Unhelpful, lack of caring, and poor service. Additionally, they try and charge you with all sorts of hidden costs. Will never go back.

Party City is great for sooooo many reasons! Like a Cabaret themed dress up Yelp party ;-) No really, this place is AWESOME! You can check nearly their entire inventory online, you can call the store to see if they have something or to hold it! Order balloons days or a month in advance and let them know when you want to pick it up. If you need tablewear of any colour of the rainbow or candies in a specific colour, this is your place! Sure, some things run you more than the $ store or Walmart but others are actually a much better price here. So know what you are looking for and have fun! My kids love coming here becauset there is always a toy or treat for them to pick out at $2 or under and that keeps for a happy shopping trip and a happy mom. I didn't know this store existed in the westend until I was looking up Halloween costumes online. They had a great website with the costumes and prices so I had an idea of the ones I wanted to look at. The location is great in Mayfield Common with a big parking lot. Entering the store, the first few aisles were filled with Halloween merchandise. Great for decorating the home, office, and parties! The wall has all the costumes with price, and number. I took down the number of the one I wanted and went to the check out. The cashier called for the number and I waited a minute or two. The associate brought out the wrong one but I went back with him and checked the wall. He promptly brought it out. I was happy with it and went to the check out. They have a good 30 day return policy on Halloween costumes so in case I decide on something else, I can return it for a refund. They tell me the costumes are selling fast so if you have something in mind, best to pick it up soon. They have a good variety including superhero ones. I didn't really shop in the rest of the store but it seemed they have everything you will need for a party! They also have big helium foil balloons which would be great for a child and entice shoppers at the till with candy for 12/$1. read more

You don't even need a party to love this store - come when you have time to browse - bring a wee one or two to really appreciate all the goodness stuffed into every nook and cranny! Whether it's party favours for a child's party or more sophisticated deco for adults, this store has everything. Granted, some items are a bit more than you might pay elsewhere (beware the candy!),but it's offset by the variety. You can get literally anything/everything you might need all in one spot, and it's hard to argue with that. I love just going there with a kiddo to pick out a treat (or two or ten). On our most recent trip, we found superhero finger puppets (batman, Capt America, etc) for only 40 cents each. Stick a couple in my purse and the next time we have to wait anywhere, instant entertainment. And, I could not resist a pair of Mario sunglasses that included his red hat and a dangling black moustache ... not for me, stop laughing!! Lots of fun! read more

I bought balloons that did not hold up for 12 hours which is the guarantee. Tried to speak to the manager Andrew but he got very defensive and confrontational. He said that there are people who commit balloon fraud. Long story short i asked to have the owner call me back. It's been about 2 weeks and so no more mercy on them. All locations of Party City are privately owned. I was very upset and disturbed in dealing with the Mayfield Common location. I called twice and spoke to the manager twice. If you don't want to have balloons that fall and cause embarrassment avoid the Mayfield Common Party City. I guess good help is hard to find Andrew. That is why you work there. read more

Ooooo-weee! A new Party City! It's brand new, so shiny and so full of fun, cool party stuff and ideas. From costumes to candy, table settings of every colour imaginable and event must haves, this is most definitely a must go-to stop before every holiday and any event you are throwing. Trust me, I do this for a living... I always stop into Party City before I do any sort of an event, party or gathering. Most times you don't even know you need something until you get there and see it staring at you from the isle! Make sure to go on to their website and bookmark or print off a coupon, because one thing this store is not for many items, is cheap! read more

I wanted to buy some 16oz paper coffee cups and lids like the ones cafes use and found them here pretty cheap. They have a vast supply of anything party related including cutlery,table cloths,decorations,balloons, hallowe'en stuff, leis, candy. Great store. read more

Young lady was distracted with talking to another associate thru her headset/mike while filling the 4 latex balloons I had bought at 7pm for the next morning...noticed one was not fully inflated as it could have been. That one balloon was already deflated by 5:30am. read more

I love party city. They have everything you might need in every color under the sun. They were even nice enough to offer me a discount card (as I usually buy stuuf for school). my only concern is they sometimes dont have enough cashiers on as they also have to fill balloons as well as work the till. read more

My experience at this location was horrific. The associate spent 10 minutes with the customers before me only to sell them a single helium balloon. Another customer asked questions in which the associate replied that they could not help her with any of the items she wanted to get customized. My turn finally came up and I had selected 5 balloons which I wanted to be blown up and made into a bouquet. After asking for a specific mylar balloon with the number 40, she offered me different ones, none which had the number 40. I also brought my own balloon weight but the associate told me they would not tie balloons to a weight because they no longer did that. I did not understand so I asked why and she had no good reason and told me to tie them down myself. I hesitantly agreed at which time she passed my balloons onto another associate to get filled. Unlike other stores, I was not asked how long I needed the balloons to last and how long I would like the string. That associate ended up popping one of my balloons and asking me to grab another one, but I had specifically found balloons with the number 40 on it and that was all they had. She explained that it was her first time ever blowing up balloons. It has been less than a 24 hours and the balloons have already fallen to the ground as they were not properly blown up. read more
