There are 3 main parts of this property and I will review them as such…read more First is the motel. The rooms have all the basics and are comfortable with two beds. Wood paneling, dated but functional décor. I liked having a microwave, mini fridge, and the sheets and towels were clean. However, there was an extremely strong mildew smell in the room. Our travel mates in the room next door had it too and you could even smell it outside if the wind below just right. The carpet felt damp and one room had a window that could not be closed all the way. No A/C, but the fan provided was adequate. Easy parking out front or in back, and room for trailers. Second is the store. Priced fairly, well stocked, has all the essentials you'd need without going into town. Great place to stop while on the sled of ATV. Lastly is the restaurant. It is small and busy so get there early. The food was excellent, large portions and an overall good value. The service was efficient, food came in a reasonable time, the cook and waitstaff made extra effort to make it special for the kids in our group. The rooms at the country club were only a few bucks more, but were booked. I'll give them a shot next time due to the mildew rooms here.

I googled the directions and Lyndonville was right off the highway. After reading all the reviews this seemed like the best place for the best price. Only $55 with the tax. Plus, it seemed like a family run place and the woman who took my reservation was very nice. Reception is in the house next door to the motel, it seems to be the owner's house. We arrived to find a great little motel - maybe the cleanest one I've ever stayed in. The room kind of looked like a tiny little ski lodge. They had a little binder of tons of stuff to do in the area, wireless internet, tv, mini firdge and a coffeemaker. It was great! Just what I was looking for. Within ten minutes of arriving to the motel we were off to Trout River Brewing for pizza! We left early in the morning so we didn't do anything in the area, but it seems there's lots to do, so I think we might come back. This is a great place to go away for the weekend on a budget! PS. The Yelp listing says this place is closed. But, it isn't. I stayed here in February 2010.

The Friday night that we arrived there a bad storm came through and wiped the power out which we lost heat and of course, the electricity around 11 PM to roughly 5:30 am which made for a very cold night with no extra blankets. A giant tree fell on top of our cabin, I have to say it was very frightening, and my husband, nor myself got any sleep that night, not knowing if we were safe in that cabin. In the morning I proceeded to call the front desk and make them aware of the tree that had fallen and asked if they could send someone over to check out the structure of the cabin. I also stated that I felt we should receive some compensation because we basically lost a night due to the fear of what had happened to the cabin not to mention it was freezing cold.. They did state they would give me $100 back which I think was not acceptable considering we paid 300 a night. I waited approximately two hours and a young man came looked up at the cabin and basically told us he knew nothing about structure and trees, but he would try to find someone to look at it. Two hours later someone from a tree service pulled up in the road about 100 yards away from the cabin parked for about 20 seconds and drove away. We never heard from front desk again to let us know if the structure was safe and they left the tree on the cabin all day and the following night. Needless to say, it was not relaxing in any way shape or form and they obviously didn't care how we felt about the situation. I will say they did offer us to move to a cabin across the way but at that point if I had to pack everything up and move, I was going home. We specifically picked Evergreen because it's the cabin we had been staying in for years. They are just lucky that we were not injured because things could have been way worse for Tall Timbers. Let me add there was an eight foot overhang on the metal roof that could have let go at any moment... had to be cautious to stay away from the edge of the building!!!

We all appreciated how clean the hotel is. Our room was immaculate! Parking was available both outside and indoors, unfortunately, the indoor parking garage smelled like dead mice and the odor lingered in my car for a few hours even after I drove away. I'm hoping the bad smell in the garage was caused by a temporary rodent problem and isn't a permanent thing. I liked using the indoor pool. The hot tub was more like a lukewarm tub but it was still nice. This hotel is in a great location and I walked to Tim Horton's, the supermarket, the pharmacy, and to the downtown area. It's also right by the lake and a park. I loved the view from our room. Since I rarely eat breakfast, I didn't go to the breakfast room but the two other people in my family went and said breakfast was just ok, not bad but nothing special. The architecture of the building is different and I mostly liked it. The raw concrete aesthetic in the room was not to my taste but I did like the design of the lobby and the chill music playing by the elevators. I'm glad we stayed in this hotel!

The room was not what I expected, no warm blankets on the bed, felt like I was in a hospital bed with the cheap blankets, shower only had half a door, making the shower experience a cold one. The food was ok, chicken was chewy. Although I lived in VT and would walk the beautiful grounds of the property, would never stay there again.
