Initially, I worked with Chandler who provided insight into the changes I should make to my current weapon to comply with all regulations. After parts arrived, Jared was able to explain the intricacies of CA laws regarding "AR type" rifles. Between the two of them, their knowledge of firearms and CA regulations allowed me to make purchasing decisions that ensured that my rifle met all legal requirements in CA. If you have any questions about legality of specific rifles or types of rifles (black powder vs standard cartridges), I would recommend a stop by Discount Guns on a weekday when they're not busy. The simulator is a great way to put into practice what you are learning and get more time participating in your training rather than sitting and looking at slides. On the range, the entire team was helpful and friendly. They made sure it was a safe environment and that everyone understood what was expected and helped you prepare for the actual qualification part of the training. I would recommend going to any firearms training with "The Gunsmith Guy". I will be scheduling more training myself after some time practicing what I have learned. The cost is a great factor too, one of the lower cost classes I found, but top tier when it comes to the actual training.

We were told after-school care would be available for the upcoming school year, so we planned accordingly. We also signed a contract for our child to attend through the summer. It wasn't until after that contract was signed that we were told they would no longer be providing after-school care, leaving us about two months before school started to find something else. Anyone who has looked for childcare knows two months is not much time. Most programs already have waitlists by then, which is exactly what we ran into. When families impacted brought up the lack of notice, their response was that information about the school's Expanded Learning Program had been available since May, suggesting we had actually had more time to make other arrangements. Except there was one pretty important piece of information missing in May: they never told us they weren't going to provide after-school care. Seeing information about another program doesn't tell me that I need to find new childcare when the daycare we've used for nine years has told us they'll continue providing it. Had they said in May, "We will not be offering after-school care next year," we would have immediately started making other arrangements. That conversation never happened. Thankfully, my kids' school expanded its after-school program and we were able to get a spot. We got lucky. Unfortunately, that still doesn't solve before-school care, so we're now still trying to figure that out and school started today. I completely understand that programs change. I understand staffing and operational needs change too. My issue isn't that they decided to stop offering the service. It's how and when they communicated it. I also want to be very clear that this review is not a reflection of the teachers who cared for our children over the years. In fact, some of the people there are the reason we stayed as long as we did. Jill and Wafaa, in particular, are two of the most amazing people. They were incredibly kind, caring, and wonderful with my kids, and I will always be grateful for the way they treated and cared for them. They deserve to be recognized separately from my frustration with how this situation was handled. This is also why I have 2 stars instead of just 1. That's part of what makes this ending so disappointing. Our children grew up there. We spent nearly a decade building relationships with people we genuinely care about. After nine years, I would have expected a simple, direct heads-up before families were asked to commit to summer care. And when we expressed frustration about the timing, pointing to information about a completely different program instead of simply acknowledging that they never actually told us their own after-school care would no longer be available made the situation worse. If you're considering this daycare, my biggest recommendation is to get future childcare plans in writing and don't assume that a service you've been told will continue is guaranteed. There are some truly wonderful teachers here, and we will miss them. Unfortunately, the communication and handling of this situation left a very different final impression. Nine years deserved a better ending than this.

STAY AWAY. The first time I went there, I was instantly put off by the staff. The big puffy bald guy makes you feel like you're being date raped just by talking to you. I did buy a few guns at their auctions, because you can find some interesting items. I always felt dirty whenever I had to deal with their staff though. I even saw the bald guy verbally assault, humiliate, and kick out (On a microphone, so everyone could hear!) an old woman at the auction for giving out her business cards to people at the event. The real problems came when I went to sell stuff. He told me that my antique knives weren't even worth auctioning (But apparently an old box of VHS tapes is??), and when I politely disagreed on their value, he said "This is my shop!! I say what things are worth!) Wow. For some reason, I went back a year later to auction some things and to buy a rifle in a separate transaction. Well, they auctioned my things, and refused to pay me because the things I brought in to auction were "traded in" towards the gun, which wasn't the case, because I paid full price for the gun. I checked on my receipt, and it was left completely ambiguous, so I had no documentation to back it up. I would never deal with these people again. EVER. They lie just to steal $90. Don't take my word for it. Go in there... Chat with the big bald guy, or his mean crotchety old mother. You'll feel dirty. They're awful people. I'm sure the karma train will smack them around in the near future. Cheers! read more

I've lived in Lakeside for 47 years and have seen lots of businesses fail for various reasons. In my opinion this place is on the fast track to locked doors. I went to transter two pistols to a friend. I know that by law gun stores cannot charge more than $35 for the 1st gun and $31 for each additional. My jaw almost hit the floor when a bald guy with a crappy attitude said we would be charged $25 per gun plus sales tax on what I planned on selling the guns for, plus for the priveledge of storing the guns for the 10 day wait he would charge $75 each gun. So we went to Discount gun mart in santee and were treated professionally and within the price set by CA. Law. If I didn't know any better I'd say this place is a front because they are clearly not in business to provide any kind of service. read more

Don't give these people your hard earned money so they can feed the fat bald F#*K with the crappy attitude, The worst customer service I have ever seen and an attitude to match. They will not see me walking through their door again and I suggest to everyone that they steer clear of this place. I will spend my money elsewhere. FYI Fat Bald F#^K does not know anything about guns. He tried to tell me a 1800.00 rifle was worth 700.00 and that if it was auctioned off the business would get 35% of the auction price or he could give me 455.00 for it on the spot. This shop is great the daughter is so friendly and spends time making sure to get you the right gun for your needs. I walked in the door looking for a home defense firearm she showed me many options and different choices sat with me for over an hour explaining the differences and made sure I got the right fit for me. I'm thrilled with my purchase and once I get my taxes I'm going back I will tell everyone about past and present I'm not sure what these other people are talking about but my experience was outstanding. read more
