First impressions of Eberle were quite the opposite of where we'd just come from (Daou). It was chaotic, messy, and we ended up loving every minute of it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Huge thanks to that goes to our host, Tamara. She was an absolute delight! Our glasses were never empty and she was just such a funny, quirky host. About halfway through our flight, she took us downstairs for the cave tour. Wow, what a stunner! Whether you're a wine nerd or just looking for a laid-back place to taste, Eberle is absolutely worth a stop. The history alone is enough to get you through the door, but the wine is what keeps you there. Pair the tasting with all the stories behind the winery, and it's easily one of the more interesting experiences in Paso. The staff is also incredibly friendly and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. It's one of the coolest winery tours I've been on. Free cave tours, free tastings of really well-balanced and smooth wines! The Barbera was my favorite. It was smooth and mildly fruity, but not heavy. I liked all five wines on the tasting menu, including the rosé, which is new for me because I don't usually love rosés. I ended up getting another glass of the Barbera after we finished the tasting. What a beautiful vineyard this turned out to be. It's no wonder it's so popular on Yelp. We got several suggestions to visit Eberle Winery while in the area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The tasting room was packed with guests all around the bar and possibly a few people outside too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It had been raining most of the day so we didn't look for or ask about any outside seating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They offer a wine cave tour but we probably got there too late to sign up for a tour.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We didn't want to push our luck since we felt like we were just lucky enough to squeak in as the last tasting of the day. The couple tasting next to us were wine club members from the area so we chatted with them for a bit. They were very funny and informative too. We heard about some of the sushi spots they frequent in the area and along the coast too. They told us Eberle offered free wine tastings plus discounts for veterans too so it definitely secured the sale for us! We enjoyed our tasting and bought some wine to take home. The wine room staff were all very nice and didn't rush us even though we were the last tasting of the day. They were already sold out of their charcuterie plates so we did get some marcona almonds to snack on to help tide us over until we could get dinner afterward. We enjoyed our time at Eberle and look forward to a future visit when we return to the Paso Robles area. Let me preface this with this - I rarely write reviews, and never have had to write a bad one sadly. I believe sometimes companies have off days, and employees may have a bad day, which can affect one's experience, thus I dont let one bad experience ruin a company's review. But when it comes to my CHILD, you best believe i will never forgive and forget or let our experience be forgotten. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We visited this winery expecting a relaxing, family-friendly experience and instead left with our daughter crying after being scratched in the face near her eye by the owner's off-leash dog.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]What makes this especially frustrating is that the winery's own rules state dogs must be leashed, yet the owners' dogs were roaming the property freely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Our daughter was calmly petting one of the dogs with me standing directly beside her when the dog suddenly growled and scratched her across the face.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was completely unprovoked and witnessed by the owner himself, who said absolutely nothing afterward. No apology, no concern, no accountability. An employee later approached us and said, "Sorry, he's old and maybe didn't like that she was the same height as him, which made him react".....which felt less like accountability and more like an absurd attempt to excuse why a reactive dog was allowed to roam off leash around guests and children. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We also observed the dogs behaving territorially toward other leashed dogs on the property, making it even more inappropriate that they were allowed off leash in a public setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My father-in-law is a VERY well known, well respected, and prominent winemaker in Virginia and across the United States, if you know anything about wine, you know him. So lets say, we understand winery culture and hospitality, fairly well. Had something like this happened on his property, it would have been handled immediately and professionally with genuine concern for the injured guest.....especially a child. Watching the owner casually continue on in his conversation with whomever, and pet the dog like nothing happened while our daughter screamed and cried was honestly unbelievable. In my opinion, not worth the visit for the subpar wine, if you want to take your children/dog somewhere. The poodles were friendly to me, and other adults, until we saw their behavior to other dogs & then my child....The complete lack of concern from ownership after a child was injured was shocking. Frankly, they are fortunate we chose not to escalate the situation further. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Parents should absolutely be cautious visiting here with children or pets. An off-leash dog with territorial behavior has no place interacting freely with guests.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Absolutely shocked and the owner should be ashamed of his actions & response (or lack there of) to the situation. read more

