New name. Party Works. They have practically everything but be prepared to pay for it! I wished they would work on reducing prices.

For some odd reason, they typically have many types of doormats and various other "thing-a-ma-gigs", like analog wall clocks. It is best to go when they have a 50% off sale, and then you can save. They do serve a diverse crowd, and one can see Cal Poly students of all types, including international students. The younger crowd goes mostly for dorm furnishings, while the older locals go for fabric, plastic flowers, and crafts. The service here is really nice at checkouts, but you can feel kind of neglected in store...but not as forgotten as in many Big Box or discount stores. As far as where one wants to shop, it is not like Amazon has moral superiority, over here. At the very least, HL does let you touch the items that one contemplate getting. This is more important when one wants to hang a clock in ones living area for example. Many clocks and other items have deceptively rendered near-fake pictures on Amazon for many items, not to mention fake reviews. It is kind of fun to stop in here for targeted missions that could also include World Market, Nordstroms, and off course Sprouts. If one is on a discount mission, then the nearby Ross's, Five Below, and a short drive to the nearby TJX, Home Goods, Dollar Tree, & Grocery Outlet can take up a whole weekend of time.

The room itself is definitely a unique experience and the cave-style design is really fun to see in person. The staff throughout the property were extremely nice and accommodating, which we really appreciated. That said, for the price of the room I do feel like some upgrades and maintenance would make a big difference. The AC unit in our room was very old and looked like it had been repaired with packing tape. It was a very hot day and the temperature in the room was difficult to balance, either very humid or too cold. We also noticed some electrical issues. There were only a few outlets available and several were connected with plug extenders rather than power strips, which made it difficult to plug in things like phone chargers. Some of the outlets looked quite old and could probably use updating. There also weren't any outlets near the bed. The crank windows didn't latch closed and the bathroom window wouldn't open. The bed was decent and they did provide plenty of pillows, which was nice. Overall, I'm still glad we stayed and finally got to experience one of the themed rooms. The Madonna Inn is such a unique place and the staff were wonderful. I just think putting a bit more of the room revenue back into maintenance and updates would really help the experience match the price.

The Gold Rush Steakhouse and the cocktail bar are absolutely gorgeous, with pink decor from floor to ceiling and a pink girl lover's (like me) dream ambiance. The food is pretty typical and a bit overpriced, but portions are generous and big enough to share. A slice of the champagne is the highlight to any meal.

Said to go to website & then text her what I wanted. Asked the recipients names, and where to be delivered, and message for the card. Why did this shop leave 1 note? But leave the other card absolutely and completely blank? It was literally 6 words. 1 recipient is not known in the area. The other, is widely known. It should not matter who the recipients are. They should get equal treatment. Not to mention I gave directions. They delivered it NEXT DOOR. Can't miss the numbers on the front. What happened? Was SO excited to leave a review. Feels like I paid and florist decided who got words & who got a blank card. Thankfully I was able to retrieve BOTH orders from next door neighbor. So disappointed.

Imagine having a hat that no one else on the planet has?? The experience included champagne and two different plates of charcuterie!! Everyone used their creativity to build their own final product. What a wonderful concept!! Kate's staff spent considerable time with each of us to help make our individual accessory choices come together to produce our amazing, individual creations. With choices ranging from feathers, to pins, ribbons, leather cords, glitzy chains, animal print bands, playing cards, strips of lace and flowers...you can go as simple or ornate as you want. Each person pays for their hat and its accessories (so the more ornate you go, the more you'll pay and keeping the decor more simple will correlate to a lower price). There are hat styles and sizes to fit everyone...colors from cream, hot pink, blue, shades of brown, green, dusty rose, grey, black and cinnamon. You can even add initials in a 'brand' to your hat. The coolest thing is that these are privately booked events, so the focus is on you and your group (no walk-ins to disturb or distract from your experience). I can't recommend this experience highly enough and hope they stay in business for many years to come (as I suspect the next nearest state that offers something like this may be Texas)!
