    First Take Photo Booths

I've seen more than my fair share of photo booths in the Atlanta area. I didn't know First Take…read moreexisted until my friends used them for their wedding. While I can't say there was really anything that set First Take apart from the numerous other photo booths I've tried around town, I thought it was solid -- just like many of the others. This photo booth was open (as opposed to a closed photo booth with a curtain) and set up indoors inside a church. The setup was simple with a sparkly silver backdrop and a table full of the usual array of silly props such as oversized sunglasses, Hawaiian leis, viking helmets, crowns, a poop emoji plush, and funny signs (some of which were theme-appropriate). Some photo booths give you photo strip printouts, others don't. First Take printed out strips for our group, as many as we needed. Each photo booth session consisted of four photos and each strip had all four photos. The event name and date was printed on the bottom of each strip in a nice font. I think the photo booth could fit up to eight people in one photo comfortably. We might have been able to squeeze 10 people in a single photo if everyone stood in the correct place. Some people would have to squat. There were two attendants and they were helpful and friendly enough. I talked to one of them and he was booked from morning to night, from school functions in the morning to weddings in the afternoon and evening. Along with the printouts, a couple things I liked about First Take that not all other photo booths have are: (1) The photo booth actually tells you where to look. If people don't know where to look, they often end up looking at a screen and not at the actual camera itself. This can cause photos to turn out poorly since the people in the photos are looking at the wrong place (up, down; anywhere but straight). (2) You can enter your phone number on the photo booth's touchscreen and have your photos sent to you via text (MMS). I'm not sure if First Take offers any other send options like email (which I prefer because you can get higher resolution photos that way). All in all, I think First Take provides a fine photo booth.

Watch out for this lady! She is cruel. I booked with this lady months before my sisters wedding (my…read moregift to her) and you won't believe she cancelled the day of the wedding because she had too much work to do! She did refund my money, but it wasn't easy finding another company the day of the event!!!! Do not use Photo Bash! Because she will try to bash YOU! Her work was lazy and after time, events like our will catch up to her. Don't waste your time. There are so many photo booth options cheaper and better than this one!

We hired Photo Bash for our wedding. They were relatively inexpensive (we hired them for $300 for…read morethree hours). If I could do it over again, I'd gladly pay a little more money for a better photo booth. Don't hire this company. The TL;DR of this review is: bad customer service, slow photo booth with apathetic, non-communicative operator, and never sent me the CD they promised (but did send a digital file). First, once you've signed a contract with them, they are VERY hard to get a hold of. I had a few questions and a couple of weeks would go by with no email reply. Every time this happened, I called them and the lady gave me the same response: "Oh, we're training someone new. They must have forgotten." I believed it the first time, but I think this is their stock excuse for bad customer service. Second, I wasn't happy with the photo booth at the wedding. The lady arrived, set up the booth, but never told anyone when it was ready. So she was just sitting there until I realized no one was going there and announced it was open. I probably lost 15 minutes here. It takes a long time for her to set up and take down, but I can't complain because that's stipulated in the contract. It was worse than any photo booth I had experienced. The props were stuffed in this bag and you had to dig through it to find any. A good (or even average) photo booth will have them laid out so people can just grab them. The lady operating it was slow, apathetic, and took forever to do anything. Normally photo booths don't have someone working there, operating it. Between each click of the camera, there's like a 5-10 second lag, which makes the photos look posed instead of spontaneous. The line to use it was very slow-moving. I took four photos during the 3 hour time period and in total that took about 20 minutes. Photo booths should be quick, done in a few seconds to capture the spontaneity. After the wedding, they said they would send us all the photos within 48 hours. I emailed to check up (of course, no answer), then I called (I'm sorry, we were training someone and they forgot to reply to your email). She said that it wasn't in the contract to send us a digital file (this is wrong. My contract specifically said they WOULD send us that). She said our contract said they'd send a CD. I said OK. Waited a week or two, no CD. I called her - she said she'd resend it. It's been two months since the wedding and I know I'm never going to get the CD. She did, however, on my third complaint send me a digital file with all the photos, so I don't really care about the stupid CD. I was sad to see that for 3 hours of service (and dozens of friends interested in doing the photo booth), there were only about 40 photos. Since my friends were psyched for the booth, I am chalking this up to the slow photo booth itself and the lady operating it.
