After reading a Yelp review posted by Shushsnik P, I learned that a Party City store was still in existence. Some of you may recall that Party City stores across the country shut down and went out of business within the last two years. My wife and I happened to be in the area, so we decided to visit this store for nostalgia's sake, since we used to be big fans of Party City stores. Upon entering this store, the first thing I noticed was how fully stocked and well organized everything was from end to end and side to side. There was so much to see, so many colors of various types of merchandise and balloons everywhere. I grabbed a shopping cart and off we went. We walked every single aisle and were happy to see many of the same types of items we had purchased in the past when hosting numerous themed parties and school activities that required them. We added numerous items we wanted to use for our daughter's upcoming high school graduation and upcoming birthday. Sure, we could have possibly ordered these items on Amazon and saved a few cents, but I still like to touch and hold the items I wish to buy in my hands and see them up close for myself, instead of simply viewing everything on a computer screen and/or on my cell phone. Call me old-fashioned As we paid for our merchandise, the cashier explained that the reason this store and four other Party City stores still existed in Southern California was that they were independently owned. The bankruptcy of Party City recently forced all stores to close; however, independently owned stores were not impacted. This was a positive shopping experience, customer service was great and I am happy that Party City lives on. read more

I have been to different Party City stores, but this by far is my favorite. You can literally find anything and everything from birthday cards, candles, balloons, paper plates, cups, napkins, nice decorative objects to celebrate any event from birthday to wedding, graduation, to bridal and baby showers and holidays. During the holidays they have great deals/sales going on for up to 50%. Isn't that wonderful?? Employees are very nice, helpful and just simply great in every way. Store is big, clean and very easy to browse around and see what you can find. If you can't find something, they are right by your side to help you. Few days ago I walked in a little before closing time and was looking for a birthday card for my son who soon will be turning 30. Also got candles for him and to have extra in the house. This literally is a one stop store for all of your party needs! Don't go anywhere else and I am not getting no commission to speak so highly of this lovely, bright, beautiful store. I love this location. It's always so organized and fully stocked! I really appreciate how this store is laid out compared to my local Party City. Customer service here is definitely more friendly too. I came by recently to look for some birthday party supplies, including party favors and birthday candles. They have such a big selection of everything. The aisles are organized by birthday theme, so you can get everything you need and have it match. I feel like prices are pretty good here too. Great display of balloons and holiday items. I just love walking around here. It always inspires me of how I can take a party to the next level. Party City is definitely a one stop shop for all of your party planning needs, especially for kids birthdays! Parking here is awesome, they have a huge lot in front. read more

They have a huge selection -- whether it's birthdays, holidays, baby showers, or last-minute decorations, I can usually find everything I need in one trip. The aisles are well-organized, and the themed sections make shopping quick and easy. Staff is generally friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to balloon orders or locating hard-to-find items. The Party is not always at this city, but the service usually is good and plenty, which they ironically have tons of. I stop in once in a while for accessory items (the life of an amateur cosplayer) as well as party going things for weddings, showers and birthdays on occasion and can usually find at least one thing I need, but not much more. My huge hang up with PC of Sherman Oaks is their stock is bare...WAY too often... Being the local larger party supply place around I know they can get shopped hard with a few empty shelves and spaces though there can sometimes be a wait it's usually brief compared to the Reseda or Burbank stores, which have more foot traffic and much longer check-out times. The parking lot is spacious and almost never full, shared with CVS and neighboring businesses, including Anejo Cantina, Jimmy Au's For Men and Fazio Cleaners to name a few. Good for last minute quick things like themed party plates, cups and balloons for sure as someone mentioned. I'll check their stock again closer to Halloween to see what's new or actually in, if much. read more

Huge! Has every need for every party idea and is so big, will actually *give* you party ideas. They have most of what you're looking for even though I didn't find the actual Halloween costume I hoped to get. Very convenient to neighbors in the area, but because of the crazy parking lot and high prices, I don't usually make a point to come here any longer. read more

I don't know why there's so many 1 stars on here, but I went in at 10 a.m. this morning, and Brian (Bryan?) was incredibly helpful, friendly, efficient, and got me a set up with a simple balloon on a stick... the same request had another business wanting $350. Definitely coming back... love it when I find someone who actually cares about their job. read more

I Bought balloons at a different Party City and was told I can get them inflated at any Party City since I didn't need them at the time of purchase. I went to this location to order the balloons to be inflated for that weekend and showed my receipt. The employee helping me out sees that the balloons were purchased at a different location and proceeds to tell me that next time, I should buy it at their store because they're not a franchise, they're independently owned, and therefore not making any money. He said he would do it for me this time but next time to purchase the balloons from them. That's ridiculous since they're priced more than other Party City stores and also they do not match their online prices. No wonder this place doesn't have the best reviews. read more

This Party City always comes through when I need something. I don't stop in often but lately I've been going in for balloon bouquets in an attempt to make birthday celebrations a bit more elaborate. I've been on the jumbo numbers kick and while these aren't inexpensive I find they are really celebratory and this just seems like the year to really try and make pandemic birthdays special in their own way, you know... If you're in the business of dropping a bunch of money on balloons to linger around the house for at least a month and some latex versions to fall by their wayside in about 12 hours this is a solid selection. Pick and pay at the counter and they are filled with helium within a few minutes. Great customer service! read more

