Told me they will not blow up balloons today because they have so many orders. All the while one of the employees was literally standing there on her phone. They were not accommodating at all. When talking to manger Rochel, we we offered a refund if we bring it back. we live 30 minutes away, so it is. not easy for us and cost gas. Two workers, Kimi and I didn't get the other name were at the end of the counter talking- neither said hello after seeing me enter the store and they just let me sit at the counter with no help for a few minutes until I had to ask if there was anyone to help. Ordered balloons for my daughter's 2nd birthday and had multiple issues. They couldn't find my order, then ultimately didn't even fill half the balloons I ordered and paid for. Seems very understaffed (for years) and the ordering system for balloons is insane. The clerk accidently entered my pickup time for 12 am instead of 12 pm - this shouldn't even be possible. Their systems and procedures need a lot of overhauls to say the least. Very frustrating. I'd rather go without balloons altogether than deal with this again. Had to get some last minute supplies on Sunday for a party that started at 12pm that same day. They opened at 9am during the Halloween season, so that was a bonus for me. Got there a little early and thankfully they opened the doors promptly at 9am. Was looking for balloons for a 1 year old girls party and was thankful they had some balloon bouquets already made up. Grabbed something cute but wanted to add some balloons and change the balloon weight and they were more than happy to oblige. Definitely a younger crowd working at the time I was in, but there were courteous and very helpful with what I needed. Would definitely go back to shop this store. read more

Very disappointed that every time I order balloons from Party City, they are never done on time. This past time, I had ordered a bouquet for a graduation. On my way to the store, I called to make sure order would be ready and was told they were behind. Why are their "employee" problems my problems? I arrived and had to wait 30 minutes while 3 very slow employees filled orders. While watching an employee make two orders before mine and put them in large bags, when he completed mine, I asked if they could put in a bag as well. His reply...."You didn't pay for a bag". Actually, I wasn't offered one at point of sale, but you'd think since he was half hour late with order, it would have been a great moment to help satisfy a customer. When I said as much? I dread going here. Checkout is extremely slow. I waited in front of an employee for five minutes before he acknowledged me. Then another employee asked if I wanted to buy balloons - um, yes, that's why I'm standing in front of the balloon section. He got the ones I asked for and then walked away. It's hard to decide whether the worst feature of this store is the customer service or the ridiculous prices. I've been in the store three times and been disappointed all three times. Their prices are absolutely exorbitant for things that are no better quality than the dollar store. Today I was looking for a very specific item for a work project. According to the party city website, this store had the item in stock. So I drove over to the store and was told they didn't have it. Or they said maybe it was in the back and not on the shelf yet. Either way, I was clearly being very bothersome asking for assistance finding an item they supposedly had in stock. Because even though the website assured me they had it, they were 100% positive that they didn't. And surely no one was actually going to go look. It was suggested that I go to or call another party city store. No apology that I drove to the store looking for something they supposedly had. And no offer to help me locate it at another store. I was instructed to go call the other stores myself and try to find the item. When party city goes out of business, it won't really be a surprise. I get that sometimes the website is wrong. But you apologize to the customer for the inconvenience, and you actually try to help them find a resolution. Even if that means checking in the back of the store to see if the item is there. Or calling the other stores yourself, or at least offering to do that for the customer. But nope - tough luck and you're on your own. It's hard for me to understand this customer service approach when your goal is to sell things. There were at least four people working and no one in the checkout line. I wonder why? Oh right, they don't have the products you want to buy and certainly aren't going to help you find them. This place is disgraceful. read more

Definitely not trying to sound like a Karen, however, this was unnecessary. The employee at checkout was very rude. She just acted like I was nonexistent. I put my card in, entered the pin number, and removed the card like normal. Right after I removed my card the pin pad glitched and went back to the "enter pin" screen. It wouldn't allow me to enter numbers or even press any buttons on the screen. I tried to let her know about it and she kept ignoring me. I had to repeat myself over and over and she still wouldn't listen. She sat there with her arms crossed as if I wasn't there talking to her. She stood like that for a while so I backed away and stood there too with my arms crossed waiting on her. She then proceeded to chat with another employee at checkout and after a minute or so the other employee noticed me. He was asking what the problem was so I explained what was going on. He goes "Yeah, the screen is frozen." I find it crazy because I kept repeating myself over and over but no one listened. He moved me to another register with the same girl. She was mumbling under her breath that she was p!ssed. A couple minutes go by and she still hasn't scanned my item. She kept mumbling stuff under her breath and got another lady to check me out at ANOTHER register. 3 different registers for a single stuffed animal. I don't know what her problem was but I do not tolerate that type of behavior. The last thing I need is a stuck-up employee with lashes that look like the end of a broom. read more

