I am going to give away some of my criteria for writing a book store a five star experience. It's rare for a bookstore to meet every criteria. To me a bookstore has to have an amazing selection, great customer service, fair prices, and a really nice vibe and atmosphere. This Barnes and Noble hits on everyone of those standards! This Barnes and Noble is inside of Stonebriar mall in Frisco. When I first walked in, I thought it to be a small store until I saw the escalators which brought me downstairs to a whole different level. Essentially, this is a full size, Barnes and Noble, and more! They even had sections that I have not seen in any other Barnes & Noble store. They had a whole selection of toys and games. They also had sections for different age groups on the activity toys. What I really enjoyed about the atmosphere here though, is all of the activity I saw. I saw family sitting down in the kids, section with parents reading to their children. I saw teenagers that were obviously walking in the mall that had stopped in the road to look at the young teen section and sit down with books. I saw families browsing together, individuals, browsing together and groups of all ages, checking out things, or sitting in nooks reading books. It was really a great vibe, and this place seem to be a community gathering place. Barnes & Noble has several different ways to score some bargains in their store. What is the typical look for the sales. For example, on this particular trip I saw several tables that had relatively new released books on sale for half price. You can get great prices also by becoming a member of their royalty buyers program. They have a couple different options on that depending on whether you're a casual reader and shopper or you're an avid reader, and shopper. I do not read as much as I used to so these days the free membership makes the most sense for me. Anyway, I have learned that not all Barnes and Noble's are created equally and this is a really great Barnes and Noble! Review #2094

Nice bookstore, was packed a couple of days before Christmas. Love wandering around and picking up a book or two.

This Barnes and Noble is one of the biggest aside from the one in Dallas. They have a lot of space in the cafe area to come grab a coffee and sit. Other Barnes and noble don't have their cafe open or seating in general. If you want to grab a puzzle or decently priced books this place is it. Half price books is cheaper, but I enjoy the atmosphere at B&N better. You should read "the alchemist" best book ever. Anyway, cafe is clean, place is in tact, and staff is friendly.

Really nice 2-level bookstore loaded with merchandise for all ages, and many genres. Escsalate yourself between the 2 floors, restrooms on Floor 1. BONUS: on Floor 2 the spacious Barnes & Noble Café serves fresh-brewed Starbucks brand coffees, and B&N food & pastries. A cooler full of popular soft drinks, waters, energy & juices for grab & go also. The Café has a dozen small tables, and 2 bigger ADA tables. Stroller at tables is easy, and 2 child highchairs. The floorplan, and nicely visible labels make this a quick scan, or you can go on safari through all the bookracks, and genres. The multi-level marketing here makes book hunting, or gift hunting quite an adventure with all the choices for all age levels.

One of my favorite Barnes & Nobles locally. It is a nicer and newer B&N, and much bigger and better than the two in Plano and this location is even 2-stories. The cafe on the second level is a little more standard but still spacious. There's also a reading area in this location, similar to the one by Northpark. Additionally, it's located in a shopping mall in case if you want to walk around window shopping. They serve Starbucks coffee in their B&N cafe (which means they don't take the rewards card or whatever). This is a nicer bookstore that has tables and seating INSIDE the bookstore allowing for one to sit and even look through books than having to leave the premises like the others. If you want to use the Starbucks rewards, there's a Starbucks outpost inside the mall very close by this place. Go there of the rewards point matters so much, and then come back here. There's also plenty of places to eat/snack around here as well as shopping. As far as parking-and-shopping goes, this Barnes & Nobles may be the best location. Of course, except when it's crowded in the weekends. Ranking of top B&N in Dallas: 1. (tie) Northpark 1. (tie) Stonebriar (Frisco) 2. Firewheel (Garland) 3. (tie) Addison 3. (tie) Lewisville 3. (tie) Preston Hollow Tie for last: East Plano, Willow Bend

I may be a bit biased, but I love this store because they will actually make changes based off of customer feedback!

Poor customer service. Spoke with manager about an issue and got nowhere. Won't be coming back - the Plano store is way better.

I called to see about getting my grandson's Bible repaired. It looked like he had played a few…read moregames of basketball with it. The back was off, but the inside Bible itself was intact. The price quoted was a lot with a 10 week wait! But after they explained what repair entailed and what to look for when purchasing a BIble that lasts, I understood. I didn't get the name of the person that spoke to me, but she had excellent customer service skills and she used them, taking time to explain the process so very kindly. I decided to just buy the kid a new Bible (one not glued, but sown together, her recommendation) but if I ever need a book repair service, they will surely get my business. And, I'll be sure to pass on their info. Customer service is a lost art, but not at The Book Doctor!

If you want a quick-and-dirty commercial fix, this is not your place. But if you are looking for a European time machine that will take a beloved book back to what it was or even better, this is the spot for you. We came to the Book Doctor with a small devotional, quite honestly a lost cause with no cover or binding and several severely damaged pages. We were hoping for some sort of cover and binding to preserve it since it is of great sentimental value and over 90 years old. What we received back was a gorgeous gem, a true made-to-order family heirloom. Not only was the cover beautiful, the binding is a work of art and pages we thought were lost forever were delicately and expertly restored. We stand amazed. Again, if you expect to do it on the cheap and have it by next week, forget it. But if the book in question matters to you and you budget for time and money, plan in advance, make an appointment with one of their experts, then expect the best. These are artisans who will pour all their skill and experience into your valued piece and devote entire days solely to its restoration.
