I was told the process of building bones and completing a full arch dental implant procedure would take 5 months. It is now May 25, 2023 and the final top and bottom implants are not only uncomfortable but don't function well. I cannot chew hard foods and food gets stuck at the top of my gums every time I do eat. When I smile you can see the screws in one corner of my mouth where the food is getting trapped. The bottom teeth are also very small in comparison to the top and I informed the doctor that I was not happy. I was even told by Robin Greene the Treatment Coordinator that my final implants were made overseas and because of that was forced to wait 6 weeks for them to be completed which drew out an already overdrawn process! I was given no instruction or after-care paperwork and the doctors that performed the procedure and designed the implants are refusing to return my calls. When I complained about not only the lack of comfort and functionality of the final implants, I was told that what I wanted done was not what had been put in my mouth and that I would have to pay an additional $10,000 or more for that. Just to have implants that allow me to eat normally! I was never provided another option for the implants at the onset of the procedure. Please do not come here. They are dishonest and lack integrity and I will be suing very soon.

He pulled the rest of my remaining teeth, put me…read morein temps which were ill fitting, leaving a lot of space between bridges and gums and left them in place so long that I had more bone and gum loss. He did not do root preservation, insisted bone graft could not be done and that I did not have enough bone for the implants to go where they should. Actually I most certainly did, and bone graft is the proper way to do it. You don't tell someone who was married to a Dentist for 46 years that you can't do bone graft. He caused two infections which I had to take antibiotics for and wound up putting the implants wherever he felt there was more bone instead of in the roots my teeth had come from. One of them is so close to the outside of the bone it feels as though I have a wad of cotton on the gum and it extends into my nose causing one nostril to feel stuffed all the time. That particular implant was put in by one of his associates, who told me not to move or I would wind up with a fractured jaw. When I complained that the teeth on the bridge did not go down to the gums he said "They can't." It took me a long time to realize why. He put those implants so far out on the bone, wherever he could find bone, and nowhere near where my original teeth were so the bridges extend past the gum line, beyond my arches and as a result the teeth on the bridges cannot go into or even on the gums, they go out beyond the gums as though they are flapping in the wind. Both arches now zig zag. If they ended lower down the outside would fall beyond the gumline. Food goes inside and under which is impossible to clean and the whole thing looks disgraceful. I have constant sore areas and bleeding. He destroyed my bite, causing difficulty eating and speaking (I now lisp) and cosmetically has caused dimpling and bulging in the area under my lower lip, and thinning of my upper lip (He told me the upper lip thins as you get older. I guess I aged in one day). I looked as though I needed cosmetic surgery. The upper and lower teeth hit hard and make loud clicking noises when I eat, when I speak, and even when I close my mouth. ( tells me it's because there's nothing in the roots. No, it's because the upper and lower teeth are not even supposed to touch). I have to be very careful because if I forget and bite down too hard it feels like a shockwave going through my entire head. Since he jury rigged my whole upper and lower and then threw a cheaply made couple of bridges made of inferior material into my mouth they are crooked, (I look like I had a stroke). At one point I was so uncomfortable and complained enough so he said I was right- the lower bridge was way out of whack with the top, and he agreed to have his "lab" fix it. He then charged me $15,000 for the privilege. I discovered he actually put it down as $37,000 with a discount. I spent over two years running back and forth for adjustments hoping he could solve the problem which he didn't, to the tune of $100,000. They have a little troll in the back room which they call their "in house lab". The guy might as well have a knife and a block of clay. They claim to have six top technicians. It is a lie. The work is awful and the material inferior. Food sticks to every surface and I cannot let my teeth show after I eat. I have to brush them and use soft pix to clean them. The biting surfaces are sharp and ragged and since he moved the arches so far out to the sides and front of my mouth I am constantly biting into the tissue on the inside of my mouth causing pain and bleeding. When I told him about it he said there was nothing he could do about it . That's when I realized I had to go elsewhere. The huge sum of money I had paid paled in comparison with this disaster of a mouth because of a Dentist who should not be practicing. There are a few people he uses an outside lab for because he knows they will know the difference (so I found out), but he assumed that I, as a senior citizen along with what most of the people I have seen in the waiting room are, would accept it and believe everything I was told, and be grateful I am not wearing dentures. The end goal would be dentures at further charge once these implants would fail, which is a given. It cost me $100,000 to have this damage done to my mouth and my quality of life. His bottom line, and that of his practice, is to throw in a handful of implants wherever you want, jury rig a couple of cheap bridges to cover them, work as fast as you can, and never do bone graft or anything else which would eat up the profit. Then tell you how lucky you were to have extra time without dentures. One surgeon I went to after I left his office asked "Who in hell did this to you?" I have in writing from Livers' office that they would refund some of my money if I promised to hold them harmless. They also held back some of my records and models which also would not be given to me without a hold harmless.

