The kitchenette, though dated, was fully stocked with dishes, silverware, a small stove, microwave, and mini fridge. Made it easy to eat the perennial vacation leftovers ;) I didn't really have much interaction with the manager at the front desk, but he seemed very nice and accommodating. Early in the day, he called to check when we were expecting to arrive; when we checked in, he was ready for us - apparently we were the only ones checking in that day. And he informed us that some of the other people staying at the motel - a motorcycle club - were going to be setting off fireworks that evening after dark. Obviously unique to our experience, but we appreciated the notice. Moreover, in the group's shoes, it must have felt pretty welcoming that their planned activity was accommodated like that. (and we did enjoy the show!) The beds were very uncomfortable. The mattresses were thin and the pillows were the least fluffy pillows in existence. My kids enjoyed the novelty of a bunk bed, which was a new experience. However, it lacked a ladder, which was less than ideal. There was a bedrail in the closet, but we struggled to attach it to the bed, there being no instructions for doing so. The water pressure in the shower was very good, but the shower stall itself was smaller than the closet. So despite the rest of my comments being overwhelmingly positive, it's hard to rate our stay above 3 stars.

Needless to say I was accommodated in a room right the way , very welcoming and warm atmosphere. The entire place is SPOTLESS clean , They offer free cookies and lemon water at the reception , coffee and tea are also available all day for the guests. The room was spacious and clean with tons of extra towels and a big refrigerator. They indoor pool is available daily from 5am-11pm and the also have a gym and a game room with a pool table and arcade games such as pinball machine and pac man just to name a few . Breakfast is included and it's served from 6-10am with a huge variety of bagels , muffins , cereal , juices , waffle maker , eggs , home fries , yogurt and so on .. there's just so many things to choose from . And the rooms are also sound proof ?! Cause everything was just so quiet , you could sleep all day it you wanted . And last but not least , the view of the mountains are simply BREATHTAKING.. ....

I googled the directions and Lyndonville was right off the highway. After reading all the reviews this seemed like the best place for the best price. Only $55 with the tax. Plus, it seemed like a family run place and the woman who took my reservation was very nice. Reception is in the house next door to the motel, it seems to be the owner's house. We arrived to find a great little motel - maybe the cleanest one I've ever stayed in. The room kind of looked like a tiny little ski lodge. They had a little binder of tons of stuff to do in the area, wireless internet, tv, mini firdge and a coffeemaker. It was great! Just what I was looking for. Within ten minutes of arriving to the motel we were off to Trout River Brewing for pizza! We left early in the morning so we didn't do anything in the area, but it seems there's lots to do, so I think we might come back. This is a great place to go away for the weekend on a budget! PS. The Yelp listing says this place is closed. But, it isn't. I stayed here in February 2010.

My wife found it online the day before we came up on a busy June weekend. The quick rundown is there's a big converted barn where we stayed. The rooms are clean, rustic and charming. The barn lodge was quiet each night while it was clearly a busy weekend. There's also camping allowed on the site, but the vibe is mature and family friendly. Everyone we met was kind and polite to me and my 9 y/o son. There is a separate shared bathroom and shower facility about 30 feet from the barn. While this may not be everyone's thing, the indoor and outdoor showers are all clean, strong and felt wonderful after a day out on the trails. There is a large shared common area with a tv and nice space to read, which doubles as bike storage if you're rolling around on a $10,000 sled. There's also a shared fridge and coffee there in the am. If you're coming up to bike the KTA trails or just enjoy the beauty of the region I can't recommend the farm enough. It may be my regular place to stay for future weekend trips.

The place is beautiful, the photos do not do the rooms justice, and the breakfast is simply phenomenal. The hosts were really nice and stayed up to accommodate us driving in late. The rooms are well appointed, the bathrooms nice and clean. The grounds of the place is beautiful, lots of wildflowers, and next to a lake. Did I mention the three-course breakfast? Local jams with turkey pate, waffles with lots of wonderful fruits, freshly squeezed orange juice, and a crème brûlée grapefruit. I'm sad I didn't get to spend as much time here this time, but definitely planning to come back for a longer stay next time.

The bed was super comfortable, the sheets and pillows were so deeply cosy, the room had it's own clean, nice little bathroom. There is a fireplace downstairs in a common room that connects to a whole hallway of maps and guidebooks for the region. The dining room is full of light and set with lovely cutlery, white table cloths, lace curtains, so calm and sunny and lovely. The owner will serve you coffee and juice in a champagne glass and then a 4 course beautiful breakfast which by the way, she made. She's happy to tell you about the different jams and preserves, the local cheeses and meats she's using, etc. She's calm and sweet and generally makes you feel at home, without that awkwardness... Because let's be real, I'm not always a fan of the bed and breakfast, sometimes this can be weird with weird forced interactions with strangers and mediocre food made by non-food professionals. The Merry Manor is the opposite, it's the best, so friendly and intimate and awesome, and I'll be back for sure.
