If your family takes its eating as seriously as the rest of America, then what makes you think you can just skimp on the fun decor? It's okay to be a little extra when it comes to Thanksgiving decorations, arguably the most underrepresented holiday in the decor game, and thanks to Party City, you can let your freak flag fly high and gobble til you wobble this year! Want to stick your face through a large foam piece of pumpkin pie and wear it like a hat/mask? Done. Don't have much of a sweet tooth? Wear a foam turkey hat instead. Afraid of hat head? Throw on a pair of turkey shades and sit next grandpa - you might have to give him a nudge to wake him out of his turkey coma, but that's showbiz, baby. The possibilities are endless at Party City, so don't @ me -- there's something for everyone. In all seriousness, if Party City can pack three large display racks to the gills with a variety of fun and festive Thanksgiving party supplies, mix 'n match paper goods, photo booth props, turkey dinner to go bags, turkey lanterns, garland, dish towels, and DIY pilgrim hats for the kiddos, in addition to the countless other aisles chock full of party supplies, then it's my firm belief they can make any holiday a little extra. Party City is what it would be like if Charming Charlie's (the accessories store, RIP) got in the party biz: everything is organized by color, and probably made in China. Can I mention their balloon game is poppin'! I ordered a few basic balloon "arrangements" for an event I threw recently, and not only did they blow them up with some of that premium grade A, hard to find helium, but they also attached strings, anchored them to cute little balloon weights I purchased, and perfectly sized/spaced them out, achieving that height/aspect ratio only realized by a true balloon master. Just another reminder that there's genius walking among us, and not all heroes wear capes. In closing, I walked in just wanting to place the balloon order, half expecting this place to be a glorified dollar store, with aisles looking more like the morning after a wild rave than those belonging to a neat and tidy, "we have everything," party supply store, but boy was I wrong! I was blown away by all the goodies packed inside this party in a vanilla box, ranging from the in your face Thanksgiving display (it saw me coming from the parking lot, I never stood a chance against that beast) to the super helpful staff (shout out to Rosey and Malika for modeling some photo booth props, and just being generally awesome people/Party City employees). I can't speak for all Party Cities, but this location was a slam dunk, and I 100% would return to this particular location to see what my homegirls, Rosey and Malika, have in store for the Christmas schwag, and to see what seasonal flare I can add to an event or dining room near you! read more

This was the first Party City I ever visited. Wow! It's like fun central. Word of warning, don't take your small children here, because everything is shiny and sparkles. They will want to have it all. But it's an amazing place that has all the fun and fanciful trinkets you could ever want. Steampunk gear? Check. Feather boas in ever shade of the rainbow? Check. Bags and bags of cheap giveaway tchotchkes? Check. More shapes and styles of balloons than you could ever imagine. Costumes, party supplies, cards, ribbons, and whatever you need to make anything festive. It's a great place just to walk around and look for inspiration. And I also imagine it would be a perfect place for someone to come in and attempt to shake a minor case of Seasonal Affective Disorder. read more

Very decent party supply store, quite huge, with an ample supply of themed items for kids parties and all sorts of extras, from silly hats to plastic ware. The store is a bit odd to navigate - there are almost too many choices, and the theme and occasion grouping make it a bit hard to find "generic" things, but wandering around the aisles lead me to everything I was looking for. I also got a custom balloon filled with helium, and they have a huge selection of these, lots of different theme items for many occasions. From the looks of things, they put on a lot of extra seasonal items depending on the time of year - I expect given the volume of costumes this is probably a decent halloween store, if you are the prefab costume kind of person. Downtick, though, on the rating for having somewhat expensive prices on the items which are otherwise available elsewhere (cf. Michael's). 49 cents for a plastic lei? Aloha, indeed! The staff today were a bit tetchy for some reason, although this was by observation with interactions with other customers, not me personally. Inadvertently hilarious sign today in their window, I wish I'd thought to take a picture of: in BIG LETTERS; "SALE ALL ITEMS $1" and then there's an asterisk, and at the bottom in small print, it says "Limited to selected items". read more

I came to Party City to buy 20 pounds of beef for a party of the unofficial Carnivore Society Of New York. To my extreme dismay, the store does not sell beef, even though the name, "Party City", suggests an inventory to serve parties, the store has failed it's customers. If you want to find quality party materials like beef, take your business else where!! read more

I am not exaggerating when I say this is the most unprofessional party city on earth. They consistently are under-staffed, rude, and inattentive. On my most recent visit, we had dropped off balloons to be filled for a party a day before the event. We scheduled them for pick up the next day at 4pm and they assured us they would be ready for the surprise party on time. We arrived to the store a few minutes before 4:00 and of course they had not even began filling our order because they had "too many walk-ins today", which begs the question, why even bother scheduling a filling if they won't be ready on time or prioritized before walk-ins. We sat and wasted 20 minutes waiting for them to fill our balloons, only for them to pop one of the large numbers and tell us the other in the set was "defective" they tried to make us pay for a new number to go with the set which if we didn't, wouldn't match our theme or the other balloons. Safe to say, we are very unsatisfied with this experience- however, not surprised. Avoid at all costs. read more
