Food as service were really good. We had a salad and veal Marsala and chicken Marsala. Both very good.

My wife and I had dinner at Verde on a Saturday night. It was the first time we'd been here in over 10 years. This is a small restaurant on Rt 53 in Morris Plains. It has the feel of a real local place. The food here was fine. We split a salad and had entrees of Veal Sorrentino and Shrimp Fra Diavolo. For dessert, we split a Tiramisu and had cappuccinos. While this may not be our favorite Italian restaurant, we had no complaints. The food was good, especially the dessert. If you're coming here on a Saturday night, I'd suggest making a reservation as it was crowded when we left. Also, bring a bottle of wine since it's a BYOB.

Excellent Italian BYOB. Attended a workers retirement party. Excellent appetizers (crab cakes, calamari. On main menu Short Ribs were outstanding. Very Courteous staff! Will definitely go back.

Verde was delicious! I ordered some takeout for my husband's birthday and was super pleased with everything. It's a bit pricey, so I don't think I'd order takeout from here ordinarly, but for a special occasion it definitely fit the bill. We started out with cesar salad which came with a generous portion, and lots of shaved fresh parm which is always what I want and need on my cesar. Our order also came with a loaf of fresh Italian bread. For mains we shared chicken parm and the pesto pasta with crabmeat and shrimp. The chicken parm came with two very large pieces. The red sauce was tasty but I do wish there was more cheese on the parm. The pesto pasta was incredibly rich and saucy. There was a generous amount of both crabmeat and shrimp, and the shrimp were perfectly cooked. Because it's a bit pricey I'd probably opt to dine in for future visits. These dishes (especially the pesto pasta) didn't travel as well as I would've hoped. Something so creamy and decadent should be enjoyed fresh and hot! I'm looking forward to that next time.

On a little sleepy back road, nestled in the bucolic hollow of Morris Plains is Verdi. -ver- comes from Latin, where it has the meaning "true; truth. '' This meaning is found in such words as: veracious, veracity, verify, verily, verisimilitude, veritably, verity. Verily I say unto thee: eat here. Bring your own vino and they have everything else for a fine cozy night out. This Verdi is neither a composer nor another word for green. It's a synonym for dining tranquility. Eating in peace sonically while dining deliciously. This place built a hundred gyms! After a rather unpleasant experience an hour before at a far less chic and civilized eatery (captured in another review), I played Google roulette and came here. A quiet spotless hardwood floor with spaces between tables so all could be sufficiently private yet together with fellow diners. I know you're thinking "what's a loud floor?" But I was floored nonetheless how breathlessly discrete it was and with a good number of civilized diners. The lilt of Sinatra in the background was a lovely grace note. Furniture and sound, Savvy? How was the chow?! Penne with vodka sauce - and I asked if I could get the sausage crumbled or cut and the server leapt at the opportunity to provide exactly what my heart's stomach desired. It was a feast for the senses. A mundane choice was made with flare. The cook went out of his way to crumble the sausage and I appreciated that gesture alone greatly. No yelling from the kitchen of "who crumbles sausage?! Is this guy special?!?" That's because I get the verde real sense every customer Is special to them. Genuinely. And cannoli the size of a sugar canoe swaddled in the dove soft clouds of frosting and foam!! A Capachino that you nearly wanted to eat it looked so delectable. And everyone who served me was polite, discrete, kind and accompanying and I felt like I found a private club for peaceful eating and restful transcendence group. What a soft delight in this hard world.

Service... amazing Accommodating! Food is home style which may not be for everyone, but I loved it BYOB!!! NOW THE BEST PART!!!! The price in this economy is a stupid steal!!! I got x1 special appetizer of lobster ravioli, seafood salad (wasn't the best, but good/ doable), and a pasta for appetizers... a lamb osso bucco and short ribs for dinner, dessert for 2 and coffee for $130. I'll do it again in a heartbeat. Loved the atmosphere... not too noisy everything was great. They don't rush me which I love and the service is amazing. There was a nice balance of removing finished plates, but not advacing the dinner too fast. Loved the pace, food, and service. Will be back, you can count on that.... This time with BYOB

Restaurant was highly recommended by friends of ours who we gathered with for dinner. Reservations a must if coming here. The place is not very big in space but they make up for it with the quality of their dishes. The menu is simple and offers a variety of meals that are pleasing to the palate. Place is BYOB and the staff will provide an ice bucket on a pedestal for any wines or beers you may want to keep cold. We were six for dinner and appetizers were ordered to share. Panko crusted meatballs and fried calamari. The apps were delicious as well as our meals. Dinners consisted of a chicken ala verde, two Branzino francaise and Chilean sea bass with a mango chutney drizzle. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we even made room for dessert.