Leaving a review for Eberle as it was my first winery experience in Paso Robles. Huge shoutout to Jen our wine pourer of the afternoon. She made my group of four feel so welcomed and educated that even now after almost a week later of going there, it still leaves a lasting impact of how much we enjoyed the experience. The wine was overall good. Their rośe is award winning but my personal favorite from their tasting is their Cabernet Sauvignon. We loved it so much we even took two bottles home. It was a bummer as they canceled their "cave" tour three times while we were there which we were really looking forward to - Communication on how this tour works was a bit .. awkward and the front desk didn't really give us a solid answer and then when we brought it up with Jen during our last pour, she said she would try to work something out and last minute, they had Steph I believe was her name- give a tour which we were so happy about but it threw off our original scheduled plans. The cave tour is definitely fascinating as there are so many fun facts that I'll save for the experience. But will say these man made caves were great to experience and walk through even for a short while. Not sure if it would be good for people who are claustrophobic as it is enclosed down there but still a great tour to consider as it's free. Love this spot! It is winery heaven and we stumbled on it by accident. I found this because I saw it had free wine tastings which I was in disbelief about but it was true! Free wine tastings and no pressure to purchase. Though purchase we did because it was lovely, including a surprisingly good rose (we are not big rose people). The space is nice with a great big covered patio overlooking the grape vines. It is not as spectacular a view as some wineries but solid nonetheless. The staff is so nice and friendly and just informative enough to give you a good sense of the wines without giving too much daunting information. We also got lucky to get a cave tour when they had space and we had mentioned interest in it but lack of availability. Me and the hubby booked a cave tour and came on Christmas Eve and boy was it pouring down rain!! Honestly, my experience at Eberle blew me away. I don't do a ton of wine tastings, but my friend and I both agreed this was one of the best tasting experiences we've ever had. I would highly recommend checking out this winery if you're in the Paso Robles area! Everything was perfect about our visit - from the informative cave tour to the amazing views on their deck overlooking the vineyards to our super nice and friendly sommelier. Plus the whole experience was free! It really doesn't get any better than this. I booked a complimentary tasting on their website a couple days before coming and there was plenty of availability. I changed the day of my reservation right before the trip and didn't have any issues with that either. I love how easy it was to book and modify the tasting. On the day of, we arrived at our booked time and they immediately got us seated and started with the first wine. The complimentary tasting includes 5 wines - currently it's one white and four reds. After our first pour, they brought everyone down to the fermentation area as well as the caves and introduced us to the history of the winery and talked a little bit about their wine making process. This was a quick tour, maybe 15-20 minutes, and we spent the rest of our tasting back up on the deck slowly sipping our wines and taking in the view. I personally prefer white wines over red, so the first wine, the 2023 estate viognier, was my favorite, but we bought a bottle of both the 2022 zinfandel and their sangria to take home. My favorite part of the whole experience was the view. Their patio is raised and overlooks the vineyards, and our table was right next to the railing, so this was one of the best views I've ever had during a wine tasting. For hot days, the patio has overhead cooling mist fans and regular fans. Also, they have an indoor area where you can do tastings. I saw people walking in and doing tastings in the inside area. Personally I would recommend the complimentary patio tasting for the views though. read more

Visited Eberle while in town for my birthday weekend! I liked their decor and thought it's fun how they have a boar as their mascot. They had some great wines, and the Boar Red blend was one of my favorites. We originally came to do the cave tour, but the times listed on their website did not match up with the times once we arrived, so I recommend double checking by calling if you want to do one of their regular tour times! Eberle is one of the only places in Paso that actually does a free tasting, which is a great plus. Despite having no space in my life for another wine club membership, I left Eberle today with yet another due to the fantastic tasting experience we had with Tiffany. The grounds are lovely with an excellent vineyard view. We did the VIP tasting with cave tour where we tried some wonderful wines with excellent cheese pairings in a cool (meaning both temperature and ambiance) atmosphere. Loved their Zinfandel and Cabernet and had an overall excellent experience. The owner's dogs, Sangiovese and Barbera, are friendly and fun to spend time with while eating some delicious barbecue (duck sausage, where have you been all my life?!?) After our Hearst Castle trip we went wine tasting. I made a 3:30 appointment at Eberle winery and they didn't disappoint. So happened that My daughter and JD went there before as well. Wine tasting with a tour to the manmade tunnel is free but an appointment has to be made in advance. This tunnel is used to store their wine barrel to aged. It's kept at 60 degrees without the use of AC.