on a bass amp, he could not find. Kona seemed too distracted or on too much caffeine to bother asking. Then he proceeded to make his way to the drum area and play drums, rather loudly. The store seemed un-organized and hap hazard. Could not get help with tracking down something off website. Next time I stopped in, it was the same story. Did however manage to speak to the guy in drum area who seemed very chill and knew his stuff. Not sure of his name but had long black hair and was easy to talk to. Did not really need anything drum related but was nice to chat with. I actually asked to speak with a manager and waited well over an hour. Kona was the only manager at that time. He really seemed not interested in helping so I eventually just left. The last interaction with this store was in person and on the phone. My family and I have been trying to get my nephew some lessons on guitar and keyboard. I spoke to a guy named Mike who was nice on the phone and the few times when I stopped in to try to sign up, was no where to be found. It was like, does this guy even exist??? I gave it another try with calling and spoke to someone named Hunter who seemed just as clueless as the rest of the store--guess thats a pre req to work there? Had no idea of lesson info or promos--nor seemed interested in helping at all. So my best advice is dont bother driving all the way here to have your time wasted by people that dont know anything about the stuff in their store. Shame that its got like this. Too bad there is no more Sam Ash or Apple Music. Maybe Sweetwater will also get bought by Blackrock and expand stores to provide better experiences to people that know what they want. Your experience may vary but I doubt it. Irwin

I've never been so insulted. These clowns must have assumed they were stolen. "Where'd you get them? Why are you selling?..." Hey pal, I have multiple instruments and these were two I almost never play (as if it's any of their business). They claimed there were problems with both and weren't interested. Now, I have done business with them multiple times, but they can kiss this customer goodbye! I'm not a thief, but these guys are jerks. To prove these were from my personal collection, I've included a picture of my remaining guitars. I ended up gifting the guitars to my niece.

But I came at about 2:45 and the whole place was still dark. Just a thought - maybe have enough staff around at all times that some of your employees can take lunch while others are still on shift? Were they closed for summer vacation again and just didn't tell anyone? Sorry, but I'm all done here. You've wasted enough of my time. At one time Portland Music Co. was the best in the city. Those days are gone. It's better to buy music online nowadays anyway. The prices are often marked down by 20% or more if you get in on a holiday sale or something.
