They sell ammo, use their guns and targets for a small fee. Bring your own eye and ear protection. Clean and organized inside. I arrived this past Monday at 2:00PM. I walked in and stood by the door, behind two other customers. There were two guys behind the counter closing pick-ups. Neither acknowledged me as a waiting customer. Ten minutes later, the next guy was helped. Again, no acknowledgment to me or the guy in front of me. I left five minutes later. When I got home, I browsed online prices for their competitor. Although the store name has discount in it, their prices were noticeably higher than their competitor. I hit their competitor's store at 2:00PM the very next day. After being rebuffed at the Morena Blvd. store, "Sold out", and practically demanding that the counter 'clerk' (he was no salesman, trust me) call the Santee store for inventory, I drove here to purchase 9mm ammo, which was advertised at a relatively good price. No problem! I was greeted upon entering the store and purchased the ammo. My shooting partner also made a purchase. It's too bad this location is inconvenient for both of us. read more

Went to the range with friends to try out their G19, G17 and XD45 since I was deciding between these options. The range was appointment was easy to set up and was clean and the staff was friendly and professional. After our session I looked around the store and Chandler helped me out. Great guy and super helpful. With no intention to purchase that day, I ended up purchasing an XD9 because the service was great and even priced matched with another LGS. The customer service there is by far some of the best and all the employees have great attitudes even when being a little overwhelmed with the constant influx of customers (I swear these guys don't take no breaks) looking to either purchase a firearm or accessories. They're also very knowledgeable. My man Will H is the is an absolute stud! He always goes above and beyond with his help which makes for a great transaction. They also have a nice indoor range and they really do try to accommodate all shooters both with lane reservations and without. Though making a reservation is highly recommended during these times, don't let that stop you from heading down if you didn't make one. You may have to wait a bit but they will do their best to get you in and on a lane. I've been down there more than a handful of times without a reservation and have been able to get a lane every time. Also if you're gonna go to the range often check out the memberships they have. Ok, so my 1st purchase at DGM was sometime around 1998 at the Morena store. Good experience as far as I can remember. Then, over 20 years later I have time for shooting and purchase another firearm with them. They were great in my retesting, advise on firearms. DGM can be busy so either try and time your visit on times when people aren't off work & not on weekends. If you do go when it's busy, understand that there are usually 3-4 employees but this isn't Trader Joe's. You don't just grab an item and self check out. Be patient. This isn't fast food! Personally, I have had times where it was too busy and I came back at a better time. It is what it is. Prices are as good as anywhere in SD, same with selection. Granted, I've only been to 2-3 other stores in SD. But DGM is my local shop and I have enjoyed my experiences there. My wife has taken (and continues to take) class at DGM and is not only comfortable with firearms, but she is working towards her CCW in part because of DGM. read more

I was afraid of the gun not being in stock, but I was wrong. They had the gun, whereas their competitors didn't. Awesome. The DROS process was automated and quick. BTW, I waited in line for about 30 minutes before being helped. Return 10 days later, gun now out of stock, but I got mine! Very lean gun shop + range with excellent customer service. They have a respectable selection of rifles, handguns and shotguns, Small ammo selection, but oddly huge variety of ear protection. Ken, my arms dealer was friendly, knowledgable, and professional. I came in looking at a specific 9mm low-end firearm (sd9ve) and he presented options +/- my price range. After a bit of deliberation, I settled on a Springfield XD9 which was a bit above my budget. He honored a sales price which wasn't available until next month which was the sweetener. Every other person I interacted with was kind as well. During the 10 day wait period you are permitted to use your firearm at the in-store range which is cool. The range itself is small. Processing the paperwork and getting a lane can take a bit of time. Come before 11:00am on weekends if you don't want to wait. I think there's like 8 lanes. Lanes 1-4 use a more modern system for moving the target down range, the others use an older system that's tricky to operate but there are instructions. Sound insulation is good. read more

We bought our Glock online, sight unseen but just happy to get something -- paid in full and they scheduled an appointment to come take the test and that was about 2-3 weeks out because everyone is slammed. Passed the test and waited for clearance. Pick up and ammo purchase was smooth although the person showing me the gun's basics skipped things like where the safety is -- he seemed very new and undertrained.