After hours of surfing the web and a couple Advil's later, I finally came to the conclusion that the nearest dental clinic that provided the proper attention I needed was on community drive, which is close by; very convenient. I decided to gather more information on there services. On Monday afternoon I made an appt. for Tuesday morning, now that my unpleasant attitude at work wasn't surprisingly cherished, I knew I eagerly needed my painful problem to be solved. Even knowing myself, how complicated I am and my unusual phobia on dental equipment the search was over. A lady answers the phone (later on during the course of the conversation I made the conclusion that she was actually very sweet.), all my questions were answered in a respectful and professional way. She was very informative, actually made me more comfortable. Now the whole time all I can think is "I hope the Dr. is as well as charming." The following day I arrive 10 min earlier then planned. Yet the receptionist graciously invites me in and kindly offers me coffee or tea (funny coffee stains your teeth.). I smiled and accepted her offer on the cup of tea. I get a small tour from one of the delightful dental asst. and 3 min. later my room was ready. The pain was unbearable but the amusing dental asst. made the x rays more of a pleasant experience. Then Dr. Golden (first name Linda; my mother's name, I adore my mother.) explains the further process in vivid details and all I can do is nod my head with agreement, her humorous and sympathetic charisma was the cherry on the sundae, now her medical work ethics was the sundae itself. We came to the outcome that the tooth had to go and so it did, 2 days later my co-workers were glad to see me sociable once again. Great experience, very knowledgeable....TWO thumbs up!!

She's a very high pressure sales person professing to be caring. And a very low performance, low quality Dentist. The work she did on my mouth in supposedly as she put it "cleaning things up" before actually doing any of the work that I wanted done was ridiculously excessive and I was charged $7000. She effectively drilled to pieces every good tooth I had in my head and left me in incredible pain right before I was going into surgery for a mastectomy. I had no idea of the extent she intended to do because she didn't communicate that at all, she just said she was going to "clean things up" in my mouth. I was completely shocked at what she did and then the restorations she did were appalling they didn't fit, there are gaps, colors don't match and numerous areas that were incredibly painful, she broke off a cap and honestly, she was so rough in her execution, I left there feeling like I had been assaulted. I couldn't even drink tepid water without pain, hot and cold food was so painful. I was too terrified to go back to her to get them adjusted because I just didn't know how much more damage she was going to do to my mouth. I found a very good dentist in Brooklyn who fixed the cap that she completely broke off temporarily, it will now need an implant and re did the three very painful teeth. I lost yet another tooth because she destroyed so much of it and I had to get another expensive cap. She did this to me, knowing that I was actively being treated for breast cancer and she made it impossible for me to eat anything or even drink tepid water comfortably for three months. I had to wait until I was past the surgery before I could find a new dentist and get to him. He just completed the work last week. I can't begin to express what an awful experience this has been and how it has made this dreadful year even worse. I can't believe I was taken advantage of by such a charlatan when I was so ill and charged so much money for absolutely appalling destruction of my teeth. I would sue her, but I don't have the time or the resources right now as I'm going through chemo and honestly if I ever saw her again, I don't know what I would do because I am so incredibly angry. She needs to be struck off, stopped from hurting people and taking advantage of them, financially,. She's a menace to society. I think you should look at her yelp reviews. I wish I had before I went to her. I am not the only one that has suffered at her dreadful hands. If you wish to verify what I have told you here, you are welcome to contact my new dentist who has the detailed evidence of the damage done. She can supply you with the original cone xray for comparison. He's a very nice, kind, careful considered, gentle man, the polar opposite of what she is. I really don't no now what I'm going to do about my teeth because I still need to get the root canals dealt with but I now understand that complete porcelain teeth are not appropriate for molars as they would just break. I can only say that this has been a nightmare. And I never got the teeth that I wanted removed done. Yours, very sincerely Cay Chandler

