I've never had a bad experience here, but I just had an outstanding one that deserves to be recognized. The price on the shelf of the Mickey bouquet I was picking up was more expensive than on the website. They happily price matched their website. The cashier and the young lady that inflated the balloons were both cheerful and friendly. Before I even got to my car, the centerpiece of the bouquet, Mickey's head, exploded. I was crushed. My wife told me to go back in and they would make it right. Before I even reached the front door, the woman in leadership (the manager, maybe?) leaned in the front door (she was carrying in freight) and asked for another Mickey to be inflated. I expected them to say that I'd left the store so it was my problem- instead, they made it right with no questions. THIS is what customer service is about. I came here literally 2 minutes before closing, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! Upon stepping foot in the door, the employee warned me that they were closing in 2 minutes. I apologized for coming in last minute and asked if it were still possible to get balloons. She asked how many I was looking to purchase, to which I said four, and she let me in. I was highly thankful since I had just made the half-hour drive up from Greenwood, so it would've been a huge letdown to come back empty-handed. The employee blowing up the balloons was extremely friendly and helpful. I knew what I wanted, and she was able to locate all of the balloons for me quickly. She blew them up exceptionally well, and none of the balloons have deflated yet. After purchasing the balloons, the employee let me out and bid me farewell. My cashier was Chelsea and I told her the people in front of us allowed her kids to blow on all the balloons and put them back ( she was standing behind the counter watching the mom tell her kid to put it back after all of that) Because we obviously live in a world of corona virus and a pandemic I told her just in case maybe she really wasn't paying attention to what was happening and she literally disregarded me and didn't do anything about it. Stopped on to stock up on party favors for the kiddos birthday soiree. The store is transitioning from Halloween to Turkey/Santa day, so the whole store was in disarray, with empty shelves and full boxes everywhere. That wasn't really a problem for me, the area I needed to access was pretty much free, clear and well stocked. I wandered a bit, hunting for some extra supplies, dodging the ladders and workers who were scatteres throughout the store. The staff left A LOT to be desired. As I mentioned, they were all over the place, but of the 10 or so I saw as I wandered about, only one bothered to say hello and to ask me if I needed assistance. All others gave me the "don't bug me face". When I went to check out, the two cashiers at the front carried on a conversation about a "weird" customer one of them had dealt with previously. I really wanted to like this store as it is closer to my house and larger than the one in Woodinville, but after experiencing what passes for customer service, I doubt I'll be back. read more

What a terrible experience I had! Yesterday they were open until midnight. At about 8:45pm I went in with my boyfriend to purchase a Maleficent costume. The workers were very helpful in getting our costume from the back. We we directed to follow the green footprints to get our costume off a table in the back. We purchased the costume and were on our way! Excited with our new purchase, we opened it right away. And there it was: a robe. After double checking the packaging that CLEARLY says a headpiece is included, I was in a panic. $55 for an incomplete costume? I called Party City right away. After their lengthy greeting, I spoke. Me: "Hello, I was just in your store and purchased a Maleficent costume. There is no headpiece included." Party City Employee: "That was our last one though" ...what? So, clearly she was aware of the incomplete costume sold, since she responded without skipping a beat. Me: "Is there something you can do?" Party City Employee: "We can either give you a discount on the purchase, or store credit." I let them know that I would be right back, and I mean RIGHT back. Minutes later, I walked back into a now empty Party City. The manager was behind the counter. We explained to them that we made this purchase and that the costume was lacking the head piece. She said she would go check to see if they had more available. IF? I was already told by the lady on the phone that it was the last one. Such a sketchy vibe... Minutes later she came out and apologized that it was indeed their last. Refusing to take either the discount or the store credit, my boyfriend suggested another location to pick the costume up from. The manager looked on the computer and found 2 at another location. She said she could call and hold the costume, but insisted on making the phone call in the back, despite the phone right beside her. Fifteen minutes later... She said to me, "Sorry, I was on hold for like ever. So they have the costume and are willing to old it until noon tomorrow." I told her noon was too early, because I work. She said it's non negotiable and that at this location, she was only doing holds for an hour. Well, considering this isn't a "hold" but a costume already purchased, I would hope there was something they could do to accommodate me for this mishap. I asked her if it was a straight exchange between stores. After a long pause, she whispered "yes." Clearly this manager was not willing to work with me. I stepped out and made a phone call to the other location. I was directed with absolutely no hold time. Me: "Hi, I just purchased a Maleficent costume from the Everett location, but there is no head piece. The manager told me that you would hold a costume tomorrow, and that it would be a straight exchange?" Manager of Other Location: "No! I'm not taking an incomplete costume because I would be taking the hit." Me: "The manager just told me you were willing to take this exchange, no later than noon tomorrow." Manager of Other Location: "That isn't true, I'm here until 9pm tomorrow, I can hold it for you all day. But I'm not taking an exchange and taking a hit for an incomplete costume. What she needs to do is give you a full refund, and then you can just buy this costume here." ...Completely different story. But I knew the manager of the Everett location wasn't being truthful. I mean, they knowingly sold me an incomplete costume in the first place. I walked back into Party City and told them the news. With a Razzie winning performance, the manager said "What! I didn't