One of the best Italian places in nj. Very hard to get a seat at this place. Better to come on a weekday. A small menu but they excel at what they do.

The Pasta Shop is one well oiled machined with delicious food and friendly service. We were able to get the first lunch seating on a Saturday. Before the doors officially open, someone comes outside and starts writing names down on the waitlist and then right at 12pm they call out the party names to be seated. The waitress comes over with a display box to show what kinds of pastas they have for the day and tell you the specials. We ordered two apps and each got a pasta entree. Before any food arrived they also came around with a sampling of cheese to taste. The arancini (rice balls) were a special, it came with 6 small balls and they were very good. Super crispy exterior with a cheesy inside. We also got the kale Caesar which was lovely and refreshing. I got the spaghetti carbonara and my friend got the orecchiette with broccolini and sausage. No complaints on either dish. Our waitress also asked if we wanted bread for dipping and how could we say no! If you don't finish your meal they wrap it for you and you collect your leftovers at the door when you leave so the boxes won't crowd your table if you saved room for dessert (they give you a little tag to claim the proper leftover bag). Unfortunately I did not save any room for dessert but there's always next time! Truly a great dining experience, would highly recommend to anyone.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely and cozy local Italian spot, the staff is super nice and accommodating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating is limited so plan ahead, they don't take reservations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We enjoyed our meal which some mains and apps, and apps stole the show.

This place is a must go to! Last night, my friends and I went there for the first time. I live in New York and this place is in Denville, New Jersey and we heard the food is amazing. We were lucky enough to be in town so we stopped in earlier in the day to get our name on the list as I don't believe they take reservations. Anyway, they had a table ready for us at 5:45 PM for dinner and the staff was so nice and accommodating. I spoke with a number of the waiters (Roy and Vic) in terms of recommendations and followed many of their recommendations - we were not disappointed. For appetizers, we had the absolutely light and fluffy meatballs with the garlic bread and pesto sauce along with the homemade mozzarella sticks. We all loved each of these dishes. Our favorite amongst the appetizers was the meatballs - I can make a meal of those! For dinner, we ordered the pappardelle bolognese, rigatoni with vodka sauce, linguine and clams and a tortelloni dish. I understand the pappardelle and rigatoni are staple dishes and we all understood why as they were absolutely delicious - although my favorite was the linguine and clams - a big-time Yum Yum Yum! I met Roy earlier in the day when we put our name on the list for dinner. He was kind enough to stop by our table a number of times to check in and see how we're doing. Vic was our server for the evening and he did a fabulous job describing the various dishes and providing excellent service. We are definitely adding maybe this restaurant to our list of favorites and need to go back soon. Run, don't walk, and try this place out. You will not regret it. Thanks Pasta Shop for a delicious and memorable dinner.

My GF and I have been coming here for 4 years. The only problem is that we didnt come earlier. One of the few places we look forward to going date night. All dishes are made really well and are great value. We recommend the corn ravioli in the summer, the ziti norcina in the winter, the chicken parm, bolognese, mozzarella sticks, and cannolis. Everything else is great and made well. The only advice is put your name down ahead of time. If not, take out is great. Will be coming for a long time

Date night well spent! My husband and I decided to try The Pasta Shop in Denville for date night, and it was absolutely worth the wait. After putting our name in and exploring the area while we waited for our table, we were more than ready--and The Pasta Shop did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. We started with the mozzarella sticks and meatballs; the meatballs were incredibly tender and packed with flavor, and the mozzarella sticks had the perfect cheese pull. For our entrées, we chose the penne vodka and the pappardelle bolognese--both were freshly made and absolutely delicious. The toasted bread brought to the table was a great touch as well. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. We truly enjoyed our meal and will definitely be returning.

I didn't want into the shop to pick up this order but boy was it delicious! I will say their order ahead feature wins them points in my book. The garlic bread was out of this world and complimented the bolognese so well. The pappardelle was made fresh and the bolognese was perfectly seasoned to complement the pasta. I will be returning soon!

Fresh, high-quality food at this pasta shop! [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a very small spot, but definitely worth the wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The dishes are delicious, and you can really taste how fresh the pasta and sauces are. The service was warm, personable, and made the experience even more enjoyable.

The Pasta Shop just nails it every time. The rigatoni vodka, chicken parm and carbonara are must get entrees. Pasta is made fresh in house and perfectly cooked. Even the side of garlic butter linguine that comes alongside the chicken parm is perfection. We also shared a bunch of starters and loved it all - meatballs, kale salad and mutz sticks. Portions are large and great for sharing. It's hard to dine in, but takeout is delivered hot and fresh. We love it.

Tortellini filled with pork+cheese? (Special of the day)

Been here multiple times but never wrote a review until now. My go tos for appetizers are the mozzarella sticks and the house garlic bread. This day, I got the tortellini special and it was delicious - dipped some of my bread in the... sauce? I also tried a bit of my friend's truffle cream ziti - loved the creamy flavors with some sausage! The rigatoni alla vodka with peas+proscuitto is typically my go to, but sometimes I feel adventurous :) The service is always great (very friendly) and atmosphere is feels busy, but comfortable and welcoming. No reservations -so try to come a bit earlier!

