I ordered delivery of balloons and other items. First, frustrating that many things were out of stock. Delivery was scheduled for the next day and that went well and balloons looked great. Although I had to make up my own bouquet since their 19.99 was out of stock but their smaller bouquet was available and I filled it in with more balloons which made it more expensive and I just made it to what the 19.99 special would be?! Everything else product wise was fine EXCEPT they overcharged me twice! My order came to 56.06 and I was charged that on the day I ordered. Then the NEXT day, they charged me two times a different amounts for the ballon bouquet which I already paid for!!!??? I called the store and clerk said she will give the message to her manager and they will contact the online ordering department. That is it? No call back if it was done, no info obtained from me? No changes or reversals yet. I called the 800 # on my credit card Party City gave. It would take a few days to give the message to another department( bc holidays which is fine). Came here to shop for Halloween stuff and couldn't find what I was looking for. Noticed that we were being followed by an employee who thinks she's security? We had just came shopping from home goods and tjmaxx and had purchased a reusable bag. I don't know if she thought we were shoplifting but as we left the store she proceeded to leave the store and trail us and began to record us. My boyfriend noticed this and alerted me so we proceeded to come back in and confront this employee by the name of Brynlyn. She then lied in front of her manager, didn't catch her name but she was an older white lady, and sweared she didn't follow us out when she had clearly left the store the second we did and then ran back in. We asked to see her camera roll to confirm that she didn't record us and she refused. We even showed them our bags and receipts to prove that we didn't steal and still didn't apologize. And then a male cashier with glasses and a beanie started yelling at us out of nowhere although he was no where involved in this? This was absolutely humiliating and we have never been so embarrassed. Will be calling corporate. The managers need to do better and not allow your employees to follow around customers and accuse them of stealing. Will never be coming back here again. read more

The worst staffing here. I've been here at all times, early in the morning, mid week around 1pm and even close to closing and lines to checkout are always looooong. There's always just one or at most two clerks on the register. And I've even ordered balloons ahead of time and they've ran late to the point where they haven't started to blow up the balloons till I've gotten here. Whoever the manager is at this location needs to be more present and in touch with his or her store needs because this is absolutely unacceptable and insane. I'd like to give Louise a shout-out for excellent customer service. She made (my and) my toddler's day! We went in a couple weeks ago and lost his favorite dinosaur in the store. We searched for it later that day but we're not able to locate it. The dinosaur was eventually found and Louise made sure to call me! The fact that she remembered and made that extra effort was so touching. It may seem like a small gesture, but to us, it meant the world! She was such a gem to interact with - very helpful and sweet towards us. We need more people as kind and helpful as Louise in the retail industry. Ordered some balloons for my daughter's 1st birthday to be picked up at 1pm, but I called the night before to have them change it to 10AM. The girl who picked up told me she will write it down. When I got to the store, the girl there told me it won't be done until 1pm. I was surprised so I told her I previously had called last night and the girl who answered said she will change it. I did an order online and chose the pick up in store option. I called just personally verify to ensure when I go in that it will be ready including what items were in my order. Is it my problem that the online system does not update what they do have/what they don't, NOOOOOO. I received no email warning me/no phone call nothing. So now I'm out of 45$ and have to wait a 5-7 day business days to receive my money back. I'm worried that I won't even get that back to be honest. This is a mess. And it's so overpriced. Only the ballon 1 & 9 are in stock and those two are the only ones I'll be able to actually pick up in store. And then I get an email confirmation saying my order is ready to pick up with all the items listed?When only 2 actually are. * UPDATE: Initially my experience was ruined by just overall customer service on the phone and the situation. But employee Stephan stepped it up to help ease my frustration when I went in to pick up my items. Thank you so much for doing what you could to help turn my situation around and make it better for me. I needed a basic masquerade masque to decorate for the Yelp Elite event. I was going to be painting and decoupaging them, so I didn't care what they looked like. I checked around to a couple of different party/craft stores and Party City had fully decorated ones cheaper than any others I could find. They were even cheaper than the same masques at Michaels, un-decorated. I stopped by last night to look for vampire teeth. Their costume section is huge. Much larger than the other two Party Cities in the bay area I've been too. Not only did they have the vampire teeth, they had: Sunglasses, weapons, gloves, make-up, shoes, tights, leotards, capes, jewelery, skirts, arm warmers, props, hats, make-up, masks, wigs, candies and decorations...way too much to list. Examples range from a huge bigger than life Devil you can hang, Snow White boots - down to Cheetah print fingernails. They also had a fully stocked goth section. Had I known Party City carried so much in that regard, I wouldn't have purchased much of my costume on-line. Whether you are looking for a costume in a package or one that you build yourself, this place will have it. They even had little skeleton pieces. Sometimes for work I have to decorate for events. These particular events I work at have themes that need to be achieved. My most recent event was themed "Walk down the Red Carpet." Movie themed. The event was being held in Sacramento and my coworker in Sac-to said that non of the party stores out there had anything themed with "movie" stuff. I said no worries I am going to Brentwood and they have a really cool party store there. They will have it. With all the bravado I had I walked in there and sure enough at the end of the isle on the far right they have a HUGE movie themed section. Not only