Needed some last minute balloons for a baby shower. I tried calling multiple times day-of before I drove there to see if I could pre-order some basic helium latex balloons to expedite my check out process. Never got an answer. This place is usually dead, during Halloween it packs up. Regardless of traffic it's not easy to find someone for help and service is slow. Selection-wise, not bad for your last minute party needs. If you're not on a time crunch, Amazon has a better selection at a cheaper cost. Big selection of foil balloons though! That'd be the only reason I'd come back here.

The staff is incredibly rude. My son was in the way of Des, I believe the store manager and she actually put her hands on him and roughly moved him out of the way. He's 5! She didn't say excuse me. She seemed to run the place like the navy when it's a party city. Des did not smile and was not friendly. She looked miserable, angry and scary. Balloons took 30 minutes to blow up. It was a long wait for everyone but the aggressiveness wasn't necessary. You don't ever put your hands on someone else's child. People go into Party City to celebrate fun events, this place has such bad vibes. They also handed me my balloons with the strings tangled said they couldn't put a weight on it after I purchased the weight. By the time I left the store it was a 50 min wait for inflation with zero line inside the store.

Date of most recent visit - July 17, 2018 It's Comic-Con season again, and I realized that I needed one more accessory for the Indiana Jones cosplay I was planning: the whip. So, after going online and seeing that Party City had them in stock, I made the trip up to Carmel Mountain Ranch to snag one. Ever wonder what Party City looks like in the off-season before Halloween? Well... it's rather clean, but it's also a bit on the empty side in terms of costumes and accessories. Most of the product available are for birthday parties, picnics, barbecues, and the such. While they do have basic costume themes - police, Roaring Twenties (who dresses in that theme for costume parties, anyway?), pirates, gladiators, and Western - surprisingly the Star Wars and superheroes themes aren't on the shelves at the time of this writing. While I did eventually find my bullwhip (about $7), it was in the Western section where it was a bit harder to find. I also went to their dime store candy section, where I got a dollar's worth of single-wrapped Twizzlers and Swedish Fish to give me a much needed sugar rush while trekking to the urban wilderness that's the Exhibit Hall at the Convention Center. Party City really gets going during the holidays, but if you need some balloons and party decorations, they're worth a look as well.

    Ballooons so cuteee!

Party City was exactly what I expected it to be- especially since its the end of September and very close to to October ---HALLOWEEN! Lots of Halloween decorations, costumes galore along with a whole bunch of candy and selection of balloons. We had walked in looking for Hawaiian items - which I later found out were called Leis. My boyfriend actually was playfully joking that "I will get you "Lei'd" tonight which I did not understand until he put the fluttering flowers on me. Made a lot of sense there. We ended up asking an employee when we could not find the Hawaiian items which she helpfully directed us to Aisle 5. The leis we picked out were apparently on the wrong price, but because it was the entire stack and mislabeled, we got it for the price it was mislabeled. Pretty helpful and we basically went in and out. Not much of a problem.

I have been to Gypsy Treasure several times in the past, but this was my first visit since they have moved to the Grossmont Center location (apparently about five years ago). I came in about 5 days before Halloween, primarily in search of makeup and a crown for my Day of the Dead festival look. When I walked in, the place was pretty hopping. However, I was quickly greeted at the makeup counter and walked through the white face paint options, and given information about some of the various color palettes. After some conversation and deliberation, I chose a white water-based face paint and a couple of color palettes. One was glow-in-the-dark. I then asked about flower crowns, and was surprised to find that they only had one. It was one of those cheesy costume kits that came with skeleton hand gloves and skull earrings, neither of which I wanted. However, the price was pretty inexpensive, so I purchased it just for the crown. I looked around for a hat for my husband's costume, but couldn't find exactly what he wanted, though they had some pretty unique hats. Gypsy Treasure has a large selection of costumes for rent, which appeared to be of much higher quality than the costumes for sale. I saw several cute vintage dresses and hats for women, as well as some pretty elaborate costumes. I did feel that several of the costume items in the front of the store were the same quality you would get from any Halloween store. However, I would definitely return for makeup, or if I had costume needs outside of the Halloween season.

It wasn't enforced upon walk in but I wanted to respect the business. I was really nervous putting my backpack in there as it is right in front of the door and anyone could just grab and go. That made me uneasy while shopping and it made me breeze through the store quicker than I had liked and I didn't get a chance to fully look. So right away one tip I would have for management is to put that bin behind the counter to ensure safety. In regard to the selection, this place is extremely eclectic and had vintage costume pieces as well as newer. There were novelty items, even some bondage costumes, period costumes, and just a lot of really fun pieces. The prices were right on point and didn't feel too costly. They have two dressing rooms that had really cute themes. For a small store, there were a lot of different rooms and nooks. I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely go back. I just wouldn't bring a backpack or big bag that day.

