I just left this place feeling really uncomfortable, and totally turned off. I've been here before. Came in for a cleaning. Hygenist did a great job, fantastic cleaning and x-rays. Showed me exactly what is wrong with my teeth. Dr. Volk also came in, explained what I needed, and I actually agree that the treatment plan makes sense. Then I'm just left there in the chair, and then the treatment plan person comes in. I thought that it would be an estimate that I could review at home and make financial decisions over. She asks me to come into her office, I said I needed to get back to work (as I just set aside time for the appointment) she keeps talking and then says she needs to talk to Dr Volk. I wait some more. She comes up front and then asks me to come into her office anyway because 'something changed'. I let her explain for a few minutes, understand the thought process, and said that I need to digest it, but that I do take it seriously and need to check my insurance, etc. I also said that I need to get back to work. She keeps talking, saying 'lets do the cavities, etc' I said that will probably be my plan, but I need to check my finances, insurance, etc and make a plan - they are handing me an 8000 dollar treatment plan. Only after I asserted myself more (that I needed to return to work) that she relented. This literally was high-pressure used car salesman like tactics. It ruined an otherwise good experience with the hygenist and Dr Volk. I understand the urgency of the work - thats not the problem. The problem is that this office left me totally uncomfortable today. I expect that from a used car salesman, and I go in prepared for it. But not from my dentist. I even recommended them to my wife. This really stinks. read more

I never had a cavity in my life til I came to this office at 32 years old. constantly trying to get money. the office manager is also the rudest and most incompetent person - she booked me two times using wrong insurance and appointment information then told me it was my fault I didn't confirm it . absolutely horrendous office thank goodness there are plenty of other dentists on the same block. read more

TLDR: They are very aggressive with their diagnosis and ordered drilling that was not necessary as the cavities they wanted to drill did not exist. I had gone to my primary dentist less than a month previous to going to 3V Dental and got the all-clear that I had no cavities or decay in my mouth. When I went to 3V they diagnosed me with 6 cavities. I went to a 3rd dentist to see if he would align with either conclusion (I do not have cavities, I have 6 cavities, or somewhere in the middle) after a thorough review of the x-rays and examining my mouth, he concluded I had NO cavities or decay. I don't like giving bad reviews and always try to see the positive in each place I review, but what happened at 3V was bizarre, to say the least. I made my appointment with 3V to get a new retainer made to replace the one I have. They mentioned that they would need to do a full cleaning before the scan, which makes sense to me so I went in expecting a full cleaning and scan. The hygienist started by taking full X-rays of my mouth, again pretty standard and expected. What was not expected was being told I had 6 cavities that needed to be filled ASAP. This was a large flag for me as I had seen my primary dentist less than 3 weeks ago and he gave me the all-clear, that I had no cavities or decay. I mentioned this to the hygienist and she insisted that I had 6 cavities. I would like to mention that my mouth was not examined or looked at to confirm the x-rays. I was very alarmed and called my primary dentist to send over their x-rays from less than 3 weeks ago. In the meantime, the hygienist went and got the dentist who, again, did not look in my mouth. He looked at the X-rays and told me that most of the cavities would need to be filled ASAP. He also mentioned that my fillings were bad and only had a lifespan of 4 to 5 years since they were plastic. I found this odd because the fillings he was pointing at were nearly 8 years old and had been checked and deemed fine by my primary dentist. They said they could not do the scan because of the fillings which makes sense, so I left without a cleaning, or scan done to my teeth. I was very concerned over the two very different diagnoses I had received and made an appointment the next day at a third dentist to see if they would come to a similar conclusion (I have 6 cavities, I have no cavities, or somewhere in the middle) he looked at the X-rays from both dentists and examined my whole mouth paying special attention to where 3V said I had cavities and found nothing. I have no cavities or decay in my mouth. I am not sure why 3V came to such a different conclusion than the other two dentists, but I cannot recommend them. They never looked in my mouth to confirm their findings and would have caused more damage to my mouth than what is reasonably necessary. They are too aggressive with their methods and risk doing unnecessary work on their clients.. read more

From the scheduling of appointments, getting insurance estimates, to excellent dentistry 3V provides it in a professional and friendly way. I was in LI over the weekend and broke a tooth. A friend recommended Drs. Volk and Volk and I RAN. When I called, all panicked, Renee (at the front desk) was warm and welcoming and was able to fit me into the schedule on the same day. Upon arrival, I was seen immediately by Dr. Volk and she was incredible welcoming and caring and was able to put me out of pain immediately. I left that day without pain and with a temporary crown. I had to return the following week for my permanent one. Dr. Volk is knowledgable and friendly and most importantly, comforting. I'd highly recommend her to anyone!!!!! read more