did they have a lot of stuff to choose from but plenty of it. When I showed up to my event and my co worker was about the start neigh saying my prop themes. His eyes bulged out of his head and said "These are GREAT." This store has almost everything. I'm not going to say everything because I know there will be a day when they might not have what I want. I recently purchased some items for a bridal shower and ended up having a few things left over(confetti, a few bowls, etc.). I went in to return them but did not have my receipt. When the associate saw me waiting in line with a bag in my hand, she was clearly annoyed that I was trying to return something. When I went up to the register, I told her "I don't have my receipt, so can you look up my receipt with my card?" She told me I have to have a receipt to make a return. I asked her again, "Can you look it up with my card?" She then told me that in order to do that, I had to know the exact date and the exact register that was used for my purchase. There were a few people in line behind me and she seemed to be the only employee in the store, so I figured I wouldn't waste everyone's time while I was guessing at which register was used. I found the receipt and went in to return the items the next day. It was the same associate and again, she was clearly annoyed at me for wanting to return something. She didn't say much to me while I was there other than "Do you have your Visa with you?" I left the store feeling a little taken advantage of. I decided to take a closer look at their return policy. I found out that not only do you have to have a receipt for any returns(no exceptions), if for some reason you have to get a gift card back for your purchase, the gift card can only be used at that particular Party City and cannot be used at any other location. First of all, why would a big, corporate store like Party City have such a strict return policy? What happened to being customer-friendly? And secondly, why is the customer service in this particular store so terrible? Do they train their employees to treat customers with returns like crap to try and defer us from making returns in the future? I'm not sure what the reasoning is, but I won't be shopping at Party City again until they do something about their terrible return policy and their customer service. read more

Been coming to this Party City for a few years now and I have been happy with all the different items I've needed, bought and used. I have even had to return an item or two and have had no problems. Depending on how you pay, they will put it back onto your card, give you back your cash or even exchange it no problems. "we will gladly accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of purchase." They have so many accessories and options for that certain party or event you are trying to buy for. The prices are comparable to other places and sometimes even CHEAPER! The employees have been pleasant and very helpful for my needs. They have many, many balloons and colors to choose from. Either latex or mylar. When a season comes around you can bet they have a ton of ideas or decorations to choose from. Halloween is the best IMO. So many adult, teenager, toddler and even small child costumes. I'm pleased with the selection of plates, napkins etc and even bowls, cups, platters and even chaffing trays. Literally something for any kind of party, wedding, baby shower, quince, grad party or over the hill party! Oh and they do have a bathroom if your lil one decides "I have to go now Mommy"! I wish there was a zero star option. Do not trust this location with your party needs. I ordered some items online on Thursday for a gender reveal party on Sunday, it said it would be ready for pick up in 2 hours. When I never got a ready for pick up email, I called the store and they told me they were behind on pulling the orders and will work on it right away and by the time I get there it will be ready. The store is a 1 hour drive for me. I ended up not being able to go that day, so I called Friday morning to again confirm it was ready (still no email confirming ready for pick up) and after keeping me on hold for 5 minutes the lady comes back and tells me they don't have one if the items on my list, the gender reveal balloon. This was the only item I REALLY NEEDED. How could you show items online as being available in store and let someone order and not have it in stock??? Not to mention no curtesy call to advise they don't have the item. The lady tells me the have a lot of theft in the store and this item is a top one that gets stolen so even though they show they have it in stock, they really don't. Ridiculous!! Now I am left with no ballon for my 40 person gender reveal party on Sunday. No other stores have it within a 50 mile radius. Thanks a lot Party City!! read more

What I ordered was available, and when I called the girl told me she had just gone online to take off all balloons, once she saw my order because they were our. Really? i hadn't had any issues with online order pickup the last few times but this time around i did, and thankfully i wasn't pressed for time because if i was i wouldn't have been nearly as patient. I made an online order that included an inflated balloon + several other items, and I scheduled them to be picked up on a certain day/time. I opted for text notifications. I received a text saying that some of my order was ready for pickup and I had the option to pick up now or pick up on the scheduled day/time with the inflated balloon, which was almost one week later. When i arrived at the scheduled day/time, only my balloon was ready, and I had to let the associate know that I have additional items in my order. Two different customer service associates each tried to find the rest of my order in their designated area with bags ready for pickup and had no luck finding my order. They got the manager to help, and in her handheld device she could only find my balloon order and not the rest of my order. Apparently the system showed that the other part of my order was already picked up (obviously it was not). I showed her my original order email as well as the email from that same day saying that today was the day to pick up my full order, along with a list of all of the items ready for pickup. The manager went ahead and re-picked the rest of the items, but all the while I somehow got the sense that she believed I had already in fact picked up the rest of my order but was basically doing me a favor by picking the items again. Obviously someone messed up on their end, be it an employee improperly marking my order as picked up since it had been sitting ready for pickup for almost a week, or