I honestly almost cried because of the amazing job that the braider did. Her name is Suzie and she's an absolute professional and completely underrated. However, walking into this salon, you immediately feel relaxed - it's clean, bright, and so welcoming. There are huge windows and fun music is playing. Just love it. Tessa was my stylist, and she was truly incredible. Her blonding techniques are INSANE. I am always so nervous and embarrassed by my thin hair, but she made me feel totally relaxed as she did my cut and color. She is super talented and I highly recommend her. The little things here are what make it stand out - a TV is on the wall by the shampooing station, there are tampons in the bathroom, and there's an ADORABLE dog, Ziggy, walking around as the salon mascot! The owner, Maggie, thanked me directly when I was checking out, which was really thoughtful. She also showed me some extension options in case I ever decide to go that route. Toni charges $200 for a BASIC sew in...legit like 4-5 tracks..no take down,no cut, no style,no wash (wash area is filthy- wouldn't want a wash)...JUST install. She gets away with this because there's only like one other stylist in the area that does sew in and not tape in extensions-anyways when she installed my hair she just braided one side then the other side and secured them together in the middle of my head with cheap rubber bands - why she didn't braid a full secure braid across and sew a knot to secure is beyond me...and I wasn't aware that's how she was installing.. so she then installed the 3 bundles of raw Cambodian 30inch hair AND double wefted the hair onto these poorly weak braids. Making is very heavy on already a weak foundation from her lack of effort... lazy -half a$$ - crook- whatever..you know what it is if you know hair. * I didn't buy this hair from Toni - I paid $900 Within 2 wks I had wefts hanging and falling out.. because her lazy rubber band method broke down after one blow dry! If she asked me if it was alright to use rubber bands instead of a proper Crochet knot I would have asked her if it was okay if I paid 50$ for the service seeing how that's a HUGE change in quality and longevity ... honesty I would have taken my hair and ran out the door. She offers to have you come in an pay a "small fee" to have your tracks tightened... but what she means is come in and pay her $30 something dollars to change or replace the 99cent rubber bands she used. My hair was already falling out... A professional install requires special KNOTS to secure the braid so the hair weft can then be properly and securely sewn to your head- NO rubber bands to secure a foundation alone period. If this is not done properly it will end up putting extra stress on your natural hair resulting in massive breakage at the root. She secured heavy long wefts on insecure braid connected with rubber bands in the middle where the most tension and weight is . SMH she's been in this business a long time and YES she's knows better - Not a rookie My hair bundles and her basic sew in service= $1150 and lasted less than 2wks AND caused substantial damage to my natural hair....seriously considered small claims court for the damage it caused my natural hair but Rona hit- And I just will never go back and sharing my true experience-save your money time and hair by taking the drive to MA CT NY and skip Toni

My appointment was for a consult, cut, and color. I had been told she was a good colorist by a colleague. Unfortunately I was not able to find out. After we made the appointment I called Jessie back because there was a discrepancy between the day and the date she had given me, she was very nice and clarified the day, date, and time. After that encounter I received multiple text messages that identified me as having an appointment at a day certain, at time certain. When I walked into the Salon at 5 minutes exactly before my appointment time the atmosphere was about as friendly as a porcupine. Momentarily it was like nobody wanted to validate that I was even there. I identified myself to the milieu and Jessie acknowledged my presence. She was in the process of putting extensions in a lady's hair and told me that "I'm running about 15 minutes behind because I had these hair extensions unexpectedly. I offered to wait in the car because of Covid-19 I didn't want to spend any more time in ANY inside environment with multiple people I don't know, never met. Jessie said OK. Now I'm not a Stylist and I couldn't put in extensions unless I was educated to do so. However being a divorced man with an adult daughter, I am very well acquainted with the fact that putting extensions in is NOT for the weak of heart. It is a meticulous difficult procedure that requires LOTS of time and ATTENTION and combined with a cut and color, well let's say it's EXPENSIVE. I waited in the car for 15 minutes and returned and was very politely invited to have a seat and make myself comfortable. Meanwhile Jessie continued to hot curl and trim and work diligently in the young lady's extensions. After another 10 minutes of sitting it was quite apparent that "Running 15 minutes behind" was wishful thinking. I don't know why Jessie took this "extensions task" on when she knew I was due to arrive for an appointment I had made a week prior and Confirmed Multiple times. Jessie seems very nice on the phone and I'm sure she is a good colorist. I'm equally sure that her time management skills need refinement. I'm so sorry this happened to me. Hopefully my statement of events will save someone else the uncomfortable experience of walking into Hair Envy Salon and leaving without getting the service they are expecting at the time (Within reason) at which they expected to receive it. I give Jessie and the Hair Envy Salon 1 Star because I can't give them ZERO stars.
