You don't like to beat down a business sometimes but this place needs a management overhaul. Friend has a horse racing today so we drove down from NY. By the time we walked In the 5th race was going off. We figured let's get a bite and by the time we have our food racing cancelled for the rest of the day. This happens way too much here. Last week all 3 days and today no reason really provided. It was a little windy but nothing crazy that racing needed to be cancelled. Seems 10 years after the casino comes in the track is really an afterthought. The track condition is terrible, the seating is old and worn, hell they have some much wasted space inside and 1 bar and a small snack stand. It's like a slow painful death it seems. The purses are terrible. They need to overhaul the management and breathe some new life for this place or it won't last 5 more years. read more

From the perspective of a spouse of a Parx employee attending their annual picnic/barbecue, Parx Racing is a very nice place for the event. It attracts hundreds of workers and their families, with plenty of food and drink to go around. Of course, the strongest attraction are the horses raced around the mile+ track during the festivities. We were able to see (and bet on, if so inclined) eight races, some of which had the starter gate right in front of us, so we had a good look at the majestic steeds. I don't know enough about racing to gamble, so we just sat back and enjoyed the beautiful sleek powerful horses walk, cantor and gallop before us. The food was fairly much traditional, with burgers, dogs, bbq chicken and Italian sweet sausage casserole, with corn on the cob and mixed salad as sides. Very easy to overeat, and then go after the vanilla soft serve cones for dessert. I was satisfied with one of those, but my seductive companion brought me three more before we were ready to leave. How to say. "No!"? This event was great for morale, with spouses and kids around to be comfortable with mom and dad's work place. These guys make a lot of money. Glad to see they share at least a little of it with the people who make it possible. See you all next year. read more

This was our first visit. The track is beautiful but there isn't a lot of seating if you actually want to watch the race. The choices are limited seating inside the building near the windows, but those seats were taken, benches outside in the sun on super hot cement, or a picnic grove where you can't really see. The grandstand was closed. Not sure if it's a Covid thing or not but it wasn't what we expected when we drove all the way up here. We sat on the hot benches but you can't really see down low like that, we prefer being up high. We left after one race. It has so much potential but we were very disappointed. read more

Parx has some up's and down's. The inside has plenty of room but is older and with some updating would be really nice. The upper sitting area is very old. The outside area is similar. It is huge and allows a lot of room but is older. The course itself offers dirt and turf. The dirt course is fine but the turf course is not the best and they generally off the turf longer than other local facilities following a storm. Could use and updated video board. read more

I know things are different but when outside and socially distancing, I could have done without the mask. It really wasn't crowded. The other problem was the infestation of the spotted lantern beetles. It was horrible to sit outside and enjoy the races and the beautiful day. read more

The Philadelphia Park has been around for years to wager your bets on the horses. The Pennsylvania Derby is also held here. A little over two years ago, Pennsylvania decided to legalize gambling with a Casino and it all started here. Slots, sluts and more slots are available to take your chance on a good hit! They also have Blackjack and Roulette. Smoking and non smoking areas and no coins or cash pay outs involved. They call it paper less money or vouchers. The thrills are there to tempt you, with the cocktail servers in 6 inch Stilettos and a pouffe micro mini and bells and whistles and bright lights to fuzz your mind even more with those paper vouchers in hand so you aimlessly slide them into another machine while saying yes miss, I will have another Chardonnay. Whew! Of course, you could eat first in one of their Restaurants, the Park Grille Steak & Chophouse is dining at it's finest and will help you to win more money, once you clean your plate. I live 10 minutes, at the most from the Philadelphia Park & Casino and I have been twice and left the contents of my wallet both times, they insisted. It is nice to know it is there, when I need to clean out my purse. read more