    Chicken parm and garlic bread.

It was really good. The garlic bread and mozzarella sticks were fantastic. The pappardelle bolognese was amazing. The chicken parm was solid, crunchy edges and the browned cheese on top, sauce was good not great. I was surprised by the garlic butter spaghetti, I wasn't expecting to like it but I did! [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as you walk in you smell that wood fire going and it's amazing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All in all great place with friendly and accommodating hosts. Will be back.

Although I've been to several 'Italian' restaurants in the past few months, this has been the first that offered what I consider to be authentic Italian food. This is a very popular restaurant, and we were prepared to wait. So, after requesting a table we walked to the nearby Brewery to sample beers and non-beers as we awaited the text that said our table was ready. At the restaurant, part of a party of 6, I sampled a lot food. The pasta was cooked to perfection: neither over or under cooked. Everything was freshly prepared and outstanding. I especially enjoyed the flavors of the Mascarpone ravioli. One in my party ordered garlic bread to share and I thought "on no, another garlic bread saturated with oil and butter." But it was not. The bread was light and perfectly prepared, as were the mozzarella sticks, cannoli's and everything else. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This relatively small restaurant reminded me of those in Italy[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. It was well worth the wait to get a table and I look forward to returning.

The front of the restaurant is your typical tables and booths, and the in back is a small room for a for a more finer experience. By the walls are tables with 4 or more seats, with two-seated ones in the middle. There was a young group of servers waiting the tables and from I saw, they were doing an impeccable job. Upon sitting I was served with a basket of bread, which I tried to avoid at first in order to save my appetite. This is what I ordered: -Baked Ravioli w/Vodka Sauce: I was served with 5 large ravioli filled with what I believe to be ricotta topped with mozzarella. Since the restaurant is apparently known for its vodka sauce, I had to try it, which my server kindly accepted my request. He even gave me my own parmesan shaker to add myself. The ravioli was cooked perfectly; as you cut it, the ricotta mixed with the sauce, which was already rich and flavorful, and the mozzarella, making it extra creamy and stretchy. I did not have to add any salt or pepper to the dish, though I did a little more parmesan just for fun. After I finished the pasta, I scooped up the remaining vodka sauce with the bread from before and wiped the dish clean. -Homemade Tiramisu: This was by far the biggest slice I have had in my life. It had probably two layers of ladyfingers and mascarpone, at least half an inch thick. Though it was good, it was a bit on the heavier side for. Unlike standard tiramisus where it is dusted with coco powder, here they topped it with mini chocolate chips. I would have rather preferred the former instead, in my opinion. Regardless, I had a wonderful experience dining at Suppa's. I would highly recommend coming here taste their food! It was so beautifully decorated and very lively with music and happy people. The hostess checked our reservations and headed up to the booths by the bar. We asked to be seated in the lower section of the restaurant so we can talk and they easily accommodated the request. The service and attention during our meal were incredible. There were several people filling our glasses, clearing plates and providing excellent service without being intrusive. They brought bread to the table, took away wine glasses since we weren't having wine and brought a delightful appetizer platter of hard cheese, meat, olives and veggies. Yum! I normally don't order many appetizers but our friend insisted since he loves them and likes to share. We ordered the calamari, meatballs and roasted artichoke hearts. They brought octopus instead of calamari, but quickly corrected the error. I'm not gonna lie, the octopus looked really good, I would've been ok w/ keeping it. (I recently discovered how much I enjoy it) the calamari was good and the sauce fresh. The meatballs were tender, not overly seasoned. The artichokes didn't look grilled or the way described in the specials. We wondered if it was a different but it was lemony and yummy a we went with it. See pictures for how cool the 3 looked. Plenty of food and very filling. I ordered my signature Cosmo which hit the spot, chilled and the perfect amount of flavors without being too alcohol heavy. No one else drank but I toasted hubby anyway. I ordered the beet salad w/ nuts, goat cheese and added chicken. It was huge! I had it for dinner again last night. The chicken could have been more flavorful or seasoned better but the salad had a lot going on so it was fine. My friend got the beet salad ( no chicken) and burger which she devoured. Some skinny people can eat! My husband ordered a chicken dish but wasn't thrilled with it. The chicken had little flavor and it was overwhelmed with tomatoes and had raw onion. It didn't look great, but he isn't one to complain, especially if he wasn't paying. My friend got the gnocchi bolognese and added chicken. It was a lot of food and he seemed to really enjoy it! We sat for about 3 hours and were not rushed in any way which was super nice. We were so full but somehow split a piece of ricotta cheesecake and the men got cappuccino. All good. Overall, the appetizers were my husband's favorites ( we were celebrating him) the place was beautiful, the owner and servers went above and beyond, and we had a lovely evening. I will go back for sure. I liked that the menu offered both lighter fares, lower cost items, high end steaks and even one of those cheese wheels that look so cool but I can't eat that much pasta! Go check it out if you are in the area.
