Won a giveaway to try their new family meal. $60 is a great deal for 1 salad, pastas, and 1 pizza. However, I wish we could choose from their whole menu selection instead of the more plainer dishes offered. I really wanted to try their pesto. The owner lady was really nice and really welcoming . She was really happy we were there. However, the service was all over the place. The pastas came before the salad and sharing utensils and grated cheese/pepper were not given to us until we ate half the pastas already. When we finished, the server really pushed for us to have drinks and dessert. When we declined, she said "well, I guess that's it." I gave a tip anyway and I hope it was shared with everyone. The complimentary bread and garlic oil was ok. The garlic oil was fantastic (hard to scoop the garlic pieces) but the bread would really benefit if it was warm. House green salad was really fresh. The dressing was on the sweeter side. The chicken penne with sundried tomato cream sauce was tasty. It was good but I didn't taste much of the sundried tomatoes. There were plenty pieces of chicken! Loved the freshly made penne - texture was awesone. Italian sausage mafalde was not mafalde but linguine. This one lacked any flavor. The pizza was super thin and the dough was really good. I wish the layer of cheese was thicker. All in all dishes were hit or miss and the service was a little confusing. On one hand, this place seems more fancy with the brick oven pizzas and the nice decor. On the other hand, the service was much like casual family style restaurants like Dennys.

I went to Pasta Polo for a late dinner a while back. When I got there, I was given a table right away. The establishment was mildly dark yet clean and organized, which I really like in a restaurant. I ordered the Osso Bucco with the Virgin Purple Sours. I was served complimentary fresh rolls with fermented garlic oil. The virgin cocktail was fantastic, even without the alcohol. They tasted nice, especially with the fermented garlic being exuberant in flavour. The Bucco entrée came with a side of pesto pasta mafalda that I found very piquant. The meat was pretty succulent and tasted good overall with the sauce being so tasty that I found myself licking off the plate. The service was top-notch, as I saw my waiter tending to my table had any given moment he had. I highly recommend anyone who is in Coquitlam to pay their patronage to this Pasta Polo location. They will enjoy themselves there.

Funny story, we were heading for another pasta restaurant, we made a wrong turn, saw Pasta Polo and assumed we were at the right place. We realized as we pulled up and thought, whatever, let's try it... We had an amazing date night, The staff was amazing, The food tasted delicious and the drinks were on point. The atmosphere was warm with classic Italian music in the background. They even had in house made Garlic Oil! Fantastic! Overall , we are happy with our mistake and our definitely planning to come back! My wife's only complaint was that her portion was too big! Now we have leftovers! I would absolutely recommend Pasto Polo!!

Despite living in Coquitlam for 12 years and driving past this restaurant weekly, this is only the second time I've ever been. And the first time was unremarkable. We called at 6:00 p.m. to make a 6:30 p.m. reservation but were told that we couldn't make a reservation for less than an hour away. We were then told on the phone that it was pretty busy and would likely have to wait 25-30 minutes once we arrived which felt weird that they wouldn't just give us a reso, but I guess a policy is a policy. When we arrived the hostess then asked if we had a reservation which just added an extra layer of that whole situation feeling off, but whatever. The restaurant had a bustling ambiance, and the hostess assured us it would be just a few minutes for our booth. The booth was cleaned and turned over quickly. As we waited, the table leaving was raving about how good the food and service was so we had high expectations. The service was top shelf, especially given how busy the restaurant was. I had the prawn and scallop rose and my partner had the baked veal parmigiana with linguine. The server recommended the Mafalda pasta with mine as it was excellent at soaking up the sauce and he was not wrong. "Fresh" bread was brought out quickly, however it was definitely not fresh. Warm, but with stale crusts. The butter was those little individual plastic dishes and straight out of the fridge so nearly impossible to spread, even on stale bread. What saved the bread was the amazing garlic oil. Like seriously if they sold it I would buy it by the gallon. My pasta was the scallop and shrimp rose. All the pasta is homemade in house and it was ridiculously good. Fresh parm and pepper was quickly provided by the attentive staff. My dish was cooked to perfection, mushrooms were so flavourful and just so tasty. This pasta dish was enormous, I kept eating but barely made a dent and took easily half of it home. For the veal, the pasta portion was just as good as the other dish. Creamy Alfredo was buttery and delicious. The veal was also cooked to perfection. Beautiful breading that was perfectly thin and crispy with the perfect amount of sauce and cheese on top. Prices were very reasonable and they had an excellently priced three course menu to choose from as well. Seems weird to note, but the napkins were really great quality for disposable napkins, but it was noticeable to both of us! So close to a solid five star review. Excited to go back and try more!

