Glistening Lamb and Chicken Donner. Delicious!
    Mark H.

While walking to take the Teeling Distillery tour, I walked by Passion 4 Food where rich and enticing smells of roasting meat and spices wafted from the open kitchen right out the door. Through the window I saw upright spits of lamb and chicken. There were people standing in line and it appeared to me that they have a booming take away business. I stopped to take a picture of the sign and returned later that night. I'm from San Francisco, California and we have a lot of middle eastern and Mediterranean cuisine. Passion 4 food effortlessly exceeded my expectations. I've been in Ireland now for three weeks and this is the only restaurant I have returned to patronize. 1) The restaurant is super-clean and organized. It is well staffed and busy. These are all good signs. A busy restaurant means the food is turning over and fresh. The staff was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu items to me. Another word on freshness, while I was eating, the restaurant's food order arrived from the purveyor and you could see the vegetables were crisp and the chicken was pristine. 2) I ordered the bbq lamb. Not only was it delicious; they marinate it in light spices and perhaps lemon, and it was perfectly cooked. The lamb was absolutely succulent and tender. The perfect bits of char and glistening fat melded the flavors together as the spices entertained my taste buds. I read another review (with photos) where it looked like our man's lamb was overcooked. If that happens, tell the staff and give them a chance to correct it. The second time I ate at Passion 4 Food, I'd been thinking about the place for a week. I ordered the Lamb/Chicken Donner plate. This is the meat they cut off of the rotisserie. Amazingly, the chicken was as juicy and delicious and the lamb I'd devoured on my first visit. 3) VALUE: I spent $8 on my second visit and my plate was loaded with a mound of meat, rice, salad and sauce. Get in there and eat!

Stumbled into this place when the place I wanted to go was closed. I love shawarma so I was pretty excited. The portions are enormous and my gyro was very flavorful with great textures. These guys really care about making good, cheap food. They were joking around with customers, giving out free pita and seemed to be enjoying themselves. A fun place.

Half of extra tender spring lamb ribs with special secret sauce. Bullshit spotted.

Extra tender spring lamb ribs bbq with our secret sauce. That's what they advertise, what I got ? Check the picture. 4 miserable extra burn uber chewy lamb ribs. I hike there ( yes hike because I live on the north side and its quite a walk to get there ) thanks to a fabulous article on the Lovin Dublin which consider Passion 4 food and I quote " The best Kebab in Dublin ". I strongly suspect that they took a briefcase full of cash and gold in exchange cuz this is BULLSHIT. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO COMPARE TO ZEITOUN. YOUR HEARD ME, NOTHING PERIOD

I was there on dinner . I think one of the best kabab shop Dublin; salad are really fresh & their own hand made sauce extremely A-one.

The chicken wings are just the absolute best! Charcoal grilled spicy pieces that compete with any backyard barbecue. So good.

They have a good selection of Mediterranean cuisine (shish kabobs, falafels). I've eaten there most at the end of the night of hanging out at different pubs and their food really hit the spot. I remember their beef shish or falafel meals. Their meat and falafel balls seem fresh and their stuff includes fresh veggies. They turn their orders around very quickly at late night, either for dine-in or take-away. They have plenty of dine-in seating. Zaytoon and its staff were very helpful at the late night rush, I'm assuming they're just as good during the day.

I tried the Beef Kebab, the Koobideh (spiced ground lamb and beef), and the Falafel (herbaceous chickpea fritters). The kebabs were juicy and flavorful, but the falafels were too soft, wet, and crumbly for my liking. The family-style menu also came with hummus, tzatziki, a spicy chili sauce, salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, red onion, pickled red cabbage), and freshly-baked rounds of taftoon flatbread. Overall, everything we tried was flavorful, healthy, and came at a reasonable price for the quality of food!

Located near St. Stephen's Green, I stumbled upon it while famished and searching for lunch. Western Europe tends to have a large number of Turkish kebab spots and this is really no different but I will give them some points for having a catchy name and good signage. Kebabs are the European version of fast food and is especially convenient for lunchtime takeaway. That is what I typically get but this place had other items on the menu too including Fish and Chips, Pizzas, etc. I noted that they were hand-tossing dough to order for their Kebab wraps and their pizzas so this is so much better than what we tend to see for fast food lunch options in the USA. There are only about 5 tables in the place so if you eat in, don't be a jerk and monopolize a table for a long time. Stuff your pie hole and move out. Better yet, take away and go to St. Stephen's Green across the street for a park bench setting to enjoy your lunch. If you go between noon-7p, they have meal specials that come with chips and a beverage. If you are a moron like me, you miss the sign and order a Doner Kebab and a drink and miss the meal deal and end up paying about an extra 1€. The guys working the place are polite, they get your order right (I asked for extra chili and peppers), and they know how to move a crowd. While I was in there about 25 people followed me in and slammed them with lunch orders but they kept up with the pace and got everyone taken care of in a timely way. The food was exactly as you would expect. Look at the photos and it tastes as good as it looks and all for under 7€ in general. The salad toppings are very fresh and the meat is shaved to order and not slowly dying and going limp under a heat lamp as I have seen at some other Kebab houses. I enjoyed my lunch there and am going to go back to grab another one to stick in my hotel cooler for my jet-lag middle of the night snack when I wake up around 1 am as is my usual Europe habit. It's not fancy, it's not trendy, it's not hip. But it is inexpensive by European standards, tasty, and filling. It is a no-brainer for 4 stars from me.

I'm originally from Germany and we have Kebab-places there in every street, so I'm usually quite prejudiced against these places abroad already. What I can say is that the meat is extraordinary and the herbs and spices give it the perfect aroma. I never had such a good meat before in a kebab. The bread is self made and baked in a stone oven. It is a really good portion to eat. With the meat comes lettuce, tomatoes, olives, red cabbage, a chili and onions. Also you get 2 sauces in a separate bowl, so you can basically create the kebab yourself. There is rarely fat dropping from the kebab and all the ingredients are pickled and don't just come plain. The whole restaurant looks very clean inside. It also seems to be refurbished not that long time ago. If I could I would rate this place with 100 stars. If you like Kebab, there is no better place in Dublin. Trust me, I tried them all.