Highly recommend against this establishment and I am reporting them to the NY Dental Association and am also looking to file a lawsuit against them. They claimed I had cavities on both of my molars on both sides and went ahead and perforated by molars on one side, so one side was treated or damaged. I have never had cavities in my life, so I was shocked when I had that assessment. Luckily I only had one side done, as I was suspicious of their claims. I checked with my previous dentist and even got another opinion by another dentist in Port Washington and sure enough, they said I had no cavities according to their expert opinion. I already talked to some lawyers, but unfortunately this would not constitute potential large sums, so they seem unwilling to take the case. I could care less about money, but just find it absurd that professionals such as Dr. Volk can go around just lying and mis-diagnosing cavities just for the sake of money, as he did with me. I hope he loses his license to practice and I will be sure to report to all the necessary authorities, as I see his behavior as straight out criminal. read more

I had a really terrible experience at 3V Dental yesterday. I think the dentist's name is Dr. Baek. She had extremely poor communication and lacked basic courtesies of patient interactions. Please avoid going to 3V Dental! If anyone is interested in the specifics: - I went in for a simple filling procedure. I have had fillings before (with another dentist), but I have never felt pain or discomfort as here. Never experienced such unprofessional behavior and complete disregard for the patient's well-being. - Almost all doctors inform the patient on what they are doing and how during a procedure. She did not provide any communication about any of things that she was doing. Also, she had an assistant with her and she was worse than the dentist! The dentist rushed through the application of the numbing agent. I have heard from friends and family that the numbing agent needs a few minutes to work before the injection, but she pushed the injection within a min or 2...she did not give me any heads up before the injections into my gums. I have never seen a doctor who lacks the basic courtesy of warning patients before an injection!! This was extremely painful and kept me in pain throughout the whole procedure and the rest of the day and night. - I told the dentist that I had a stuffy nose from allergies. She ignored my initial comments. During the procedure, the build-up of fluids caused me to choke several times. I repeatedly told her I was not feeling well. It took her an hour to get 2 fillings done! With other dentists, I have had fillings done in 45 mins and with no pain or discomfort! - Also, there were multiple times when she poked me inside my mouth on my cheek and lips with the sharp pointy scraping tool. PLEASE AVOID 3V DENTAL!!! read more

Always great friendly service. Hygienist are gentle with my sensitive gums and I really appreciate that! I always used to take Advil before going to my other dentist office. Our youngest son's teeth are straight and whiter now and he is so thankful for the Invisalign and whitening procedure specials they ran a few years back making it more affordable. Three V has a new state of the art office with high tech dental equipment in downtown Port Washington convenient to the LIRR. Never thought I would say this....but my whole family loves going to see Dr. Kellerman and/or Dr. Volk! Came to see Dr.Volk for a large chip in my left front tooth. He took me right away, once getting my tooth assessed, he began his work. Making sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. Everyone is very nice there. My issue is it feels too much like I'm trying to be convinced to do work just to max my insurance plan. I don't need to max it just for the heck of it. Also your instantly asked to leave a yelp review after the visit. I would imagine they don't ask their clients who received poor service. I was also called on average once a week to follow up on services. It's just excessive. I know they are a business that makes money but that's not the feeling I like to get when I go to any doctors office. Also the filling I received I'm already seeing the cavity showing again. Also the offices are all open with no walls. I like open layouts. Just not at doctors offices. I had to hear s woman an utter pain my entire visit. read more

Booking appointments is pretty easy, and the front office team has been accommodating to last minute changes the couple of times i needed for them to be. BEWARE of this establishment.. It was all smiles and courtesy until you walk out and they catch you with surprise payments, i gave them extra chances and they screwed me TWICE and a half which was my last straw and forced me to warn the public about this place. One of my first experiences the doctor told me a filling would be $20 and as I walked out they billed me $450!! They said it was my fault for not checking the dental plan they planned out for me initially, as if I walk around with it and memorize it. basically what they do is give you a dental plan and then on your future visits they assume your consent do the work and bill you on the way out!! They just got me again.... I signed dup for a root canal, they first charged me $170 and said insurance covers the rest, next visit they said they made a mistake on the insurance coverage and charged me an additional $170, on the third visit they charged me an additional $180!! they said it was for a post, which i never consented to, i wanted a standard filling as i was not doing the crown. The doctor is so arrogant that he assumes your doing all the expensive work in advance. They do not tell you the charges until its too late. Can't rave enough about this practice! The personal care and concern they display is incredible. I have been a patient for a few years now and my teeth are in the best shape they have ever been in my life. I continuously get compliments and I feel great. Even when I am getting treatment from specialists (oral surgeons etc) Dr Kellerman stays close to my case to ensure I am progressing and feeling good about the complete treatment plan.
