Dark beams, creaky floors, mounted longhorns, and a massive old Brunswick backbar that probably has more stories than half the regulars. Walking in feels like stepping onto a movie set, except the beer is cold and the people are real. The menu is refreshingly short: burgers, a couple sandwiches, green-chile stew, and usually a burrito or enchilada plate. Nothing fancy, but everything is made in-house and tastes like it. We were bummed they were 86'd on the beef burrito the day we went but the cheeseburger more than made up for it. Hand-formed patty, properly griddled with crisp edges, good cheddar, fresh toppings, and a toasted bun that held together. Fries were hot and salty. Service is friendly in that small-town "you're not a stranger for long" way. Prices are fair, the patio dogs are welcome, and there's live music on weekends that somehow never drowns out conversation. Bottom line: if you're anywhere near Patagonia, make the detour. Grab a stool at the ancient bar, order whatever they still have left, and soak in one of the most authentic saloons southern Arizona has left.

We were early. Steve and his wife arrived around 5pm to set up. He began his set at 5:30pm. It wasn't until 6:30pm that the crowd came in, mostly young couples with children and a few dogs. Steve has nice voice suited for love songs. He performed mostly classic rock songs from the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, the Eagles. But like my friend noted, his voice add some melancholgy to every melody. The beers this time were a nice variety. I had a Hefeweizen and then a Milk Stout. Both were very good.

Queen of Cups is my favorite place for small bites and wine when I am in Patagonia. I miss the rotating menu they used to offer but now that they are in full swing with it being a winery, I love that they still have appetizers to pair with all the delicious wines they make. While they most definitely knew how to throwdown some delicious food, I can appreciate that their focus is on wine because I have been to almost ever winery between Sonoita and Elgin and while I have a few favorites, Queen of Cups if the only winery I have ever been to where every single wine they put out is nothing short of excellent (including white wines, and I used to be a red wine only gal). To say that Queen of Cups is one of the best wineries I have ever been to would be an understatement. I have so many good memories with friends and family over meals, wine beer & cocktails shared both at the bar and their adorable outdoor patio. They no longer serve beer/cocktails but those were nothing short of amazing while they lasted. Definitely stop by for a wine tasting, you will not be disappointed.