Went Saturday and paid for balloon bouquet. Went to pick up the item today at the time and they were not ready. They asked a girl to help blow up balloons who never did it before and she was playing around more then learning to do the task. They cut the string on balloon too short and spent five minutes trying to get it. One way was tape on a baseball bat. Not worth the time or money. I feel like I just threw $55 out the window (or half of it, anyhow). It's my daughters birthday and she was having her first slumber party to celebrate. I went in to Party City and got some beautiful balloons, paying extra for the high float. Well, it's obvious they didn't bother to put it in. By that evening, the same day I bought them, literally several hours later, at least a half dozen of the balloons were on the ground. By the next day, probably 15. That was Saturday midday I bought them, and it's Monday morning now. I just called to talk to them. Was dealt with by an associate; no manager was willing to get on the line. I was told I had no recourse and that I was out of luck; they only guarantee for 24 hours even with the high float. The fact that I lost several in the first few hours was apparently not on them. Nice customer service. So I recommend you not get the high float in your balloons from party city, but only because I recommend passing on the store entirely. This is the second time I've had issues with their product. There are plenty of other options for me to partronize going forward. read more

Eh, party city is overpriced in my opinion. I can get most of the same stuff at Walmart for half the price. You want to come here for specialty items (like specific parties..showers, over the hills, bachlorette parties, etc.) and they have really cool balloons in here as well. I have been to this location a few times now and each time the customer service has just not been very great. The employees seem very stressed and frantic. If that is going on with regular sales associates, I would hate to see what the managers act like. Placed an order online for a balloon (one balloon!)and plates and napkins to match. Although I ordered them on the same online order the seperated into two different orders on Party Cities site. I specifically stated the date I would pick them up and also the name of who would be picking them up. On said day, Monday, went to pick up the order....the balloon had to be re-blown up which caused it to look wrinkled and old and the plates and napkins were not given the person picking up the order. So, if a customer ( or the person picking up the order) gives the name on the order does the employee not look at the actual order to see what's on it? What's worse is when I called the store the employee kept saying " I'm not sure" to every question I answered. I too am in retail sales and would NEVER treat someone with the total disregard that I was treated with today...a total "who cares" attitude. Giving 2 stars for 2 reasons. My husband and I were planning a gender reveal party and had planned on getting 2 black balloons filled with either pink or blue confetti. My husband went and made the order and the guy who helped him was super nice and understood everything we were asking of him and that is why this review doesn't have 1 star. The next morning my husband went to pick up the balloons and there were no trash bags covering the balloon (we paid for the trash bags) and there was pink confetti sticking to the side of the balloon. Also, the female behind the counter tried to hand him the extra confetti. So needless to say, what was supposed to be a surprise, was ruined for my husband because it was obvious after that it was a girl. She tried to give us our dollar back for not having the trash bag- Gee, thanks. Anyway, if you are planning a gender reveal do not use Party City, I understand not everyone cares and it's not their job to care but come on, help people out every once in a while. read more

I ordered balloons online from Party City. I had called in when I got them if I needed to call ahead to bring them in to fill them up. The associate told me that was not necessary. When I sent my father to have them inflated for my sons birthday party my father was turned away and told they would not air up the balloons until after 5pm (this was at 10am). When my father told her that we were informed that we were told we didn't have call in advance and that we had purchased the balloons from Party City the associate was extremely rude to my father, told him too bad, and then looked behind him and said "Next!" to the client behind him. My father asked if there was anything that could be done and she exclaimed "NOPE!". So then we had to go to another store and pay a lot more to have them filled for my sons party. These were not cheap balloons I purchased. I spent $80 on these and then had to spend another $40 airing them up elsewhere. Will not be using Party City again. read more

This was my 2nd visit within the last 2 weeks and both times only one person was checking people out at the register with long lines waiting. Four other people standing behind the counter at the other end laughing and some blowing up balloons even though no one in line was waiting on balloons! No one offered to come help check people out either times I was at the store and instead everyone had to wait. The Party City in McKinney, Texas has poor service, is unorganized, and has low quality costumes. If you are looking for a store to easily get costumes or other party supplies, Party City is not the store to go to. The obstacle course of unwanted Halloween items made it challenging to navigate the aisle. Finding a costume was difficult to find because items were in the wrong places, and the entire section was very unorganized. In other areas, for parties, it's neater and organized. Furthermore the aisles for plates, napkins, and tablecloths are color coordinated. The employees were not up to the task of the Halloween season. The process of obtaining a costume to try on is unorganized and confusing. Actually locating an employee to ask for a costume takes more time than it should. Once you find one and are given costumes the employee disappears. You're left standing there is mass confusion not knowing where to go to try on the costume. While standing in the store looking at the huge wall of possible costume pictures, no employee is in sight. There is no one asking if help is needed or if a costume is needed to be delivered. The isles are only a few feet apart so there isn't much room to walk. In each isle there are so many items on the walls it would take hours to look through all of them. This is annoying when trying to find a specific product. It is hard to find a specific item because there is such a variety and abundance of product. Unfortunately their costume quality is poor and is overpriced. The fabric the costumes are made out of are cheap. The costumes fall apart easily; some even falling apart in the store before being purchased. The dressing rooms in this Party City are very small. The mirror inside the dressing room is so small seeing the entirety of the costume is impossible. Finding the dressing room is confusing and almost impossible if you are not looking closely. They are placed in the middle of a random isle. They are makeshift rooms with no door, but instead three walls with a curtain. Unfortunately, I did not have a positive experience at this Party City location. I do not recommend going to this store. It is unorganized, has poor service and poor quality costumes. read more

They made an extra unauthorized charge to my credit card and got rude when I demanded that they immediately correct their mistake. When I asked that they contact their manager and explain the situation the employee refused and told me that I could contact their district manager myself.
