Pair the tasting with all the stories behind the winery, and it's easily one of the more interesting experiences in Paso. The staff is also incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The patio is a beautiful spot to taste, and if you're there later in the day, the sunset views are hard to beat. Definitely do the free cave tour while you're there. It's one of the coolest winery tours I've been on. The caves are a massive labyrinth carved into the hillside and naturally stay around 55 degrees year round, which is where they age a lot of their wine before bottling. Even if you've been to a lot of wineries, this is something a little different. At the time I'm writing this, tastings are still complimentary, which is almost unheard of these days. If you go, do them a favor and leave with a bottle or two. That's how places like this are able to keep offering experiences like this, and honestly, you'll probably want to take some wine home anyway.

Parking is sufficient for the number of suites and an EV charger is located in 2 stalls. The staff is accommodating. Allegretto vineyard and winery is just down the way with a lovely upscale restaurant if you don't want to go downtown which is 11 minutes away with a plethora of choices for dining and shopping. Can't wait to return to this gem. I did have a problem with booking through a third party service, so I would suggest booking directly to ensure your room is available.

When we checked in and got to our room, the property felt completely empty. We were the only guests we could see, which made the whole place feel eerie and uncomfortable. We walked around the entire property and saw no one. There were only three cars in the parking lot, including ours and the front desk employee's car, yet we were told they were "fully booked" when we asked about moving to a larger room. The room itself was not great. The bed is extremely hard and squeaks with every movement. On top of that, the AC does not work. We told the front desk before leaving for dinner about the AC and were told someone would come fix it. When we returned, the room was even hotter than before & it felt like walking into a sauna. The windows don't open, so the only way to get air in is by opening the doors, which obviously lets bugs in. The "free wine tasting" was also frustrating. At check-in, we were told that we would get complimentary tastings at the tasting room. When we went to the tasting room, we were told they were "too busy" for tastings and that we would need to buy glasses of wine instead. We didn't want to make a scene, so we ended up purchasing a bottle and a glass, which came out to $85 & we never received the tastings we were told were included with our stay. Overall, this has been a terrible experience. Between the uncomfortable room, broken AC, lack of guests/staff on the property, and being denied the complimentary tasting we were promised, I would not recommend staying here. Do not let the 4.6 rating fool you.

Also, the caterer ran out of food before the tenth table and I think there were at least twelve. On the positive side, the staff was friendly to the guests.

We met Bug, the calm and irresistibly cute mini owl; Jack, the Eurasian Eagle Owl, surprisingly heavy and full of personality (though not thrilled about being passed back to his handler); Goose, the chatty falcon who was charming but preferred not to be touched; and Ranger, the hawk, who stole the show. We loved sending Ranger out and calling him back with a treat--though he did swoop down and land on my head once (thankfully, I had a hat on!). After all the bird encounters, we wrapped up with a wine tasting at Via Vega Winery. It was the perfect way to end a unique, unforgettable experience.

Today, Thursday , they have wines by the glass for $5! What an incredible deal. Since I drink only white wines, I was able to get a generous sample of 3 different wines for less than a tasting! Wines are good but not as good as I remembered before they sold the winery. We had the Diavola pizza and the Porchetta sandwich. The pizza was delicious. The sandwich was pretty good but it was a little dry. We also ended our lunch with a lovely tiramisu. The tiramisu was moist with the right amount of alcohol and cream. Just delicious. Service was great. The staff are very friendly. My son has a dairy allergy and can't have the cheese on regular pizzas. The chef was very accommodating and allowed us to bring in our specially wrapped vegan cheese to use on his pizza. Thank you for this accommodation! Went to their new location which was really convenient since we were going to other wineries near there. It's still a big location. Plenty of seating and they still offer food which we were happy about. Our server was super sweet and knowledgeable which I always appreciate when it comes to wine. We started a tasting and then just tried whatever she gave us which we weren't complaining. Haha. All the wine she was giving us was really good. I was really impressed by their food. I wanted more of everything. We got their bruschetta al Fresco, hummus, monte Bianca pizza, and one other pizza. I fell in love with their bruschetta. We selected the premium tasting flight, which showcased more reds than whites, and the reds were exceptional across the board -- beautifully crafted, each one a pleasure from first swirl to final sip.
