    Alfredo

First time trying Pasta Bella in Marshall , MI ! The ambiance gives Italian / Cuban but pretty cool ! Not a huge space , the hostess was very nice and accommodating. We tried the fried mozzarella for an appetizer. You can tell they were homemade, I'm not a big fan of fried mozzarella but I give it a 7/10 . I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich as my meal and it didn't disappoint 8.5/10 ! My friend got the Alfredo but added bacon , which really helped because sometimes too much Parmesan makes the pasta taste a little chalky but the bacon kind of offset that . I would give it a 8/10 ! Overall I would recommend this place if you're in the area !

We wanted to try something different for NYE, and decided on this place. The Tuscan ravioli was amazing, and the breadsticks melt in your mouth. So good.

Got there 30 minutes after opening and there was a 45 minute wait. So today we were in the area and thought we would try again. To our disbelief we were sat at a table immediatly. Lucky us, I thought. We first ordered beverages. When the waitress returned, we ordered an appetiser of Arancini to start off and also our main dinners which included soup or salad. We both love arancini and haven't had any since we moved from Florida last October. I will admit we are used to having Sicilian style which usually is filled with rice, saffron, meat and vegetables, like peas. To our surprise the salads came out first. We both ordered a ceaser salad which was over whelmed with parmesan cheese and very little lettuce. The Arancini arrived and there was five perfectly round what tasted like cheese balls. Some white rice with lots of cheese filling laying in a bowl of marinara sauce. We each had one ball. My entree of chicken Marsala arrived with a side of Fettuccine Alfredo. Basically it tasted like chicken with mushroom gravy. Very unappealing. The Alfredo sauce was flat, no flavor. My wife's Penne with Pesto lacked pesto. Tasted good but could of used more Pesto. I just have to say that this was the most lackluster Italian dinner I honestly have ever had. I really just don't understand the high reviews. I guess it wasn't our lucky day.

The house salad was generous with the feta cheese and croutons, and the balsamic dressing was nice and tart. My wife had the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. The pasta tasted almost homemade and the Alfredo sauce tasted like a real house made Alfredo, not something from a jar. I had the Chicken Parmigiana and asked if I could have vodka sauce on the spaghetti, just because it's one of my favorite sauces. They were happy to oblige, and it was truly delicious. Our daughter was happy with her penne noodles with butter and cheese... Lol. Hopefully at some point, she orders more than that! We will definitely be back next time we are in Kalamazoo.

I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, which was extraordinarily delicious, as well as the garlic cheese bread which was buttery and garlicky, with just the right amount of mozzarella. There was plenty to share. I also enjoyed my first ever Aperol Spritz, and it won't be my last! For a Tuesday, the dining room was surprisingly quite full. Regardless, our server Erin was on top of everything. I can't wait to return!

The menu is limited and apparently changes regularly with limited options. However everyone in our party seemed to really enjoy their meals. Personally I didn't care for not having a menu to look at and that I was expected to know what was available based upon their Instagram site. Not a social media guy so asked waitress to bring a menu, which she did. Small price to pay depending upon the individual. I had the spicy Italian sausage tortellini's in a very good tomatoey vodka sauce. From my POV that was the best dish at the table. Unfortunately I ate it all after telling myself I was bringing some home for lunch the next day. We will be back!

Jasmine is our go-to bartender, makes great drinks and generally makes every visit a pleasure. The menu is small, and seasonal, but everything has a ton of thought put into it and I would promise you won't be disappointed. Last time we were there we had the salmon and the salad... all of it was fall themed so I sure it's changed now, but go give it a try! They are under the same ownership as Bold and Holy Taco so you can imagine the vibe... I'd say slightly higher end than holy taco and compared to bold definitely more laid back but still nice.

We all decided on pizza and ordered two pizzas. One for the adults and a smaller one for the kids. While we were waiting the room air filled up with the aroma of a seafood restaurant restaurant. It turns out they were serving crab legs and other fresh seafood entrees. That is when we were told they serve cook from scratch meals and daily specials. Our pizzas came out and both pizzas were loaded with generous toppings. Even the kids small pepperoni pizza looked generous and cooked perfectly. Very friendly service, clean, and affordable. The pizza took a little longer than expected, but they do let you know upfront that there may be a wait, which I appreciated. The flavor was good overall, and the ingredients seemed fresh. For my taste, there was a little too much sauce, which made the pizza a bit heavy. That said, it was still decent and worth trying if you're in the area and craving pizza. Not bad, but not a standout for me either.