Cover band fight night Woo mom singing in bathroom Expected much worse On my way up to Bensalem to the only place we knew was showing the embarrassment that was the De La Hoya fight, I had visions of the only other turf club I've ever stepped foot in. I could see what I imagine a Russian nuclear command center circa 1955 would look like. Rows and rows of TV monitors manned by hunchbacked, pasty white, chain smoking, walking dead. I imagined we'd be two of six people interested in the fight. I imagined being able to sit and carry on a conversation! None of this materialized into reality Instead what I found was a monstrous, well appointed and attractive building. The theme park like parking lot was half full, and the crowd was a bountiful mix of young and old...I'd actually say more young than old and most surprising was it wasn't over run by men either. Way to show up ladies! A ton of video casino games and slots stretch in all directions. Again, lots of attention to make this look like your big time casino. Now for the experience...uhhhh, wow. It felt like spring break for adults. The Circle Bar was packed, many horrible shots were being poured (the smell of "kicking chicken", that's Wild Turkey to the less informed, assaulted our nostrils!) there are no tables or stools to sit at/on and the music was so bad (The dance remix of Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer" was heard!) but got worse with what must have been the best cover band in all of central Jersey. I thought they were going to play "Stairway to Free-bird " at one point! ...BUT PEOPLE WERE DIGGING IT, so the vibe was upbeat at least. It was just way too loud for continued conversation, but with so much to laugh about it was ok and in the end a good time was had...although we did book it out of there pretty damn quick! My ear drums and eye balls needed a break! While this would never ever be a regular hangout, I won't shy away from going back for another fight or a day at the track... read more

This place sucks. You walk in and if you look under the age of 30 they card you to give u a bracelet. No problem, but the lady was so harsh and unwelcoming. No hospitality here. There are no real table games only animated ones and the bar was swamped by old men. The club, or wanna be dance floor in the middle of te casino is so small. The DJ did his thang though. It's free but they have to cut people off like it's the Bank in the Bellogio in Las Vegas..... Not worth the effort. All in all, I I want to go to a casino, I'll go to Atlantic City. read more

Dang! I'm not sure if knowing where the casinos are located is a good thing or not. I know there one in Dover, DE, Atlantic City, NJ, and Charlestown, WVA. And now, Philly!!! Oh boy! Of course, nothing beats Las Vegas! All together...one, two, three..."what happens in Vegas, stays..." Anyways, from the outside, this place is huge. However, the casino is only on the first 2 floors. Smoking is allowed on the first floor with a small area sectioned off as non-smoking. The second floor is mostly non-smoking. The games are all the same if you're a regular casino player. If you have all the good luck then you're bound to spend hours here. If you don't, then you'll be outta there within minutes minus 500 dollars. read more

Parx Racing ... good time! Bartenders are friendly and on the ball. Casino side is your normal casino ... nice but not nearly as friendly and personable as the racing side. Outside has a great picnic area with an outside bar. The bar could use upgrading, but the service and bartender are so nice, that it is easy to forget about. Bartenders are attentive and fast moving! read more

Been here a couple of times. Nice getaway from NYC. Closer than Atlantic City. It's clean, nice and enjoyable. Fun day or overnight trip. Has table games and slots. Restaurants are good. It's now called PARX. read more

I am reviewing the track only, and it is now called "conveniently enough" Parx Racing. It is a fairly old track, used to be Keystone, then Philadelphia Park, then Parx (due to the casino). For the most part, it is like any other track. Nothing special or glitzy at all. A lot of problems unfortunately, starting with the employees. They give you a hard time when you have a problem, ie: voucher being lost in the machine. A lot of cursing going on, I understand the atmosphere, but the employees should tell them to keep it down. Hard to get your bets in, unless (1) you have phone bet, and use it or (2) get to betting machine, or teller early enough. People stand there at the machine, making either twenty thousand bets, or they keep turning around to look at the t.v. to see if the odds change from one second to the next! Really? On the big racing day, Pa Derby, it is a total madhouse. Better to stay home and watch it on tv. A few friends and I were there for this year's Derby (as I have been for several years). The place was totally packed, and when the big race came, the fave (Songbird) came out to the paddock, and the crowd was so bad, you couldn't; get through. A big security issue and safety issue. What if paramedics needed to get through to someone, forget it your as good as dead! And they overcharge you on those days, raising the price of food and beer up. What fun. read more
