    On the dressing room

I've been going to the store since it opened. In the last year, it has gone downhill fast. It's always super messy, even first thing in the morning, and the dressing room always has dust bunnies everywhere (not to mention a hole in a dressing room thats been patched with tape multiple times) When I said something months ago, the employee told me they don't have enough staff or time to clean or pick up the clothes at the end of the night. It doesn't matter what time you go in there, it's a disaster. I'm shocked at how bad it's become. I go to other TJ Maxx's in neighboring towns and I've never seen one this bad. It's just as bad as Ross now, sadly.

I came in today and I ound some great items. Unfortunately, this is the longest line I've ever been. in ever in a department store. ( Including holidays) (

TJ Maxx is my favorite store, and while I'm lucky enough to have one where I live, this location is right next to a Home Goods, which is a huge added bonus. This location had a huge variety of cosmetics, and I found some great NARS items and quality faux lashes. I also found a killer deal on some essential oils and a diffuser. I notice that this year especially, TJ Maxx seems to carry a larger variety of planters than I've seen in the past. I did notice that some of the same decor items I found in the Home Goods next to this store were also in this TJ Maxx, but you won't find clothing in Home Goods, which TJ Maxx has plenty of. TJ Maxx has such an eclectic collection of decor, and items can change so rapidly, that it can almost feel like a new store every time you visit! This location is stellar!

When I reached the front, I wasn't greeted at all. While I understand that everyone can have an off day, it's still something I notice. The associate moved my bag to the side and scanned all of my items but didn't place anything into the bag, which I found odd. I looked around and saw other cashiers bagging items as they scanned them for their customers. When she finished, she handed me my receipt and left all of my items sitting there, even though everything easily fit into one bag. I asked if bagging items was no longer part of the process. She responded that they do bag items but said she "has a line," and immediately began ringing up the next customer while bagging their items. I pointed out that bagging is part of the job, but she ignored me. When I asked if she heard me, she said she could bag them, but by then I chose to bag my items myself. It didn't make sense that she used having a line as a reason, especially since bagging items would have kept things moving efficiently. What was more frustrating was that she chose not to bag my items but did so for the very next customer. That felt dismissive and disrespectful. I've shopped at this Target for years and have never had an experience like this. The associate's name was Adrianna. I also spoke with a manager, who mentioned that some customers prefer to bag their own items. However, that explanation doesn't apply when the associate doesn't even ask. The manager also didn't seem particularly apologetic, which is why I'm writing this review. I hope this situation is addressed so other customers don't have a similar experience.

I didn't understand the whole two racks, it honestly made the store feel very cluttered, but now there's none of that, and it actually feels like you can breathe in there. I kept going back hoping it would improve but that has not happened. To be fair, I did not experience the rudeness that some other reviewers mentioned. The staff were not rude to me personally. The problem here is the overall condition of the store and what appears to be a lack of management or basic upkeep. If I am being honest the overall experience is about a .25 out of 5 stars. Let's start with the security situation because it is honestly one of the strangest parts of the whole experience. When the store first opened you could walk in normally and security would welcome you with a smile. Now they have a retractable belt barrier at the entrance like you are about to enter some exclusive shopping experience. Unfortunately the big reveal on the other side is mostly empty fragrance shelves and clothes all over the floor. The guard gives this long speech about how the system is supposed to improve the shopping experience and then closes the belt behind you like you are being admitted into a club. The last time I went in I was so disappointed that I left after about one minute. The guard was busy at the register and I literally had to move the belt and let myself out. Not sure why I felt the need to close the belt behind me but I did... Meanwhile right outside the doors there are often homeless people sitting on the floor hanging out near the entrance and security does nothing about it. If the goal is to make customers feel comfortable walking in the store maybe start there. Why not trespass people who are camping out at the front door instead of making paying customers feel like they need permission to enter? Now the store itself is even worse. Anyone who is into fragrances knows Burlington can sometimes be a great place to find deals. Well not at this Burlington. The fragrance shelves are usually almost empty and what little is there is disorganized and toppled over. I can walk in and scan the entire section in about one minute before realizing there is nothing there. The clothing section is somehow even more chaotic. The racks are packed together with sizes completely mixed up and clothes all over the floor. It looks like the version of the store that you likely know and would expect to see ten minutes before closing on a major holiday except this is how it looks in the middle of the day. Compared to the Pittsburg Burlington the difference is night and day. That store is organized, stocked well, and actually enjoyable to shop in. This location feels like nobody is really paying attention to what is happening in the building. It is honestly disappointing because I was excited to finally have a Burlington closer to home where I could check for fragrances and deals more often. Instead it has been a letdown every single visit. The Pittsburg store clearly knows how to run a Burlington. This location might want to call them and ask how it is done

Half off is probably standard for a day after Christmas - but Lowes had 75% off two days before Christmas for all holiday decorations - so more off and you could actually have some use for whatever you buy the year of... well, I guess except if you are Eastern Orthodox with the different calendar. Furniture and such I think is probably one of the better things to buy here. You get to sit in it and look at quality - something you cant do if you ship and buy online... Plus with bulky furniture I'd think shipping is probably a bit expensive. Clothing also ok to buy here. I don't like how they put price tags through the garment - it sometimes puts a hole in your new shirt even before you get it home. I'd prefer if they put the price tag in the tag of the clothing item. Lots of wrapping paper. You could get some paper that has a cat on it. Who wouldn't like that? During that visit, I exchanged it for three dresses, a perfume, and a pair of earrings. When I got home, I tried on the dresses before washing them and found that two of them did not fit properly. The material was uncomfortable and itchy, and the dresses were too tight in the chest area. I decided to keep the perfume, earrings, and one dress, but planned to return the two dresses that did not work for me. On June 16, 2026, I returned to the store to shop and return the two dresses. During the return process, the cashier asked why I was returning them, and I explained that there was nothing wrong with the dresses--they simply did not fit. The cashier then called another employee over to assist. Neither employee was wearing a name tag, so I am unsure of their positions. The second employee asked whether I had worn the dresses, and I explained that I had only tried them on. She then asked where the tags were. I honestly told her that I had not noticed the tags were missing and checked the original bag from my previous transaction. What made me uncomfortable was the way the situation was handled. When I explained that I did not know where the tags were, the employee responded, "That's impossible. What do you mean they didn't have tags? It's not like they're going to magically come off themselves." I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable by the tone and manner in which I was spoken to, especially in front of other customers and employees. I understand that store policies must be followed and that questions may need to be asked regarding returns. However, I believe those questions can be asked professionally and respectfully. I completed the return process and chose not to argue at the time, but I wanted to share this experience because the interaction left me feeling humiliated and unwelcome. I hope this feedback can be used to remind employees of the importance of treating customers with courtesy and respect, even when addressing concerns about a return.

There are also a few good dining options, such as BJ's, CreAsian, and Black Angus. In the past, I found the shopping center to be pretty dull compared to some of the other malls and shopping areas I've visited around the Bay Area. However, since it was purchased by a new owner, I've noticed some improvements and renovations that have given the area a much-needed refresh. New additions like Handel's, Vine + Grain, and the upcoming Slice House are making the center feel more lively and promising. I think Streets of Brentwood has a lot of potential and will continue to improve over the next five years. One of my favorite features is the outdoor patio area. It's a nice place to take a stroll, spend time with family, and even bring your dog.