there was some kind of error in their system. I came here in search of table clothes and Mexican fiesta decorations. They have a ton of different party supplies of all different themes. The Mexican fiesta unfortunately very small. There was a large selection of items for any other kind of party. They have a great selection of balloons. They also sell individual candy which I love. The debit card scanner was broken so you had to do everything as credit. The cashiers were not all that helpful. They were not rude just kind of short. The price was ok. I ordered a Piñata kit online for pick up at this store a month ago-everything went fine Online, said they had it in stock and I could pick it up within 24 hours after someone called me, I was also able to list someone else to pick it up since I live out of state. My friend went to pick up the order and they gave her the wrong products but insisted that's what I ordered. I also paid online and they charged her in the store AND charged her more then what I paid. I called the manager and got it handled and took it as it's a piñata not the end of the world. Fast forward to Thursday 4/12/18 I went in around 12:30pm to place a balloon order and the cashiers were bad mouthing their management and store visits that were coming up for Saturday. It was myself and 2 other customers waiting in line as the cashier stopped in the middle of her transaction to walk over to her coworker to talk face to face then walked about 2 minutes after and handed the customer her receipt. When I finally got up to the counter (about 15 minutes) the customer service rep was clocking off and walked behind me and told her coworker "have fun this weekend and listening to what we don't do here, because we don't do anything and don't care. I'm off this weekend nobody better call me." On Saturday 4/14 we go to pick up the balloons-72 of them. 1 there was not 72 balloons blown up and that's what I originally paid for. ALSO they refused to bag them because the bags were in the break room and it would take 15 minutes. This behavior starts from the top! Does management NIT care how their customers are being treated?! Do you not care that this is the behavior happening on your sales floor. This whole store needs to be turnover and start fresh. I'm highly dissatisfied and disappointed in the service I was given ALL 3 times at this store within the last month. Hire people who care about what their doing! Hire managers who are willing to coach to bad behavior. read more

So it is my cousins birthday today and I went in to get some balloons. The store was not busy, I had awhile before the party. So I go inside and ask for some balloons and the lady says "it is gonna be about a 45 minute wait" so I proceed with my purchase and then go grab a quick bite to eat while I'm waiting. A little after 45 minutes I went back into the store to pick up the balloons and they look around for the balloons and say "We can't find them so lemme do new ones." They then took 20 minutes to fill up new balloons for me. The workers were rude, lazy and clearly didn't care. It should not have taken then nearly an hour to fill up two balloons no matter the size. Unbelievably bad service. We were there March 10 about 5PM to get some balloons. Picked out 20 regular helium balloons and waited in line a few minutes, they did not seem to be busy. Cheyenne was our cashier, and she was not in a good mood. First she refused to ring up the balloons and told us we had to come back tomorrow. Then she just stared at us for a minute. Finally she says fine she will do it but it will take 30- 40 minutes to do. We say that's ok and we pay for the balloons. As soon as she closes the cash register she says "OK that will be an hour or two...." and then in a pissed off voice yells for another worker to come help because "These freakin people want balloons...." When I called, I made sure to mention that I wanted to place a new order. I was asked for my phone number, which seemed normal, until the woman on the phone stated that she could not find my order. I once again explained that I wanted to place a new order. I was asked to repeat my number and then told again that my order wasn't coming up. I then said "I don't see how my number would be in your system, if I've never placed an order. I would like to place a new order." I was placed on hold. (Keep in mind during the entire duration of the call, I felt as if I was disturbing/troubling the employee) When the employee returned to the call, I was able to proceed with placing the order. (3rd times a charm...I guess) I was advised that I would receive an email confirmation. I never received an email, so based on my first experience, as well having read the reviews, I called to confirm my order was placed. My order was confirmed, then I was told that I would not receive an email confirmation, and hung up on. It was New Year's Eve. I was getting primped and pretty for my birthday across the street at Ulta, and it was then that it donned on me, "Maybe I should get some party favors..." So I headed in. Apparently, everyone else had the same idea on New Years Eve afternoon because this place was packed! I was beginning to get individual favors, but then I saw the boxed sets of party favors. I was getting ready to get one only to find that the boxes that I wanted looked like they were opened and tampered with. So I just grabbed a box (any box) that looked most intact. I also got a tiara (because I'm the birthday princess) and birthday candles. I wanted to get a sash, but I saw the price tag and it was 10 bucks. No thanks. The cashier line was moving fast despite being really busy. One thing I love to do is plan a party or a special occasion. My brother is a firefighter in the air force and has been stationed over in England for the last 3 years and he has just been transferred back here in the states. So being the party planner I am, I decided to plan a warm little welcoming home party. But not only were we celebrating his arrival home, we were also a celebrating the meeting of his wife for the first time (which is also her first time to the states). So, That's when Party City came to mind. This place is huge, bright and cheerful, very well organized, with just about everything you can imagine to plan a party or special occasion. I got a bunch of yellow balloons that said "Welcome Home" I bought them in a bag and they blew them up there. I also got some separate pearl colored balloons to add a nice classy touch to it. Not only was I impressed with the overall store, I was really impressed with the customer service and how exceptionally friendly and helpful the staff were, definietly a thumbs up in my book!!
