Slime Kitchen is such a fun and adorable spot for kids--definitely a highlight of our spring break…read moretrip! The whole experience was hands-on and creative, and my kids had an absolute blast mixing and customizing their slime. We've actually been to another slime place in LA before, and while it was bigger, the slime quality there just didn't compare--it kept breaking apart and tearing. The slime at Slime Kitchen, though, was so much better. Super stretchy, smooth, and held together really well. You can tell they use high-quality materials. We ended up making slime as a family, which made it even more memorable. It is a little on the pricier side--if we'd known ahead of time, we probably would've just let the kids do it--but honestly, it still turned into a really fun family experience. If you're visiting San Diego or just looking for something different to do with your kids, this is definitely worth checking out!

It's one of the only places where they each get the attention, fun, and support they need--and I get a little breather too. The staff that we have met ( Tammy, Mary, Julie , Steven and Mike ) and the owner Rachel are INCREDIBLE -so kind, patient, helpful, understanding and just genuinely loving. They've become like family to us, and this place truly feels like our second home. And the moms? We've built such a little community here. We share tips, tricks, and support--everything from where the best fenced-in parks are to how to get free caregiver passes for places like the zoo or SeaWorld. It's a safe space not just for the kids, but for us too. If you're thinking about checking it out--do it. You won't regret it. This place is special.

Over at North City, parking is an issue. This gym definitely had more people and most of the bouldering happens on the first floor in a designated area. At 9:30am, part of the bouldering section was closed off for cleaning and a section of it was down as a new route needed to be set. It felt a bit cramped to boulder here and by 10:30am, a bunch of people showed up and that's when it really felt like packed sardines in here. Since I already had a good hour in here, I started to wrap up bouldering and headed out. Women's locker room on the first floor, clean and well stocked. Lockers available for use. Staff are really nice here and checked in on my experience when I left. Staff told me this location tends to be the busier one as it is central to everything, so I appreciated that tip. Overall, still a great climbing gym, I'd definitely come back!

The littles enjoy everything about it here. Not to busy but they do have peak times. Normal, but we avoid them. Only cringe is parking can be a pain!! We never park in the back bc of the lot and tiny space to move. Very happy thus far and looking forward to building community with others who also love to climb!