Had a decent meal but wouldn't rush back. Had the beet salad with goat cheese. I thought there would be more greens but if was mostly beets. I didn't take any pictures. The meatballs I would not recommend as they were not good and too salty. I had the short ribs which were decent. Overall I thought the place was ok. I didn't think anyone at the table was raving over their meals. It's a byob just to be aware.

Seafood salad

I had been looking for some good gnocchi and Yelp lead me here! We arrived right when they opened and were greeted by an amazing waiter. To start off I ordered the seafood salad and my friend the Cesar salad. I usually LOVE Italian seafood salad because the mix of citrus and oil blends perfectly with the onions and tomatoes, but this one was super bland and no matter how much salt and pepper I poured it lacked flavor. Things did make a turn for the best during my entrée. I have been visiting Italian restaurants in search of some amazing gnocchi I had while on vacation and I found it here. The Gnocchi was served in a red meat sauce with a little cream. It was the perfect!. My friends chicken francese was not on the other hand. It was very eggy and smelled weird. For dessert it took another turn for greatness with an amazing Tiramisu (I usually hate this dessert), but theirs was amazing and not super strong like the ones I had before and the Cannoli was also good. To go I ordered the chicken parm for my boyfriend and the red sauce was also really good. They offer free parking, and the staff was amazing. One thing that did throw we off was their woman's restroom. They should really look into upgrading because it was kind of nasty. I would definitely go back for the entrée and dessert.

Solid to really good Italian food, and reasonably priced. Service was fine, interior could use a facelift. We'll be back.

We're looking for a location to hold my daughter's 50th birthday party. Do you do private parties?

There was a private party in the back of the dining room when we were there. I would call to inquire, it would depend on how many persons in your party.

Are they open on Christmas Eve?

Open Table shows reservation availability on 12/24.

The Greek salad which i was excited to try was plated nicely in a tower shape, tomato's , cucumbers and feta was crumbled on top. It has plenty of calamata olives, which i thought was generous . Maybe too much , I was missing anchovies and didn't bother to ask about it. The server asked me what kind of dressing do i want ? Greek of course i said. So they gave me oil and vinegar and it was spiced with the right herbs , I don't think you need to ask what dressing goes on a Greek salad , seemed obvious to me. I ate half of the salad , packed the rest . I kindly wanted to bring to the attention. To the chef that there were wayyyy too many chopped red onions . I showed her , who will eat chunks of red onion - it was a miss on the chef - otherwise it was a good salad- I threw out the excess of onions . . . Just a few sliced red onions is fine. The challenges of eating out. I had a feeling who ever chopped the onions was inexperienced . Things should be uniform and light. Some retraining is required. I called ahead to check availability, and I'm glad I did! We didn't have a reservation, but thankfully the manager let us know that they'd have a table ready for us around 7:20pm (it was roughly 7pm when I called). My husband and I were just down the street, so we decided to go ahead and make our way there. Once we got seated, we were quickly greeted by our server, Mike. He was very attentive and friendly! We later learned that it was his second day on the job, which we found shocking as he did such a great job! As for the food... I'll be honest, I was a bit disappointed. I ordered the Eggplant Parmigiana (my favorite Italian dish) and my husband ordered the Risotto Primavera. The Eggplant Parmigiana was not crispy at all, which was super disappointing! It had a great flavor, but I prefer a crispy texture so this didn't really hit the spot for me. It came with linguini noodles with tomato sauce, which was very bland. Whatever sauce they used did not have a great taste to it. As for the Risotto Primavera...it had a RICH flavor to it. My husband said "it's good, but not good enough to order again". I, on the other hand, didn't like it as I thought it was just too rich in taste. The food wasn't the best, but I'm giving them 4 stars because the overall service was fantastic! Everyone was so attentive, helpful and friendly, from the host to our server to the manager. It's rare these days to find a team where everyone is pitching in and happily doing so!

The staff is lovely, attentive without being overbearing, and helpful with recommendations or things to try. All the food is fantastic but what we got this night was: - Calamari (forgot to take a photo it was so good), which are large rings lightly battered accompanied by a gravy boat size holder of spicy marinara sauce. - Special: Homemade meat lasagna - MASSIVE and covered with lots of meat sauce. Unless you have a bottomless pit of a stomach, you will be taking half of this home. - Special: Chicken pecan - unique and fantastic. Two large pieces of chicken along with mashed potatoes and broccoli. - Chicken parm- the pro tip is to get it with vodka sauce instead of marinara. Trust me. You won't regret it. - Rigatoni Torino- their pink vodka sauce is the place to be so that with the peas and crumbled sausage is *chef's kiss*. As an FYI, they do have a gluten free pasta in case that's needed (it's only in penne form, if you care). Fantastic meal. Cherry on top that it's BYOB, so bring a couple of bottles and some friends, and you'll have a great night.