I…read morewas too busy these past few days with the passing of one of our family members and it seems that we don't feel like decorating this year. YESTERDAY we visited our favorite store for Halloween, "SPIRIT HALLOWEEN", to see what we could add this year. As always SPIRIT HALLOWEEN always sold us good ANIMATRONICS for our Haunted House. LAST YEAR our Best Buy from them were these 2 TALL FLAMING FIRES that I put on both sides of my DEVILISH looking CHAIR surrounded with HUGE ANIMATRONICS. But this year when we came to visit Spirit Halloween there weren't many selections for me, but we were still able to purchase a few. I just don't know if I'm going to be able to put out all of my ANIMATRONICS and set them up, power them up to move, and make them make sounds with phrases. I will try my best, but no promises 'coz I really feel bad to those KIDS who come every year, my Haunted house even lasts until 12 MIDNIGHT. Well I had to close my Gate at 12 am or people wont stop coming , plus at night it gets creepier, I don't see kids anymore, but I see teens and adults going down from their car with BEAUTIFUL costumes still trick or tricking at my house ;) Again, most of these ANIMATRONICS that makes my house HAUNTED on HALLOWEEN are mostly from the "SPIRIT HALLOWEEN STORE". And again, this year I'm not sure if I can put them up 'coz unboxing them, putting them up, and making them move and talk and plus the Lighting takes a lot of time and we aren't sure if we are gonna make it in time. Sorry in advance to those who come every year. Our 17 year old dog just passed away and my regular routine slowed down. ***ATTENTION Corporate Leaders***…read more My cousin & I were disrespected & humiliated at Spirit Halloween - CaminoTENT #60754 in Westfield Mission Valley Mall on 10/25/22 at 4:19PM by Cashier Jana (3363793) & her Unknown Shift Lead at Register 4, Transaction #2666. I purchased a Superman costume at this location on 10/21. Because the receipt machine wasn't working, the employee who rung me up wrote down the receipt information [View Picture of receipt] & stated that after today, 10/21, only exchanges can be allowed. On Tuesday, 10/25, I returned to the store to exchange the costume. Once I got to the register I stated: "I would like to exchange this costume for a different one. It did not fit right." The cashier, named "Jana," inspected the bag & noticed there was a miniature plastic bag inside. I stated: "Oh, it must have been what the cape was in." Jana stated: "We cannot take an item back once the 'accessories' have been open." I stated: "I was unaware of this policy." Showing her the makeshift receipt I was given, I stated: "Seeing as I was unaware of this policy & was given a receipt with no Return/Exchange Policy stated, can you make an exception?" Jana then retrieved her Supervisor/Shift Lead, who was not wearing a Name Badge at the time. Unknown "Lead": "We cannot take an item back once the 'accessories' have been open." I stated: "I understand your policy, but I was unaware of this policy when I bought it nor does it say anything on my [makeshift] receipt." Unknown Lead: "We tell all our customers this before they buy them." I stated: "I understand that, but 'I' was not told this when I bought it." Unknown Lead claimed: "... I was there when she rung you up. So 'I know' she said it to you." I was baffled at her claim stating that she was "there" when that employee who wrote me a receipt rung me up. Jana stated: "... we're still following COVID rules, we can return a costume because we can wash it. We can't wash accessories." I stated: "... but the [Superman's] cape is the same [material] as the costume, it can be washed..." Unknown Lead: "As we said [with an unsympathetic demeanor]... we can't return accessories once they've been opened." Jana: "We can swap it out for the same costume [which didn't make sense], but it has to be the same one." As we went back & forth, additional "rules" regarding exchanges were spewing out of Jana & Unknown Lead's mouths. The line began to grow, growing past the end of the line wrapping around the store, with only 1 register open - the resister that my cousin & I were at. I stated: "Look, I'm not hear to fight & we're clearly holding up the line. Is there anything you can do for us?" Unknown Lead: "We cannot make the exchange.." With gawking eyes staring us down from the growing line, we embarrassingly took my Superman costume, leaving the store without even an apology. As my cousin & I walked back to my car, we examined the costume bag itself. As we took out the miniature bag which was supposed to hold Superman's cape, we looked at it & realized it read: "Halloween Spider Costu... dysuit with Mask, Adult XXXL" [View Picture of bag]. My cousin & I remained calm and returned to the register. Fortunately we were at Jana's register again - to not have to explain our whole story. The Unknown Lead returned to the register. We told her what happened and that the miniature bag inside the Superman costume packaging was from the Spider-Man mask I have at my home. Unknown Lead stated: "Well... all the capes are still in separate packaging..." My cousin stated: "No, they are not. We checked all the costumes. The capes are attached." The Unknown Lead sends Jana to check ALL the Superman costumes, not even acknowledging my cousin's or my presence while Jana is doing her investigation. Jana returns to the register & quietly states to her lead: "The capes are attached..." Our transaction was Completed. I was able to exchange my costume for another one... HOWEVER, not once did the Unknown Lead or Jana apologize for their behavior and their wrongful actions against my cousin & me. As the transaction was finished, I thanked Jana for the exchange. Walking out the tent with my cousin, the Unknown Lead was standing at the doorway... unapologetic. No sorry for being wrong, no sorry for humiliating us in front of the whole store, and no sorry that we had to go through all this to do a simple exchange of a costume. To Jana, I understand that you were just "doing your job" & complying with your "Lead." But to the Unknown Lead, shame on you. You profiled us as "Karen's" trying to pull the wool over your eyes to get our money back. We in fact spent more money for the exchange. I may have left with a better costume, but we lost our respect for Spirit Halloween stores. I understand that this is a Seasonal Job and that Jana's & the Unknown Lead's job will end next week, but that doesn't give employees the right to disrespect costumers like that.
