Sometimes you pass a restaurant for years and never stop in. Then, when you finally do, you wonder…read morewhat took you so long. That was the case for us at That's Amore last night. My wife, stepson, and I, had a great Italian dinner here! This is a BYOB so we brought a nice bottle of red and started off the dinner with the Eggplant Rollatini appetizer. The eggplant was cooked just right with a nice red sauce. Our entrees ranged from my Spaghetti with shrimp and Broccoli Rabe, to Rigatoni Bolognese, to Veal Milanese. Everything was excellent and we even ordered dessert...the homemade Tiramisu was outstanding! This is a family owned restaurant with the owner being a chef from Sicily. His wife greeted customers and gave us background on the restaurant. People have referred to this restaurant on Yelp as being cozy, and they're spot on. Overall, a fun dinner with great Italian food at a nice location!

Lovely local family-run Italian restaurant in Denville. I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese, which was…read moredecent albeit very standard - nothing really of note. $25 seemed slightly on the high side for this. I also got a side of meatballs for $10, which came with 3 large meatballs in tomato sauce. Again, I would describe the quality as decent. The best part of this restaurant is the nice cozy atmosphere. It sort of feels like you're having home-cooked Italian food in Italy (and not an NJ suburb). The staff are very friendly and attentive and the service speed is fast. There is also a convenient parking lot next to the restaurant. Overall, while the food itself is fairly standard, I enjoyed the casual family vibes of this place, so it gets 4 stars from me.

Bruno's Bistro is a family run Italian restaurant hidden off of Rte. 10 in Morris Plains and is a…read moremust-go. The staff is lovely, attentive without being overbearing, and helpful with recommendations or things to try. All the food is fantastic but what we got this night was: - Calamari (forgot to take a photo it was so good), which are large rings lightly battered accompanied by a gravy boat size holder of spicy marinara sauce. - Special: Homemade meat lasagna - MASSIVE and covered with lots of meat sauce. Unless you have a bottomless pit of a stomach, you will be taking half of this home. - Special: Chicken pecan - unique and fantastic. Two large pieces of chicken along with mashed potatoes and broccoli. - Chicken parm- the pro tip is to get it with vodka sauce instead of marinara. Trust me. You won't regret it. - Rigatoni Torino- their pink vodka sauce is the place to be so that with the peas and crumbled sausage is *chef's kiss*. As an FYI, they do have a gluten free pasta in case that's needed (it's only in penne form, if you care). Fantastic meal. Cherry on top that it's BYOB, so bring a couple of bottles and some friends, and you'll have a great night.

I ordered the chicken rollantini, and it was delicious- it was one of their specials. The ambiance was really nice, and the staff were super friendly. Even though we didn't have reservations, they accommodated us without any issue. It's basically the local Italian restaurant where it feels like everyone knows each other. Plenty of parking available, which is a plus. The only downside was exiting the parking lot onto Route 10 - it's a bit of a dangerous turn.

Rockaway Borough was formed in 1894 from portions of the larger neighboring Township from which it…read moreshares it's name. The name "Rockaway" is derived from a Native American term having various meanings; "place of sands", "creek between two hills", and "difficult to cross". Morris County has 16 Boroughs located within it and you'll find none better and more interesting than the Borough of Rockaway which also just happens to be located 25 miles West of N.Y.C. The Rockaway River runs through the center of Town and has been a historical trout fishing destination for just about every angler with a rod & reel in Northern New Jersey. Department of Fish and Game regularly stock this River with trout as well as The local P.B.A. & businesses which sponsor an annual Fishing Tournament. Winners that catch large trout with removable tags on them receive cash, prizes and local notoriety. Several abandoned mines are located here from years back when iron ore was a major export and there are some folks that have gone spelunking in search of some adventurous opportunities. However, Do Not Call Me to come and retrieve you out of any of these as I've since retired from my spelunking expeditions a long time ago. As my Friend and Yelp Colleague "Jersey N" has already pointed out, the Borough is Full of Amazing local Mom and Pop businesses that help define this Town to be a quaint place that is second to none for dining, shopping, adventuring, and living in.