My partner and I ate here for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was not very busy and service was prompt and fantastic. We ordered Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo, caesar salad with calamari, and a shirley temple. The bill was $38 before tip and with a $10 off coupon. The Fettucini was good but Jimoco's pasta is better. You could taste the deep fry oil in the calamari a little more than I personally like. The extra extra large pepper shaker and fresh grated cheese was a nice touch. Overall, it was good to try this place out but there are other Italian places that are better in the tri-cities area.

Date night at Pasta Polo was great! Our sever was super friendly. Growing up in the area, the last time I had dinner here was probably a good 15 years ago. I'm glad to have went back tonight. We enjoyed everything we ordered (except the mozzarella sticks came out really fast and were a bit cold - could not get a cheese pull!) Carbonara mushroom gnocchi, fusilli meatballs in rose paired with a Syrah from France time for some leftovers!

Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 4.5/5 Food: 3/5 Overall: 3/5 A very a-okay place! We came here for my boyfriend's birthday dinner with his family since it's been a tradition since he was young, and it was my first time trying it. There was 8 of us so we had made a reservation for a weeknight and were seated right when we got there. The best part of this place was the service! Our waitress was extremely kind and patient - I know it's not always easy serving big groups but she did an amazing job! As for the food and ambiance, this is where the place flops. I split the margherita pizza and the herb & cheese tortellini and had a bite of the cheese gnocchi as well. For both the pastas, the sauces weren't my favourite - they almost tasted more like a cream soup to me than a pasta sauce which I wasn't a big fan of. The pizza was probably the best part of my meal, although I wouldn't say that it's anywhere near a traditional margherita in any way. Overall, this place is good for a family dinner if you're in the tri-cities, but nothing phenomenal to want to come back to.

While. Uniting friends in Port Moody I had the opportunity to dine at Pasta Polo. I was pleasantly surprised with the food and service. It is a casual rEstaurant but with the warmth of a family own business. I was very happy they were able to accommodate my vegan lifestyle. Our server was great. (I feel bad I can't remember her name). We ordered appetizers, calamari for my friends that don't have my dairy and animal restrictions on their diet. The server suggested the brocheta without Parmesan cheese and the pesto pasta for me. My dinner was delicious and was even more pleasant in company of a delightful Bordeaux wine. I gave it 4 stars only because I don't care for booth style restaurants and the woman's bathroom has a cob web in the bathroom stool. (But for the record the bathroom was very clean).

We came here for a later friday lunch with a party of five. Four of us ordered from the lunch special menu (11-3), the fifth ordered his favourite tortellini dish from the regular menu. We all chose water to drink, two chicken Parmesans, the tortellini and two shrimp sandwiches without tomato with minestrone soup. Everyone cleared their plates (including myself) and remarked how good the food was. My chicken Parmesan was incredibly moist and fresh tasting (although not as cheesy as the cheese monster in me would prefer). This is the first time I've ever had this Italian dish. We were asked if we wanted dessert and while determining, were given a free six portion of desserts (3 brownie, 3 almond cake with a hint of lemon and vanilla). Guess we wouldn't order further dessert.... A wonderful meal of "all made in house" ingredients. Fantastic

To say that my experience was good is a gross understatement. The food was outstanding, worthy of the finest restaurants and easily twice the price. When pasta in a restaurant beats my homemade then I sit up and take notice. The service was beyond any doubt the absolute best I have ever had in any restaurant ever. Our service was polite, fast and friendly. Our bill was shockingly low for the quality of food we received.

First time here and had their 3-course dinner. Our overall experienced was good. The margarita tastes like more of a lime juice. The caesar salad is bit watery not sure if from the sauce or from the leaves. The pasta noodles was fresh and very good but it's too saucy and bit watery as well. The Chicken Parmigiana was tasty and good same thing with the New York style cheesecake. Prices are reasonable.

However, we really enjoy the food and coziness of the room so we have continued to make Henry's one of our regular dining experiences. We were going to make reservations for later this month when I noticed a line on their website saying that a 20% gratuity had been added to the bill. I thought that maybe it was a line that had been added on because of New Year's Eve or at that the prices on the menu now reflected the 20% gratuity and no further tipping would be required. My husband sent an email to Henry's asking them to clarify what the policy was. We received a response from Jasmine "20% will be add on. It does not refer only to groups but also to each individual consumer". Sadly, we will not be going to Henry's anymore. The food is very good but the prices are already very high. We were at a Seasons in the Park last night. Their prices are less than Henry's. The setting is nicer, service was outstanding and food is very bit as good as Henry's.

