Horrible service received by Andrea today. I purchased the red just yesterday at the clothes of the night and came back to return it today and the woman Andrea was about to return it for me although I have the receipt and the tags were on. She said it was dirty, which is exactly how it was when I purchased it.!! Looking at the receipt date and speaking to the customer would help instead of acting like I was the person that made it dirty, which is why it was marked down!!! I've been going to the store since it opened. In the last year, it has gone downhill fast. It's always super messy, even first thing in the morning, and the dressing room always has dust bunnies everywhere (not to mention a hole in a dressing room thats been patched with tape multiple times) When I said something months ago, the employee told me they don't have enough staff or time to clean or pick up the clothes at the end of the night. It doesn't matter what time you go in there, it's a disaster. I'm shocked at how bad it's become. I go to other TJ Maxx's in neighboring towns and I've never seen one this bad. Workers are always on there phones when I need assistance and when they help it's as if I'm annoying them. I'm not sure if it's just afternoons and late nights but the staff is horrible the kids sections are always dirty. I seen staff hide things they want in the back room so I and other's couldn't get to them. The people at the registers are NEVER paying attention and always in a rush and check me out for 10 items when i only had 4 (probably leftovers from the previous transaction) and I didn't notice till I looked at my receipt when I got home. It's so infuriating because I was told that I did purchase the item when I only had the same things I brought back so they could check and see I only purchased 4 things from the bedding section. read more

TJ Maxx is my favorite store, and while I'm lucky enough to have one where I live, this location is right next to a Home Goods, which is a huge added bonus. This location had a huge variety of cosmetics, and I found some great NARS items and quality faux lashes. I also found a killer deal on some essential oils and a diffuser. I notice that this year especially, TJ Maxx seems to carry a larger variety of planters than I've seen in the past. I did notice that some of the same decor items I found in the Home Goods next to this store were also in this TJ Maxx, but you won't find clothing in Home Goods, which TJ Maxx has plenty of. TJ Maxx has such an eclectic collection of decor, and items can change so rapidly, that it can almost feel like a new store every time you visit! This location is stellar! read more

I went in there with my husband to return a shirt that was too small for him. While he was in line, I put A COUPLE things in my cart consistimg of: 2 belts, a mascara, hairbands, a small makeup bag, and two sets of nails. I was looking at the shoes when my husband called and said he was done. Not really needing any of the stuff, I left the cart there. When I walked out I was greeted by THREE police cars accusing me of "loading up my cart and getting tipped off they were there which is why I didn't walk out with anything.". I could have bought everything in that cart plus a lot more! Then they told me I was no longer allowed at that store. I am HORRIFIED as my son was waiting in the car and witnessed everything, and I'm not that type of person! Do they have that many thieves that now they want to accuse legit customers? Seriously considering filing a lawsuit. read more

Went shopping, line was so huge I asked for the associate to hold my stuff so that I may pay later as I had to pick up my kids. I returned a few hours later, stood in huge line with my kid again to only get some of my items. I asked to speak to the manager as it was highly disappointed. This review will be long. I live in Brentwood I shop in this Tjmaxx often as well as the surrounding stores. I've always felt safe and never felt as though the staff was targeting me while shopping. For reference I am a 25 year old black woman. Today 2/10 I visited this tj maxx at around 7pm. I found a really pretty vanity mirror in the area where the body care things are. Mind you the mirror is pretty big but it was not heavy and had a handle. I didn't grab a cart because I wasn't planning on buying a lot of things. Instead of going to get a cart I decided to just hold it while I look at other things. While I was walking around smelling candles and looking at all the mugs I felt like someone was watching me. Every time I looked over my shoulder there was a man in a black beanie and a 49ers red hoodie on starring at me. I believe he was undercover security. He would not take his eyes off of me. I felt so uncomfortable I couldn't enjoy my shopping anymore so I decided to get in line and leave. As I was standing in line I started watching the man with the red hoodie. I guess since he noticed I got in line and didn't try and steal anything he took his eyes off of me and migrated to another black woman and her son. I watched him while he was watching her. He was definitely under cover but not a good one. Him plus 3 other men were obviously watching her. I told the cashier how uncomfortable I was shopping and he said he would tell his manager. I'm not sure if he really told his manager or not. But I say all this to say if you are a woman of color be aware of your surroundings while shopping here and make it known that you know that they are watching you. I hate pulling the race card but I only saw the under cover security watching me and another black woman and we were both by ourselves. Be safe Ladies. read more

