For years, my favorite game shop has been Tate's. Not too long ago, Tate's Gaming Satellite redesigned their store and has, at a guess, 2/3 of their space devoted to gaming tables and maybe 1/3 devoted to stock. Good games, for sure, but not a lot of stock. I checked out Past Present Future after a geek friend recommended it. HUGE selection of board and card games, easily 5x the selection Tate's Gaming Satellite has. Not just titles less than 90 days old, either -- there were some good older titles on the shelves. Oh yeah, AND this is the only shop I've found in Broward Co that stocks Dice Masters games, which I've been sniffing around for since summer 2015. The service here has been awesome each time I've visited. One cashier even took a few minutes to answer my 5 1/2-year-old's random questions about superheroes. THAT isn't something you find every day! HIGHLY recommended for their variety of game stock. I'm not a comic book guy so I can't speak to that side of the business. Final word: this is my new favorite game shop. read more

Being a previous comic fan from the early 90's, it has been quite a while since I've stopped by a comic book store. Then I heard about this place on Facebook, and since I'm a big fan of The Walking Dead series, I thought hey why not check this baby out. I'm glad I did. The store staff were friendly and helpful, and they have quite the selection in comics, from new to old, and especially the series comics. They have a little bit of everything - gaming, comics, anime and fantasy related items in this huge mega comics store. They also sell t-shirts and other items fans may be interested in. They look like they've got something good going on - the place usually has some customers whenever I stop by. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going and make this place a local institution. read more

I can't say I had any bad customer service. What I can say is that the pricing is horrendous compared to other shops. You'd do better to go to Tate's, Korka, Gauntlet, Phil's comics. All of those are far more inviting than this store with reasonable prices. The guy must spend half his day on e-bay looking at the "buy it nows" before new books come out. read more

First off, SUPER knowledgeable. They knew an answer to every question I posed to them, a trait that some comic shops lack sorely. I'm an avid comic collector and a DC canon freak, and they knew every bit of what I was talking about. Secondly, great selection of not only comics but Gundam models, action figures, trades, statues, busts, card games, role playing game materials such as D&D/Pathfinder books and such, and other tabletop materials, (they even sell vapes & the liquids!). Thirdly, again, knowledgable, I wanted to start playing a tabletop RPG and they helped me acquire all the tools I could possibly need to play with my group. Fourthly, they are very casual and friendly, they welcome you in, ask if you need help or have questions and since they have multiple stores they can always order what you need or get it transferred for you. PPF had a decent selection on Gundam's and the prices weren't too off from what they are online. The snack section was lacking a bit but their comic book section was extensive and had a good mix. I've been to Tate's many times and while they have more selection they have become less friendly the bigger their store gets. The staff at this store was very friendly and helpful unlike these reviews say, maybe they changed employees. Who knows but it's closer to where I live and I'll definitely be back. I'm a (was) customer with subscription that invests roughly $70 a week (approx. $300 a month = close to $4000 annually). No longer spending a penny at this store due to the lack of professionalism from the store manager, Eddie. He talks a good talk about looking out for the best interest of the business, but his lack of understanding how to speak to a customer without screaming and hollering is embarrassing. I'm an avid collector for 30 years and this is the first time I've encountered such blatant disregard for customer service in any store, convention etc. read more

If you're looking for a comic book haven, this is it. Honestly, FL Super Comics is one of the best comic book stores I've ever been to. They have a bit of everything, not to mention that there's a large variety in that bit of everything. They also fulfill my Japanese snacking needs, having quite a large variety of snacks and Ramune (my personal favorite section of the store :P). Their events and their staff is like the icing on the cake (literally, that's what got me hooked to the store :D). They always host different events, which tend to be really cool (especially when lots of people show up) and the workers are super friendly. All in all, you've got to visit this store. Where do I even begin? Aside from the incredibly rude customers that seem to LIVE in this establishment, (which I realize are no fault of the retailer) my biggest complaint has to be in regards to the godawful service in this place. I went in with my husband, friend, and sons to check out some old school Birds of Prey when I remembered that the new X-Men had just released (awful, but I was giving it a shot). I look to the counter to ask if it was in stock only to see that the counter was completely abandoned. I looked around the entire store, nothing. After waiting several minutes, a rather disheveled fellow comes sauntering out of the back, looking at his phone and taking his sweet time to get to the front. I figured maybe he didn't know I was waiting for him, so I cleared my throat and said "Hi, do you work here?" He simply nodded and kept looking at his phone, and at one point stopped on his path to the counter to text before finally getting to the counter. THEN, he proceeds to look at something on a laptop, sits down, texts some more, looks BACK AT THE LAPTOP, and then looks up. Just as I was about to ask him if he could help me (which, at this point, I think I was doing out of a form of masochism) another gentleman steps up next to me and says "Hi, I take it you work here, can you help me out?" AND THE GUY STANDS UP AND ASSISTS HIM QUICKLY AND PROFESSIONALLY, after he had straight ignored me just minutes before! I was flabbergasted. Never in my life had I received such blatantly rude and sexist treatment in a comic book shop, stereotypes be damned. After he finished with the other customer, he finally turned to me and said "Need something?" to which I asked (rather curtly I'll admit) if they had the new X-Men. He shrugged and said "Nope, that's not in yet, I don't think," and turned around to use his phone once again. I will never ever go back to this place. If you're someone in need of good customer service, head on over to Tate's or anywhere else really; this place SUCKS. read more