know! She didn't tell me that!" After proceeding to bad mouth the other manager, she completed my refund while telling me it was the wrong thing to do. She added, "I personally would have just done the exchange if I were her, and then I would have given her the discount, but whatever." Well, I personally would be a lot more professional if I was a manager of an establishment in the customer service industry. It all was just so sketchy. I couldn't imagine going all the way to another Party City location, only to not be granted an exchange. Please do not make it a customer's problem that a costume is incomplete. I shouldn't have had to do her job in setting all of this up. What a sketchy, unprofessional predicament I was put in! It was a dishonest purchase, and a dishonest resolution! This manager put me in such a bad position, and I can't believe they would lie not only during the time of purchase, but to then completely fabricate a solution which would make me look like an idiot, just so you can keep your full priced payment for an incomplete costume! The older gentlemen that work here are embarrassing assholes. The woman I spoke to on the phone I had to pull teeth to have her hold a costume till I could get there. I offered to pay for it over the phone, have it shipped, ANYTHING. Upon arrival the young cashier called for help due to a LONG line, and the older gentleman who came up to help him embarrassed him but informing ALL OF US, what he should have said when calling for help at the register. The same man argued with me they don't hold costumes even though I was assured it was there. My biggest complaint is the lack of professionalism and attitude. I won't be back. I love Party City, as a Canadian this store is amazing, overwhelming (in a good way) and it brings out the kid in me. However, this location was none of that. From the minute I walked in, the store it looked like it had been ransacked and there were no employees around. I had it in the back of my mind that maybe they had been robbed, but no, this is just how the Everett location is. There were many empty shelves, an almost empty isle, countless pieces of merchandise on the floor and a general grimy dirty feeling. At the cash register no one was around, I rang the bell and waited a few minutes before anyone showed up. They have a lot of cool stuff. Some stuff is cheap, as well as cheaply made, which is alright for some things. But other things are expensive, yet cheaply made. We spent $30 on a wedding garland that lights up, and I thought it would be so pretty. But when we opened the box and tried it out, the lights didn't even work. They say they are a discount store, but the real discount is in the quality of the merchandise. I went to get some balloons for a friend's birthday. They didn't have any of the balloons I really wanted so I just had to get whatever they had. The manager told me to make sure to keep them in a warm place. I got home and took them straight into the house. With in two hours one of the balloons was already falling to the floor and the big one that says happy birthday isn't has full as it was when I got it. I use to come here for all my friends and families birthdays but I will not be going back anytime soon. read more

Me and two friends walked into the store just looking around and actually shopping for items for school and the old crusty man starts following us around the store for no reason. Then later when we were standing looking at some glasses a woman comes up and starts talking to us clearly talking as if we were up to no good and she cane as if to catch us in the act of something which is stupid because we were just talking and shopping. I love this new location. It is much bigger, brighter and clean! The staff went above and beyond for me on Saturday. I came in with my son to get some more stuff for his birthday party. He had a balloon from another store and accidentally popped it while we were in line. Let the crying in sue! Tyler, I think it was immediately stopped what he was doing and came over to my son and was like Oh buddy, it's okay, lets go get you a new balloon. He got down on my sons level (who is 3) and calmed him down, told him his name etc. I have never seen any other employee go above and beyond like that. Major props to that guy!!! First Impression: Store was super clean, well organized and put together. best party city I had been too. Lots of selection as well. Staff was helpful... we thought, we were in need of a box to put together a Gender Reveal with baloons. Found out they did not sell them but they offered a shipping box. We initially declined and went on a hunt for a nice box in the general area to no avail, even at UPS (They were out). Now the story begins, we went back and told them about our trials at finding a box and asked if we could accept the shipping box for our reveal. They grabbed a box, we gave them the baloons we had picked out, a pack of 6 for $2.99 with polkadots we gave them Blue and Pink and asked them to use the color that goes with the paperwork we handed them. They said Cool, we can do that. We also bought a over sized bag and put the box in it so it would be 'decorated' told them we would like a balloon anchor/weight as well. This was all awesome. They seemed to understand. Then the waiting began when we went to the back of the store so we couldn't see what balloons were being filled... the waiting continued... and continued... over 30 minutes later at the risk of finding out we (including a 2 year old who was loosing patience more than us parents) went to the front of the store. She was side tracked, she said she was getting right on it... Another person came out that we had talked to earlier asked him if he knew anything... He went to find out now too as more time had passed. Came back to tell us they had run out of helium and he was going to fix that right away. He did, that was good for another 10 minutes... Fast forward to waiting... waiting... waiting... and hearing 2 balloons pop. They finally come to get us. The bag is sealed and sinched up tight. Yay!! Everything apparently there... Checkout Begins... We asked if it was our balloons that popped, were told yes. Cool... Honesty... Then she says I will just charge you for the ones that didn't. Then proceeded to charge 3 times the price of the package. Corrected her, that no, that was not the price. She double checked and charged us for the full package... OK... I guess were just paying for the helium of the baloons that didn't pop. They charged us for a weight for the balloons. OK... Offered us the receipt we said no Thank you as the color of the balloons was listed