We walked into the restaurant without any customers. A server seated us right away. Her service was great knowing that it was our first time to eat here and letting us know what was special and what we should try. We ordered mussels with white wine, tomatoes and herbs as appetizers and our main dishes were Penne Alfredo and Linguine Pescatora. Penne Alfredo was just a simple dish of penne with white creamy sauce and Parmesan cheese, but OMG! It was extraordinarily delicious! Chef Henry could cook this simple dish so well that I could 100% guarantee it is hard to find such a good simple dish in Greater Vancouver. Linguine Pescatora was full of seafood (shrimps, mussels, clams, scallops, and calamari) in a light spicy tomato sauce. The seafood was fresh (not frozen ones) and the texture of linguine was firm and chewy. Everything was irresistible. We would love to visit this restaurant and try other dishes in the near future. It was worth a trip to come all the way to Port Moody and eat the pasta here. (This pasta restaurant was originally located in Vancouver West.).

We were given a few small pieces of bread with some thinly sliced meat, a tomato spread and a few pieces of Parmigianno Reggiano cheese. Hmmm...that was kind of different. Usually it's just bread with Olive oil & balsamic vinegar, or bread with some kind of spread. Adding the thinly sliced meat and the few pieces of cheese was a nice touch. I especially enjoyed the cheese! For our entrees my friend ordered Linguine e salmone, and I ordered Bucatini all Bomba. The Linguine e salmone came with a fairly large and thick piece of salmon. I was impressed with how generous the portion of salmon was for this dish. My dish was tasty but kinda paled in comparison next to the huge slab of salmon on my friend's plate. No fault of the restaurant as I had opted not to add any protein to my dish. I have a feeling if I'd added protein then there's a good chance I'd have ended up with a similar sized piece on my plate as well. Salmon for example would have cost an extra $14 to add to my dish. For that sum, I have a feeling it would be a pretty generous slab of salmon they'd be adding. I did very much enjoy the flavors of my dish. The portion of pasta looked a bit small upon first glance, but it was actually quite filling. I had just enough room after my pasta to order a Grappa Tiramisu for dessert, and as I don't come to Port Moody very often, I decided to splurge and order one. Mmmmm...sooo good. If you like Italian food, this place is quite a gem. I also love that they have a Vegetarian lasagna on their menu. We stumbled upon this place while waitlisted elsewhere nearby but Im glad that happened. The ambiance of Povera is old timey, warm, and intimate. The only time service fell short was when we asked for things like a straw for the drink or fresh ground pepper. Maybe staff were tired as it was the end of the night or maybe they were really busy. Regardless, we did have to ask a few times before they brought things over. Brownie points to our server though - We had a lovely server who was patient and let us take our time to review the menu. And he generously offered up the antipasto spreads and focaccia, which was delicious! The food was great. Highly recommend the focaccia. It was so good! Seasoned just right and had a great crunch. Listened to others' recommendations and got the salmon linguine. Now, it may sound simple on paper (lemon, rosemary, linguine, salmon) but it is done very well. The salmon was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The rosemary did a lot of heavylifting but wasn't overwhelming the dish. The lemon was a touch of acid to being brightness to the dish. Everything worked together. We also got the Bomba pasta with chicken. Also good, had a lot of flavours working together! The chicken also has a crisp exterior and tender interior. I'd definitely come back here for a date night or a more intimate chat with friends.

The carbonara was just okay and both dishes were only lukewarm rather than pipping hot. Service at the bar felt distracted, with the bartender drifting off mid-conversation, and the pizza maker was wearing a very worn T‑shirt styled like a chef coat, which added to a generally casual, neighborhood feel. Nice sorta open kitchen concept, where you see the Italian maestro at work. Looks like an Italian grandpa to be honest. My fav dish was the seafood one with fish and shrimps. It was loaded with generous pieces and finished perfectly with a touch of white wine and vodka sauce. The pesto one was also good. Not too overpowering, with a touch of crème fresh. The burrata was also so good. Freshly made and complimented by a nice drizzle of olive and balsamic. Another winner is the house bread which you can keep in asking for. Hot off the oven and comes with olive oil/balsamic dip. So hearty and good. Service was efficient, although our server seems to be wanting to rush us. Constantly hovering and asking and taking plates away. I get it's the holiday season, but there were so many tables available. I like the location as it's not that far from DT and parking is safe and plentiful. Ambiance is like an old mafia restuarant where Gino is in the back and the soprano is eating right at the table next to you. Yes, i would repeat and try the other entrees. Cheers! Happy eating!