While I was looking over what new comic books I was interested in picking up at PAST PRESENT & FUTURE COMICS South, I was told by Xavier that you can't read books to see if you are interested in them to pick them up. This was surprising, since another customer was in the store doing the same EXACT thing and nothing was said to him. WOW! What kind of comic store doesn't allow you to look at a NEW comics before you want to purchase? Nice way to treat your "customers". Thank god TATE'S Comics + Toys + Videos + More treats customers so much better. I will make sure to inform everyone in South Florida to get their comics from TATE'S COMICS. read more

Yes its a big store, and neet merchandise, but customer service is shit. Over heard one of sales reps calling someone on the phone a Mother F****er just because the person didn't understand he was out of whatever issue he was looking for. Pfft real nice way to speak to some one willing to spend money in your location. And greeting your customers with a welcoming smile would be nice. I was also yelled at for flipping through a comic book. I wasn't even reading. Maybe they should just bag and bored every comic so no one does this then. Total overload of Japanese merch if you are interested in all that kind of stuff. The staff is friendly and helpful enough. I just do not like the fact that it looks more like a warehouse instead of an actual store that sells really cool stuff. It has a very library feel in the fact that everything is in precise order on pristine shelves- and there are shelves after shelves after shelves of comics. It's great that there is a wide selection, but the presentation is greatly lacking. It seems like it is very business- buy your comic and get out instead of being a place where you can browse and have a good time. read more

Came here a handful of times and each visit it seemed like the store was under new management. It's a local comic shop so I wanted to support it but the last time I was there, looking for a birthday gift for a friend, the employees pretty much scared me off. One employee was yelling obscenities into his Bluetooth so the whole store was a witness to his ire. Then a prospective customer made a series of inquiries before being dismissively addressed by the Bluetooth guy. At that point, I decided not to return. I'd rather make a weekly pilgrimage to Tate's where they at least know how to care for customers. read more

With doing a subscription, you get a discount and FREE bags and boards for your pulled comics. I highly recommend this service and the free bags/boards are a nice touch! The prices are too high and there better places to buy comics around the area. The place is pretty big and has a decent selection but overall leaves a lot to be desired. I've been shopping at this company's stores for 25 years. They have always been the standard by which I measure other stores and they always exceed what others offer. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgable and always interested in talking to customers and helping them find not only what they wanted, but also what they didn't even know they needed. PPF strives to make every person feel welcome from the new reader (or player) to the long term fan. From the die hard geek to the person just entering the wonderful world of gaming and comics. PPF provides a great environment for all ages, genders, sexual orientation, and races. The shop is very well lit and organized. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful in getting everything you need. The back issues are extensive and what they do not have at this store they can pull from two others. Stuff is normally in within 2 days. I also love the fact that you can enter this place without needing a level 5 hazmat suit. The staff actually tells people to wash up if the gamer funk is too much. Entering some other places you actually walk into a wall of body odor that can make Oscar the Grouch puke. At PPF you can browse and game without falling pray to the odors of the unclean. Lastly this is one of the few comic establishments that my very pretty 15 year old daughter can walk into without feeling like a piece of meat thrown to a pack of hungry horny wolves. No way! Got to Tate's Comics. Tate's treats a customer with respect and is clean and friendly. Florida Comics is a dirty concrete floored warehouse where they do not want you to touch the comics. If you put a comic in the wrong place after viewing, be prepared to have Mike (the owner) scream at you and bully you around. They sell expensive rare variant comics at inflated prices that are taped shut because they do not want you to see the damage on the back of the comics. Tate's is the place to go for everything comics and more. read more

The shop is clean and organized with a great selection of monthly comics and back issues. You can find an array of TPB and graphic novels on the shelves at reasonable prices. They have sales and deals as well. The most impressive part is how knowledgable the staff was about every thing. Friendly, helpful with true love for comics, you'll find what your looking for or be directed in the right path of comic book lore. You can always buy any TPB on line, but many available at this store are at the same price, (or at most) a few dollars more (with exception of pricy special addition books) so I would say for the trip and time spent there, purchase a book and keep these great shops going for us comic lovers. read more

A tad mixed opinion about this one, but generally favorable. The building was too big for the selection they had. In other words, poor selection for the size of the store. I was looking for Star Wars and Star Trek memorabilia and they had an okay-ish selection of the first, and almost nothing for the latter. Mostly focused on comics and cards, not toys and novelties. Pricing is comparable to the competition. They do have regular tournaments for board games and rpgs, it seems, based on the tables and signs I saw. Overall OK. read more

Absolutely love this place! My fiancé and I recently started collecting Funko Pop figures and this is my favorite place to get them at. For only $12 I get diamonds. I've ben looking everywhere for the Disney Ariel, and guess what? They had it! Ugh. Happiness. Anyways, they also have some cool comics, and awesome nerdy things like that. From Sailor Moon to Doctor Who. (I'm a large fan of both) Also, the guys working and always so sweet and helpful. Love them. read more

I used to live in west palm beach and go to the Past Present Future there and absolutely loved it! So when I moved to Davie and I found out they were opening one near by I was so excited. It is just as great as the one in west palm! So much selection, EXTREMELY nice employees, and a great location. Whenever I go I feel so welcomed and relaxed. People will hang there for a bit but because there are things you can do! Would be fun to take kids, and people who love nerdy things. I would recommend this place to EVERYONE. I think people who don't like this place already have their favorite store they have been going to for years so of course they won't like a new place. read more