and asked that they throw it away. Fast forward to the reveal... Open the bag for the balloons to come out and voilia! They do!! With no string attached and YES the weight in the bottom of the box so in to the air they go and no photo opportunity. Thanks Party City! More than an hour of my life wasted waiting for 6 balloons to be filled (2 of which popped) for a photo that I should have had 5-7 days to get (Got the cool special helium, at least that is what we paid for.) and only got to see the baloons scatterly fly out. No photo. But we do know the gender... it was a girl. Sorry family and friends you didn't get to partake in the moment and see the picture. Bought a couple packs of Seahawks balloons(24), had them fill them and when I went to pick them up I was told by the rude chubby girl working there that they popped a couple of my seahawks balloons, but replaced them with their solid colored balloons. What?! If I wanted plain balloons I wouldn't have spent the extra money on the logo balloons! Also, a lot of the balloons were under inflated and I doubt they gave me the hi-float that I paid extra for to keep the balloons inflated for longer. We will see... This place sucks. The people who work here wander aimlessly about the store and when asked a question just gesture in the general direction of where things may be located and then walk away immediately before answering any other questions you might have. Manager here is rude. My daughter (3 years old) had to go to the bathroom (#2) and I asked the manager if we needed a key. Clearly we had a full cart of items, so we were paying customers and not some random person from street. She "claimed" both bathrooms were not working. When I asked the lady at the cashier she stated "the reason they're locked is because we've had some strange characters" to which I replied "I completely understand that, however we are paying right now for these items and it's for my daughter". This store has everything!! And it is large and clean, and it has a bathroom. I needed pj masks party stuff, and this store had everything for my party. There certainly is a bunch of party supplies, but it's very expensive. There are cash registers both on the parking lot side and the mall side. The mall side is not open, it's a huge inconvenience for "honest" customers and an even larger opportunity for the "not-so honest" patrons. Came to the party city to get balloons for my kids. Store looked good. However the wait in line was terrible. The way it works is, you do your shopping and get balloons at checkout. This makes the line go slow. I think they should have someone separate to do the balloons, not do them at checkout. I wasn't in a hurry, but if someone was this might bug them. I can't even say that I had bad customer service. It bordered on being rude service. There was no one to help me look for the items that I needed. When I finally found the items that I wanted I got into line. There was one person in front of me. There were 4 people at the counter working but only one line open. The rest I could say where filling balloons but that actually seems to be a stretch since they were standing there talking. I waited for 2 songs to play - "Don't worry be happy" and "Dancing Queen". I looked it up and that means that I stood in line for 9.2 minutes. When I finally did get to the register no one thanked me for waiting, or sorry for the delay or anything. I got online to complain or to do a survey and of course there is no way to contact them. Worst service I have had in awhile. Went to this location today looking for birthday supplies and noticed that the prices were higher and there was no one around to help if you had questions. In the check out there is five registers and one person working. My daughter asked if there was anyone else to work the registers and he said they were working in the back. The line started to get quite long. Finally someone else came to check people out, Both people working the registers were quite rude and unfriendly. I didn't realize Party City had closed so many of it's locations until I needed to buy birthday party supplies for my son this weekend. First, I tried the Party City near the Fred Meyers on 128th - closed. Then I tried Party City near the Fred Meyers on Casino Road - closed. Finally, I googled other Party City locations and found the one at Everett Mall. I was impressed with the size of the location, but really don't like going near the mall. However I was desperate, and figured Party City was the only place that would have the specific, birthday party theme I was looking for. When I began my search for kids "themed" party items, I was shocked to discover that Party City only carried those things on a third of ONE of the many aisles in their store!!! Not even a full aisle of themed, party items for children! And, to make matters worse, they didn't even have the theme we were looking for. My son, during our search, found a cute, stuffed "ninja" that he wanted... so I figured I wouldn't make the trip a total waste and would purchase it for him. When I approached the counter, I witnessed several Party City employees near the registers unpacking boxes, and a few behind the counter near the balloon area... but only one or two people were actually cashiering (out of the several registers they had open). Therefore naturally there was an unnecessary long line of people. Once I finally made it to the register, the cashier gave me a hard time about the fact none of us were lined up in the "proper" area - which was ridiculous. She then asked me for my ID, when I handed her my debit card. When I asked why she needed my ID for a debit card, she said, "We don't work with the debit system at all"... which I personally find peculiar and think it says something about Party City itself. After I handed my ID to the cashier, she questioned me about the fact the card was in my husband's name (of course it's my husband, we have the same last name!). I was annoyed, but confirmed for her that it was my husband's card... she then proceeded to mention how I didn't look like someone who would cost her her job, etc, yet continued to look the debit card over while peering at me skeptically. I finally said, "I really don't need to buy this, if you don't want me to". She then mentioned again how I didn't look like someone that would cost her her job, and finally rang us up for the purchase. It was such an unprofessional and disappointing experience, that I will now forever use Target as our party supply source... where I ended up finding all of the necessary items (at a lower price) that I needed for my son's party anyway! read more