( 30 ft below if i remember it right) We were able to meet the owner and his 2 poodles too. Visited end of March 2025. Choose this winery because of proximity to the Senserio Paso Robles light show. It is literally next door from the winery. We made reservations in advance. Made it for 330pm to 5pm. This was for the cave tour and tasting. Parking was plenty. Grounds were beautiful. We got seated right away. It was a little windy so their screens were lowered but we could still see the vineyard. Tasting started a little early. We were rounded for the cave tour. It was fascinating and not too long. My mom is in her late 70s and mobility is limited. She was able to do the tour without problems. We enjoyed both the tour and the tasting. Our tasting host was super nice and answered our questions. Made for a relaxing visit. We ordered the cheese/charcouterie box and it was fabulous. Highly recommend the tour, the visit and tasting. This is a winery set up in an idyllic site of Paso Robles: it is only a 9-10 minutes drive from downtown Paso Robles and set up on a hill. The parking is easy and plentiful. Once inside, you will be guided to the outside patio where you will be served 5 different wines. NOTE: it's one of the very few wineries in Paso Robles where they do not charge for tasting which was greatly appreciated! The wines were decent, not exceptional as I was hoping. I personally didn't like any of the wines on the wine tasting menu as they all had very high tannins which I thought made the wines I tasted too be more bitter than I would prefer. The wine tasting host that I was greeted by at the door when I first walked in came off very "curt" . I didn't take it personally, But I did find it to be kinda not a warm welcoming. Maybe she was a little stressed out at the moment for reasons I wouldn't know as I'd literally just walked in for the first time. Hadn't been to this location since around 2017 and wanted to try out the cave tour. we were greeted by one of the employees who took us down into the caves to a secluded little dining area where it was set up for a wine pairing experience. The caves were pretty extensive with hundreds of barrels of wine in a cool temperature. the pairing of wines with different cheeses chocolates and other items definitely made the experience nice definitely a must try if you're at Eberle the ambience was very romantic. Cute tasting room and the owner quite frequently sits at his designated table in the front and enjoys his wine of choice. Eberle doesn't specialize in the bigger, bold reds I was seeking in Paso, but I knew this going in, as I'd tasted there before, a while before Covid. A few things set Eberle apart that really make it a must visit, and worth going back. Free tastings. Yes. Free. That's a thing there. They accept walk-ins, but to really get the whole experience, make a reservation. That will include the tasting of five wines, and typically a bonus sixth, and a tour of their wine caves, very nicely done, and covering 17,000 square feet of tunnels filled with barrels, a private tasting grotto, and quite an extensive tour covering the history of the winery and the area. This is really worth the reservation. The view, with the reservation, is on their terrace, and is fantastic. Lots of hawks at work hovering above the vineyard, and a couple of large black, friendly poodles roaming around. Discounts are pretty impressive. We bought four bottles that were part of a 44% off deal, and another four with my 40% off military vet discount. They offer that for military, first responders, police and fire folks, even without a membership. Do yourself a favor and put Eberle on your itinerary. Even if you aren't a fan of the lighter Rhone blends, it's still worth the visit. read more

The cave and wine tour is quick, so definitely do it! Eberle is knowledgeable about their wines and can offer suggestions pretty well. Our wine guide Michael was great with describing the wines on the tasting list and answering our questions. I didn't love all their wines, but I ended up purchasing one bottle. The inside tasting room is small but very well decorated for Christmas without being overwhelming. Clientele is varied, which proves the basic point that wine is for everyone. Views are good, but it's right off the freeway so it's not gorgeous but it's very lovely to sit outside on their covered patio, even in December. They're willing to offer suggestions to other wineries if you're looking for other types of wine they don't make, which I love and highly respect them for. read more

This is one of our absolute favorite wineries. It's our first stop. We absolutely love this in Mendels. The Cabernet reserve is delicious and even the Chardonnay. We wouldn't dream of leaving after our tasting without at least a case The folks are so friendly . Of course, we always have to say hello to mr.