I'm throwing a Stranger Things themed Halloween party and was happy as hell when I found out that Party City has a alphabet wall tapestry. On their website, it says that this specific location has them in store (4 available) so I decided to pay a visit to see how it looks. I asked two associates and they said they have never received this item and won't be receiving them at all. One of the guys said that it happens all the tine where the website lists things they simply never received from corporate. Super inconvenient as I went out of my way to see it. Next time I will call but the website should be accurate with inventory levels. Now, I will be making my own. read more

Just a heads up! Picked up a shirt in store for Halloween but they do not honor their online price. The shirt was $18 but in store it was $25. Store opens at 10am... My sister propositions the following: I want to do a photo op with my little 2 and a half year old son so can you pick up some balloons at Party City? Directions from my sis: -Get 4x mylar balloons representing the numbers 2016... What I found at the store: If you buy individually numbered mylar balloons each of them costs $11.99. $11.99 x 4 = $47.96 (Not bang for your buck) But the helpful Party City rep informed me that they sell a $29.99 preset pack of the new year #s in the following color selections: blue, purple, silver, & gold. So I got the preset gold pack representing 2016. Next directions: -Get the biggest red mylar balloon they have in the store. Party city doesn't have solid colored mylar balloons that are bigger than the usual size you are used to seeing. So instead the very helpful rep brought over a 4 pack of 24 inch sized latex balloons selling for $5.99. Plus, $2.99 per balloon to inflate in helium. In the end, the total was $52.25 and I got my task accomplished and surprisingly able to all fit into my tiny white Prius and home for the photo op taking place at sundown. We ordered balloons for a birthday. Several days in advance. On the day of the birthday, we instructed my brother to pick them up. The staff refused. Claiming we had picked them up. 10 min of arguing, another staff member said no they weren't picked up but prepared for the wrong day and deflated. I had texted my brother a copy of the receipt. More arguing and they handed him one Mylar balloon and two latex ones. I had ordered a bunch of balloons totally $30. After the party I contacted the manager and said this is not what I ordered and I did not pay $30 for three balloons. Manager refused to help. Claiming he has to "investigate" the matter. This place is huge!! So I come here every once in a while if I need to grab props or party favors for shoots. It's just your typical party city but it does seem a bit bigger. The customer isn't out of this world but the employees get the job done and keep it moving. This location has a private lot shared with Marie Calendars and I believe a CVS. There is plenty of space to park and every time I have come in, it has been very quick to check out. It's just your typical go to party store. Nothing fancy. Interesting how the one in panaroma city has gotten better reviews than this one! I've never been to another location, but the reason for the 4 stars is simply because I was able to find masks for a party for super cheap AND i was highly entertained in the napkin section, where I got side tracked.... I even think I purchased a halloween costume from here years ago...prices are WAY better than actual costume shops! read more

if you are shopping at party city, you know a good time is ahead. i'd decided to come to this store after meeting with my little one's teacher. the children were going to practice table manners with a lovely thanksgiving feast provided by the parents. as always, i like to ask the teacher what is needed for the class in addition to a homemade italian pasta salad and pumpkin pie i was bringing. her simple request was sturdy plates and fancy utensils for twenty-five munchkins. so, off i go to party city. it's a decent size, i'd been to bigger ones before. there are aisles full of stuff you need for an awesome event. they have a variety of colors of plates, utensils, napkins, and other items to accommodate to your theme. i had parked my car right in front, came in and walked out the door, perhaps it was early thursday evening. read more

Any theme party - Mardi Gras, Easter, etc they got you covered. It's not high end. It's plastic, but reasonably priced. I had ordered online for the Burbank location and they ran out of my letters so they had the Sherman oaks location hold the letter for me for later pick up. Do to this issue, it caused a huge delay in my day, so to save time I wanted to call Party City in Sherman oaks to ask them to please have it aired up and ready for my pick up. It was one letter. It took me about 30ish minutes with traffic from the Burbank store to the Sherman Oaks location. I was calling throughout that whole drive letting that phone ring. They were about to close so I figured they were busy with people (like me) squeezing in last minute things. Well, I got there and they were not busy, and I heard two phone calls that they just let ring. I looked at the lady who seemed to be in charge and very blatant said, I wish you guys would answer your phones, I called a bunch of times on my way here. And she goes yeahhh... and simply shrugged her shoulders. I mimicked her--yeahhh, kind of questioning her yeah... I was so upset. She didn't care about service at all. The phone happened to ring again right then. After about 4 rings, another associate actually answered it bc he heard our issue. ... It isn't just me--they were straight ignoring phone calls and for no reason other than they didn't want to provide any type of customer service. read more

I walked into the store and asked one employee if they had any left and because they were not on display he just told me that they didn't have any without even checking in the back. Go here on a monthly basis to get hubby his gum. I never used to check dates on the bags I purchased and now I do. The only reason we checked date was because gum was very hard. We went to purchase the next bag and there were only three in stock, one was over three years old. You read it correctly, three years! We got another one and took both to the counter and made them aware of it. Second visit the next month and only two bags in stock and yet again one of the bags was past sell by date. Hubby again brought it to the guys attention at the counter. Who is responsible for checking dates and stocking? I would be very cautious when purchasing any candy or food items from here.