Who doesn't like TJ MAXX? It's like a flea market for inexpensive name brand stuff. The stores are always cluttered but relatively clean. The employees are always hard to find but helpful when found. With stores like these I have no expectations, I love them for what they are- designer thrift stores. If I want a clean and organized store with attentive employees, I'll shop Nordy's, but if I want to save some money for the same item, TJ MAXX works. This store is one of the cleaner ones I have been in and they have great deals on some treasures. The location couldn't be an easier to get to right off Hwy 4. read more

My wife passed away and had purchased dresses and other garments, I couldn't find all of her recipes and the store manager would not refund these purchases. I have visited this location on a few occasions to buy suitcases before my travels, and though it's a small store, they offer a respectable selection of decent-quality luggage, bags and travel essentials. Their beauty section is usually peppered with some fantastic finds and there is usually at least one employee who is warm, friendly and courteous. Sadly, after my last visit, I cannot recommend this location to non-whites. During a leisurely shopping trip, I headed towards the gift section where several Caucasian women stood around, as I came close to them another yelled from behind me "Keep an eye on that one!" Unsure of who she was referring to, I shyly looked back; she meant me. I unknowingly was walking past their cart and another woman rushed to grab it as she disapprovingly glared at me. I was stunned and must admit, I wanted to run out of the store but my husband had left with our car to another store. There were other white customers nearby and who walked past them and their cart, but apparently I was the only one who could be a potential thief. Perhaps it was my choice in cardigan or my threatening pearl earrings and delicate gold chain that made me look like a menacing thief or a thug. Or was it my intimidating 4'11 stature or 95 lb. frame that rung the alarm of fear in their racist hearts? To top it all off, after I paid for my purchases and started to walk away, the cashier chuckled and mentioned that she thought I was walking away with her stapler! Why the heck would anyone want to steal a stapler?! I laughed uncomfortably but really I just wanted to cry. While I realize this type of racist behavior is the norm in Brentwood and many find it to be acceptable, it's absolutely deplorable. I travel extensively, have lived in other countries and several other states, and sadly and without hesitation, must say that Brentwood is one of the most hate-filled communities I have ever visited. read more

I bought some chairs from TJMaxx in Brentwood, TN and put them on hold to pick up at a later time. The cashier was a new hire and didn't do the hold properly...and they sold the chairs to someone else by accident. The manager Don went out of his way to make the situation right. He texted me pictures of other chairs as they came into stock and held several styles for me over a 3 week period. After the third set, we had finally found our chairs! He held them in the back and gave us 10% off because of the original mishap. I can't say enough good things about how Don handled the situation. Most people would just apologize and move on. However, he followed through and truly tried to find us the perfect replacement chairs...and he did! read more

I typically visit this store for cooking supplies and my favorite candles. Most recently my daughter joined me and found quite a lot of clothes that she liked. I found some glass kitchen storage containers and a beautiful mortar & pestle but unfortunately they did not have any of my favorite candles. I thought Nordies was the only place I could return/exchange things years later without a receipt. I bought four pairs of dress slacks waaaay over a year ago. I, being a woman, have a tendency to change my mind...often. Love today, what was I thinking tomorrow. Therefore, I have learned to never ever remove the tags. Unfortunately, I'm reeeeally bad about returning things and meeting that 30-90 day(if your lucky) policy. Most places (Macy's for one) won't budge if you pass that time frame. So I was sure that I was going to be stuck with these slacks which were now two sizes too big for me (yay, I'm shrinking). A big thumbs down to the cashier who tried to dissuade me from bringing them in. Yes, I asked their policy prior to bringing them in as I happened to be here and recalled the slacks collecting dust in the closet. I was told it wouldn't be in the system and they would give me a clearance price. A few bucks for them and wouldn't be worth my time...yada yada yada. Me, being me, chose to ignore her and decided to take my chances with a manager. I brought them in a few hours later and I explained it had been some time since the purchase but they were now too big and had never been worn. She inspected them, saw they were in perfect condition with all tags still attached and had no problem giving me the full amount in store credit. Thanks TJ, I may actually shop here more. You are normally hit and miss for me and require digging but you are starting to win me over. I also scored a pair of designer slacks on clearance for $7 buckaroo's. That's right, I ended up leaving with more clothes than I returned. On top of that, I wore that off the shoulder top I scored here ($12.99) with my designer jeans purchased at Nordstrom (you don't want to know) and got mad compliments on the top. I was telling my hair dresser that one of my twins wanted a Juicy bikini cover up. I looked online and saw that it was 150.00 - for real? I am NOT paying 150.00 for a cover up. For a kid. Anyhow, Monica then tells me to check out TJ MAXX first. So we did. Not only did my daughter find the cover up she wanted for 50.00 but she also found a 200.00 dollar Juicy bikini for 40.00. SCORE! TJ Maxx has become my go-to (almost all-purpose) store. You can't beat the deals that it has to offer. Over the summer, they had a clearance blow-out sale and everything I needed ranged from $1.50-$15.00. I personally come here for their greeting card and journal section. They receive some of coolest looking items that would be so expensive if purchased from the original retailer. There might be a few imperfections in the products, but for the most part they're still in good quality. I actually bought one of those Luckies of London scratch globes from here for only $3.50. It was on super clearance, the box was messed up, but everything was still in tact and the product itself was unharmed. Those things cost originally $20-$40. Amazing deal. Not only do I love the company in general, but this specific store is in a convenient location. Right across from the Streets of Brentwood and among other discount stores and restaurants. (Menchies is just across the parking lot. And so is my dentist.) The staff is also extremely helpful when you are in need of something. They go extra lengths to make sure the customers are pleased with their purchase. read more