I'm glad I did because my 94-year-old father is so much happier now that he has new dentures made by Dr. Eliot Heisler of Elite Dental Spa in Great Neck. If I could rate him and his practice 10 stars, I would. You could say that my father is a retired dentist and that Dr. Heisler treated him this well because of this. You could say that they went to the same dental school and therefore he was treated well because they had things to share. You could say he seemed honored to work on my dad because my dad retired at 87. But this would be only partially correct. While I sat there in the treatment room watching and listening, patients would stop and say a very cheerful hello to the doctor and he would ask how they were. They were genuinely pleased to see each other. I learned that while some had moved away, they continued to go to his practice. They were there to see the hygienist, but it was obvious that he sees them for their checkups and other treatments. His speciality is Prosthodontics, but does many other dental services.. To my father he was so kind, so respectful and gentle. There is no doubt that this describes Dr. Heisler's demeanor with everyone. My father had to go for several fittings for his new dentures. His old dentures had caused him problems for years and caused changes in the bone structure of his mouth. I actually think my father enjoyed going to him because normally he fusses over visits to professionals! But, Everyone, I mean EVERYONE that works in this practice is friendly, welcoming and helpful. I can't say enough about them. I don't know how Dr. Heisler found these treasures!! My father is happy so I am happy. Thank you, Dr. Heisler and staff, many times over!!

Lake Success Dental Care Edith…read more Five stars and a dentist's office sounds like an oxymoron, a contradiction, a paradox. It's like jumbo shrimp or a garbage dump that smells sweet. These things just don't make sense or don't happen...and yet, there's an exception to every rule. In this case, Lake Success Dental Care in New Hyde Park 100% fits that idea. Okay, maybe I just have a very melodramatic history with dentists. I didn't go to one for a length of time I'd rather not discuss just due to never having a legitimate dentist I trusted or felt wouldn't yell at me for lack of brushing/flossing/etc. Then my sis/mother told me about Lake Success Dental Care and I finally decided I needed to bite the bullet (preferably not before a dentist trip, tooth joke) and make an appointment (plus they accepted my insurance, so that worked). Upon entering the office building where the practice is located, I was a ball of nerves, but the nicely-decorated waiting area almost didn't feel like I was about to have people stick their hands in my mouth. Things were comfortable and welcoming, with a phone charging station available if needed. Good start. Once my name was called, the nerves rose a little more, but each employee I met was very kind and I have to say, no one even came close to wagging a finger in my direction due to dental hygiene (even if they probably should have). The dentist I saw that day, Dr. Dai, didn't emanate a great initial friendliness, but he still kept things calm in his process. From that first trip back in November to now, I've visited Lake Success Dental Care four times (one more before a break!) and they've done some great work in getting my mouth all caught up on cleanings and fillings. Each trip was more of the same: calm, welcoming, timely, and never reprimanding (a big win in my book). I also met Edith, who will process your payments before you depart. She's a big reason why I almost (dare I say) enjoy coming to the dentist. Her and the whole friendly staff has made a lasting impression on me (even Dr. Dai opened up this last time around). Two other favorable factors worth mentioning are their hours and notifications. They run crazy times for a dentist's office with nights going until 9 as well as weekend hours available both Saturday and Sunday. They honestly make it hard for you to not find a time that works (even if you try...which I might have done when making that first phone call, heh heh). Once you've got your appointment, they'll call, email, and even text to make sure don't forget when to come in. Even though I'm usually good with dates, it's still great to know when I'm approaching that dental visit (you can't escape it!) Overall, Lake Success Dental Care has turned my world around in how I perceive dentists. I'm sure there are plenty of practices that are actually formidable for those without a childhood phobia of dentistry, but if you're reading this review and fear for your next dental visit, fear no more! Lake Success Dental Care is here for comfort, friendliness, proficiency, and an all-around positive experience. So maybe five stars isn't so far fetched for a dentist. Now we have to work on that sweet-smelling garbage dump...
