Another 5 years has gone by and I needed a special wedding anniversary card. Nothing has changed in the past 5 years and that's a good thing! The staff is still friendly as ever! There are rows and rows of cards to choose from! Let's be honest, greeting cards are expensive but when two people are celebrating 55 years of marriage...you splurge! The store is bright and cheery with gifts, tchotchkes, and even little toys. I didn't browse the store this time, but they're ready for the holiday season! We came to browse the store after getting cookies at crumbl next door. This store has so many adorable gifts I haven't seen anywhere else. They have a big variety or snoopy gifts as well as the office which i LOVED! Customer service was good and the location is very clean and organized. read more

Accessibility: accessible/handicap parking directly in front of the building and a ramp to get up to the sidewalk. The doors are pull doors to enter, carpet inside, brightly lit. Experience: I absolutely love Hallmark stores; they are very sentimental. They have so many beautiful cards, clothing, Christmas ornaments, blankets, fuzzy socks, snow globes, all kinds of beautiful gifts (and right now they have a ton of Christmas things). Plain and simple, picking out a graduation card for my grad was very easy here. Hallmark stores are on the decline as I see it, but this branch has very friendly staff and was well stocked with a nice selection of grad cards. I picked it out, made my way up front, and was on my way in under 10 minutes. They even handed me a nice gold seal for the envelope. Nice touch. read more

Does one really need 50 card selections vs. 10? The rest of the shop is a mixture of small gift items and a gaudy bunch of knick knacks. I've been shopping here for a few years. Its a Hallmark store, so I know to expect cutesy things at crazy prices. I love coming in after Christmas and catching some markdowns, but I also buy most of my regular priced ornaments here before Christmas, too, so while I'm not here often, in December and January I spend a small fortune here. I've seen some reviews about rudeness and I'm sad about that, because when I've been in the store, I have always been treated kindly and professionally. They've ordered things from other stores for me and in 2015, they even tracked down the free gift that they were out of, at another store, had it transferred in and hooked me up with it! I thought that was really outstanding customer service. Overall, I like this store and will continue going here and hopefully will continue to receive the great service I've been lucky enough to have so far. read more

Love the staff and the products!! Whether it is the staff dressed up in Disney costumes or the helpful service OR the lovely items that I find every time that I come, I never leave disappointed! I was offered a replacement item for a defective item that I had purchased from the same store and without me having to ask, the owner/manager offered a new one no questions asked. So I wasn't going to write this place up but after seeing the complaints of rudeness, I had to.... I actually gave them the benefit of 2 stars because one of the employees was very sweet. The other two... One was stocking cards right next to me and never once acknowledged me. The three of them were working on some type of hold over the phone and they all focused on that and ignored everyone in the store. Must have been some special merchandise to ignore everyone else! 10 minutes to closing one of them bellows out "We're closing in 10 minutes" and then proceeded to start vacuuming and cut out the Christmas music and the whole experience. She even made a joke about being rude by vacuuming while customers were in the store. There was an elderly couple looking for an ornament. She was definitely old enough to know what customer service should be. How about you help out your paying customers rather than working on your end of shift chores DURING business hours!! Thought this store was great bc it is not a "corporate" Hallmark store but that lost my business for sure. read more

You can't go wrong with good old Hallmark. I come in here looking for a card and I end up spending at least 20 minutes here going up and down the aisles and seeing all the different things they have. They have every little trinket you can possibly imagine for every occasion. They have the candles, scarves, wine glasses, flasks, tree ornaments, potpourri, candy, jewelry, picture frames, and the list goes on and on. So I get back on track to find the one card I came here for. You can choose from cards that are 99 cents to fancy light up and singing cards. The staff are friendly and they have a rewards program that I signed up for as I am checking out m. I think it's buy six cards and then you get one free or something like that. If you ever have time to kill strolling around Hallmark is a fun way to pass the time! read more

Rude staff experience. My fiancé and my mom and I went in last night and were browsing for a few minutes when the employee at the register said to us loudly from the register "We close in 20 minutes, thanks." She clearly didn't want us there so we set down the items we were looking at and left. There definitely could have been a nicer way to let us know of the store hours. We won't be back. read more

I've been coming here forever, but was put off by my last visit. We got there five minutes to 6. Didn't know they closed earlier on Saturday. Told us promptly that they were closing in three minutes. I said no problem, we know what ornaments we want and we'll be right out. I had asked a question about one of the ornaments. She proceeded to help another lady and never helped me. I felt like all they were concerned about was getting the heck out of there, so I put everything back and had to be let out of the locked door. Went in here to find a birthday card for a coworker. I walked around the card section several times to find that there was not even one single option for "co-worker" in their entire inventory. Most of the cards were inappropriate or geared towards adolescents or children or childish humor. I couldn't even find an employee to ask if they carried "co-worker" cards. I finally found a card that would work that had a ridiculous cost of $5.99. I took it to the register and there was no one there to help me check out. I looked around and found absolutely no one in the store! So after waiting for a few more minutes and still not a single employee around, I left the card on the counter and walked out. I went in looking for gifts for a few people. Nobody acknowledge me when I walked in. Fine. I already had my mind was set on getting a couple Christmas ornaments ... however 2 women were standing in front of a section of the display and blocking the whole isle. When I reached where they were standing, neither of them moved in any way. So I turned around, walked down the isle behind me, and had to go down a different isle just to look at the display next to them. My mom ended up saying "excuse me, we're trying to look at the ornaments" to which they moved SLIGHTLY to the side, still in the way, still talking like we were an inconvenience. One of the women is an employee!! Eventually they stopped talking and moved. By then, I gave up on the idea of ornaments and began looking at other things in the store. There was 3 women behind the registers gossiping away (literally talking about someone else's private business) and never once acknowledged me, my mom, or anyone else that walked in. I honestly felt like an inconvenience going to pay for my items!! When I placed my items on the counter, one of the women said, "Did you find something?" I replied shortly, "yup " but inside I was thinking, "No I'm just randomly putting stuff on the counter". The women who "helped" me was the women blocking the ornaments. She didn't greet me in any way. Just rang up my stuff. This shop, by far, has the worse customer service I have ever experienced!!! To make things worse, when I went next door to game stop to get my son, there were people in there talking about how poor the customer service is at Hallmark. I'll never go back to this location. I have shopped at many hallmark stores before and always had a great experience, however, today at the hallmark in San Marcos , I had a horrible experience. The store manager, Joan, was extremely rude. I wasn't greeted when walking into the store , okay, but the service at the cash register was the worst I have had. It was clear that she doesn't want to pretend to be friendly, courteous or helpful. I wouldn't consider going back to this location . I would rate her service (very slow day too) as below adequate . I come here every year as a tradition for my kids. 21 years of getting ornaments from Hallmark. Had a night planned with all my kids. One whom drove herself here from out of town and you're closed. Update your hours please this was a real disappointment. read more
