The dealership wanted me to make an appointment to come back and pay them $170.00 for a diagnosis. I told them that I believed some clips needed to be replaced and could I buy the clips from them and I would fix it myself ? The service agent said they did not sell the clips, but, they could sell me an entirely new trim piece that included the clips for $1000.00, plus labor if I wanted them to put it on. I declined. The next week I stopped at a body shop and got an estimate for $700.00. Crazy high for what I thought could be a simple fix. I declined. Later that month I was looking for a salvage part for mother's car. She needed a bumper after being victimized by a hit and run driver. I stopped by T&M Salvage just off Michigan Ave and met Simon and Shean. I found they do body work as well as sell auto parts so I had them check out my car and they gave me a very reasonable price to fix it. I took my car in and Shean worked on it for less than 20 minutes, installing 3 new clips. BOOM DONE !!!! EASY PEASY !!!! I am soooo impressed with Simon & Shean. It is so nice and refreshing to meet real, down to earth men, who possess the intelligence to fix things !!! Especially after dealing with techs, who can only replace parts for $$$$ and can fix nothing !!!! David came to my house and repaired the car and brought it back. Wow what service! The price he charged me for the labor was very fair and lower than any other bids I had obtained. Scammers…read more110% Caught red handed several times for one friggin job, which they had to redo because of their installation, so instead they called Monroe and said they gave them bad parts and got new ones. That's Monroe's loss because the reason the struts were no good was because they left the giant stickers across the top of them and they couldn't seat to the car. I drove my sister an hour on the freeway twice with the car like this, steering all unsteady. They even tried to fake it like they fixed the struts and called me begging to get the car which I couldn't, only to call the next morning and found out it wasn't pulled in until then. So he was trying (desperately) to get me to pick up the car, (I'm sure with they had cut the stickers out, because it had never entered the shop yet. They put the struts in the next day when they arrived. Had I picked up my car Mike would have made up a story about me picking up my car I am sure and kept the brand new struts from Monroe, hoping I wouldn't notice in the few days left I had in my warranty that the car was still unstable. There was also a very serious problem with the rear axle which I know they had their hands on to put shocks on but they didn't mention it to me because they Cherry picked their work. This is the most unprofessional shop, looks pretty shady, and finally pathological liars. I came in for a simple service for my car and to make sure everything is alright. But it turned into a nightmare. I can hear the employees not wanting to work and even telling customers false information, I'm no mechanic but I do a lot of work with service shops and I am a car enthusiast myself. To tell a customer they need to change their fuel pump to be able to get more life out of the oil as well as fixing a thermostat doesn't seem pretty fair. Also telling customers that oil changes may take up to 3 hours to get done? Ridiculous. DO NOT COME HERE PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF! Someone needs to come in this place of business and make some big changes.

I was optimistic about the speedy response until the person on the phone quoted me a price. It was much, much higher than I'd ever paid for a simple repair. But, my auto knowledge is limited. I assumed the parts needed must've been expensive. I agreed, and after several days (apparently they were having trouble getting a part) my vehicle was ready. When I arrived to pick it up I looked through the receipt before paying to find that the bulk of the cost was actually labor. The labor cost was nearly 3x the cost of the parts needed. On top of that the final cost was nearly $150 more than what I was quoted over the phone! I will say that the issue with my vehicle was fixed. So, apparently they do competent work. That's the only reason I didn't give a lower rating. However, I won't be going back. This interaction did teach me a lesson, though. In future I will ask about labor costs upfront as I'm sure I could've gotten this repair done for a much more reasonable price at a shop that charges much more reasonable rates for labor. I would advise anyone thinking of getting auto repair work done at this place to be wary and prepared for the cost.
