So Boyfriend and I headed to Spirit Halloween to find some inspiration. This Spirit branch opens mid-September (for the truly early birds) and has an extensive selection of adult and kids costumes, though they're of the more "typical" variety. As is Halloween tradition, apparently if you're a woman, you're pretty much pigeon-holed into going as a whore if you decide to buy one of the off-the-shelf options. That's not really my bag, and they do have lots of pieces that you can buy separately to build a more creative costume yourself. A little surprisingly, also experienced pretty good customer service here too -- one salesperson was super knowledgeable about removal of red fake blood and the other was chatty and personable at the cash register. Getting closer to the big day, I hope they get more staff, as these two looked pretty overworked already. A nice feature: with your purchase, you can opt to donate something to the IWK with your purchase. Something to make you feel a little less silly for sinking $65 into something you'll wear once to a party perhaps? As with any specialty holiday shop, I'd get there early for the best selection and be prepared to fight some crowds as October draws to a close.

They also attached a copy of my online order. I ended up having to chase up my tracking information as I didn't receive a call from the shop as they advised I would. Upon checking my tracking information, I discovered that the parcel was NOT sent by the Xpresspost shipping (which I paid for) as I needed the costume by a certain date. This means that it is not going to arrive until after the event it was purchased for. My parcel was shipped by a method that is approximately 75% cheaper than the option I paid for. The staff have not been helpful in attempting to rectify the problems. I would NOT recommend Ripsters to anybody!

During my appointment my consult asked my style etc. but she was not pulling any dresses that were my preferred style or anything i liked, halfway through i started feeling hopeless so my MOH went through and pulled a few dresses that would suit me and she was then told to sit down because no one other than a consultant was allowed to pull the dresses. Once my MOH started pointing out the potentials things looked up and i eventually found my dress! That being said it was in a size too big and they would not allow me to try the smaller size on even though it was in store, it was i either take the larger size dress or i can wait the week before my wedding to have the size smaller dress shipped to my address, in frustration I ended up buying the dress off the floor and getting it tailored to my size by a seamstress. The consultant also showed signs of pure frustration with me as i would only try on some dresses she picked because i knew they just were not my style. All of my bridesmaids with the exception of one had to pre order a dress. All of the dresses were paid upfront in full and all they had to do was pick up when David's bridal called that it was in. That phone call did not come in and on July 4th she was calling every day for a week and no one could tell her where her dress was. One phone call said that the dress was still not even made yet but could have shipped to her by July 31st, with them well known that my wedding is July 25th. They eventually had to give her a refund and she bought a dress elsewhere due to David's Bridal losing and have no idea where this said dress was that was PAID FOR. Highly recommend going else where if you want to avoid chaos.

Searching for a gift for my BF daughter I knew what I wanted to get her. Where she likes crafts I went and searches for an outdoor patio stone so that she could make. Many to chose from I like the flower on which came into a pre packages kit ready to go for $29.99. There are isles and isle of stuff half of which I have no idea what to do with it. Picture frames, beads for making jewelry and very nicely laid out. The staff are very helpful and will take the time to explain to you what the product requires. Oh and they as well have Birthday Parties at Michael's which is a fantastic idea.

Second, I don't have the patience for confusing big box stores where everything is tremendously difficult to find. Still, I will for the sake of prepping non-crafters like myself for what they should expect when dragged here by handy friends, or accidentally coming to in aisle four after some strange Hangover-style bender. What you need to know is that for crafters, everything about Michael's makes sense which is probably why you're so confused and disoriented. It's not SUPPOSED to make sense to mere mortals like you and I. Just go with it, ask for help, and get out rather than try to figure it out on your own and lose three hours of your life. Don't be a hero. You should probably also know that there's always some cray-cray sale going on that again will not make any sense to you. But don't worry, just buy what you went in for and the helpful staff at the cash will find ways to save you money so you don't have to. This should also be a note to not even bother trying to figure out how much money you're about to spend before you go up to the cash. Lastly, they have more things than you will ever need or even begin to understand. Remember above all else, keep your eye on the prize, know what you're looking for, and commit to your plan of craftification before you enter. Otherwise you're going to end up thinking that your bristol board and cut-outs project should actually be a paint, canvas and pottery ordeal from which you will never recover.

There was actually a beautiful Calvin there for $299 Grey Pinstripe which is what I was looking for. Further on down the line I did not know that they carried jeans and casual wear for me which surprised me and good prices. Calvin jeans $98.00 which is a good deal.