I genuinely like this location a lot. It's got a great selection of women's clothing and I love that I can find things in my size, without the clothes being ugly or too expensive. They've got a fantastic selection of women's shoes which is just great and they're all reasonably priced. I have walked into this store and walked out with nothing, but that's how the store is sometimes. Sometimes you're going to strike a gold mine and sometimes you just strike out. Luckily at this location you strike gold a lot more than you think you would. This is also my go-to place for cheap home decoration that doesn't look cheap. Which is a win, win, win! The customer service is great here. I've been helped out numerous times by the staff and they've been beyond helpful. The women working at the jewelry department are so patient and attentive. I went one time with a friend and we must have been there for an hour trying to find the perfect bracelet, and the employee was just so patient with us. She went the extra mile and everything and I really felt like they put our needs first. Definitely a fan of this location and it is one of the better maintained TJ Maxx locations in the area. read more

TJ Maxx has never ever failed me the brands, items, and price!! I love coming in here when I am super bored and roaming the racks! Remembering what I liked and coming in a couple weeks later and scoring it on clearance! Thats what I love about TJ Maxx and Marshalls! But if its a big score (real high end name brand) you better get it while its there and while your size is still avail, alot of hot items go super fast!! I recently scored a super hot pair of Sam Edelman Queenie stilleto booties in pewter on clearance for $20!!! I saw the same exact pair online for $200!! And last month they were selling for $130 at TJs! Great find! The employees here are a hit or miss tho! Some are super friendly, others are rude and have stank faces. Weekly routine!! read more

Greeting was a hand gesture akin to "I guess I'll help you" even though the screen signaled for me to go to her register and I stood there for 10 seconds in front of her while she complained about not liking to stand there. This place is pretty great! For once, I was actually able to find a store that sold my shoe size and weren't super expensive, although its still on the pricey side. On this visit I came to find a Chi straightener since a friend of mine told me they were only $69.99. Sadly, their highest temperature is 392 degrees and my curly hair likes it a little bit hotter. Sad :( My friend from work told me to stop by and check out the great deals on some designer makeup . I came by and purchased a few items and had a bag. My mom and her friend just had lunch in the area and I told them to come check it out . I met with the friend and my mom, showed them what I got in store and asked to hold my bag so I can use restroom . Immediately walking out security asked me if I needed help. I said no thank you and met up with my mom and her friend. Multiple associates were staring and I felt very unwelcome, uncomfortable , and embarrassed that they thought I was stealing . Another associate came up and asked if we needed help when finally my mother and I let them know we are not stealing and if they would like to see the receipt from my purchase. I have never felt so embarrassed in my life. I understand their POV as I have worked retail as well but they have really discouraged me from coming back. I work full time as a medical assistant and have been raised with enough morals and values not to steal. I can't believe this has even happened. I feel humiliated. read more

This is a bigger TJ Maxx with a good selection of everything. I get lucky almost every time with finds in clothes, shoes, accessories, and stuff for home. There is a big parking lot and always available spaces (I do usually go during the week, though). I do love me some TJ Maxx for gifts as well. read more

I went in here last week and purchased a couple items. While I was at the checkout, Tamara was helping me. She saw the items I was purchasing and told me there were similar items available if I was interested and brought them over. I ended up purchasing the 2 additional items. I thought it was really nice of her to remember the 2 items another customer didn't want and that I would be interested in them. Most cashiers wouldn't take the time to do that. She was very kind and wrapped my items with care. I don't live in the area but would go back and shop there again because she had great customer service and I had a pleasant experience! read more
