The elephant odyssey actually includes more than just elephants! There are also condors, camels, capybaras, frogs, and a Baird's Tapir! This felt like a calmer side of the park...more quiet.

A nice long walking exhibit that's best experienced either first or last during your day at the zoo. There's only one negative about Elephant Odyssey and that's the narrow path throughout the exhibit. On busy days it's completely congested with tourists and strollers. Expect your foot to be rolled over at least twice.. Most interesting - At the top of the exhibit is the fossil portal. This is an interpretive room with a Tar Pit pool with staff displaying hands-on fossil experiences. For locals, if you look at the placards on the wall you can read about several local fossil museums within an hour's drive of the zoo. Lots of potential day trips for you and your family. Conveniently located next to the top skyfari station.

Well Here at Elephant Odyssey It is pretty darn Cool !! First of all as you walk in There are bones of elephants and others kept on preserve so you can take a look then when you walk in there are Elephants Sculptures where kids love to play on and take pictures !! Almost everyone tends to stop and take photos here at Elephant Odyssey !! Plus the Lions are kept here also !! Really cool to see but most of the time the male lion is sleeping and female lion is awake for you to see !! Also there is the leopard here also !! I always enjoy coming to elephant odyssey it is fun for everyone !! There are benches for you to sot and enjoy watching the elephants walk around in there habitats !! Here at Elephant Odyssey it is located inside the San Diego Zoo and it is one exhibit you must stop by and see for yourself !! Very cool !! My family, friends and I always make sure that we hit up their new elephant odyssey on each trip out to the San Diego Zoo. They did such a great job on this new addition to their park. It's huge! Definitely the largest state of the art elephant treatment facility and exhibit I have ever seen. And it's great how they incorporated other species and unusual animals into it as well, so you not only get to see elephants, but other mammals, amphibians, birds, and insects to name a few. You'll have to come check it out for yourself. It'll be worth it!

My son LOVES the elephants! He also likes pacing alongside the jaguar when she's in her den. The ONLY thing that is negative about this big, beautiful, newer part of the zoo, is the fact that the "tar pit" only seems to be functioning during the summer when tourists are about. As members who come year round, we think it looks kinda janky when it's not working and is just stagnant. They also used to have a keeper who answered questions at the fossil desk but I haven't seen one this year. I feel like once other parts of the zoo get makeovers, upkeep on the last upgrade goes by the wayside.

Elephants. They had a selection of sizes, so extra cute. I mean, you're at the zoo. How can you not love this? They had some activities for the kiddies, too, if that's your thing.

Be prepared to spend 4-5 hours here and that's just your first round. It was suggested that we start with the double decker bus tour, which gives you a preview of the exhibits. This also allows you to take pictures of animals that may not be out by the time you get to them. From there just make your way and don't skip anything including the gondola ride.

It's absolutely beautiful and feels much more comfortable for the animals. We arrived after 11 AM on a Friday, and were able to find the perfect parking spot near the front of the zoo by wrapping around to the back entrance. We took the bus tour which was enjoyable, but we didn't see very many animals, probably because it was the middle of the afternoon. We were able to get some really good photos. Happily you can bring your own food and water - it is expensive, I think over $20 for a hamburger? They do a lovely job of taking pictures throughout your day which you can then look at online at no charge and share with others. Great way to capture your memories and spread word-of-mouth advertising. The one major challenge is the steep hills. I was left wishing for a golf cart to get around lol. A suggestion for the zoo would be to add to the app, if it all possible ,something to let you know when the animals who can hide from people, like the polar bears, are out and about, so our expectations can be met. (Sadly, we tried twice to see them and the panda bears with no success.) They've turned this former zoo avoider into one who looks forward to another trip.

We booked the larger party option for 16-35 kids and when the date was approaching and we thought we may end up with a few more than expected, they were flexible and communicative about our options. Come game time, it turned out we didn't exceed the limit so the team remained flexible and delivered the original plan with ease. Set up and break down was insanely fast. They kept the birthday girl completely engaged and loving every minute of the program. They made her feel like the star of the show while keeping her guests engaged as well. When some kids got a little squirrely, they were gracious and patient and kept the program rolling. We throughly enjoyed the fun, different element that Zovargo brought to our party. We highly recommend!

There were many different varieties of birds, and each one added to the experience. My partner and kids had a wonderful time, and we especially loved the beautiful koi pond as well. It was a peaceful, fun, and unique outing for the whole family. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys birds and wants a more interactive experience with them. One thing to keep in mind is that visitors are not allowed to hold or pet the birds. However, you can feed them, and if they choose to land on your arm, that's perfectly okay. One of the birds even hopped onto my son's arm, which was a highlight of the visit! Overall, a fantastic experience that we would happily do again.

Located in Del Mar near the festival, if your eyes are peeled open, it can be quite easy to miss. There's a few parking spots available. I came at 10am to see if I can register and walk in right away. They told me to come back at 11am. So I went across the street for a drink and then returned. It was a neat experience. You walk in and use hand sanitizers and get the instructions. If you're not a member you can handle the birds directly. You get a bowl of food and later can circle back to feed the fish. Some birds are outside their cages which is fun and you get some nice photos with them. The ones who ate from my bowl seemed to only really want the apples. The bowls had a mixtures of fruits and vegetables. The ones in the cages they tell you not to take out. Why? Don't know. Flight risk? For 15 bucks a person, it was a nice way to spend a hour and hear why some birds are the way they are (you'll have to ask the workers there why and they'll gladly share stories otherwise it's mostly a independent stroll through the sanctuary). Memberships are available if interested.
