Detailed Summary of My Experience: I contacted Jim initially just to get an estimate for finishing my basement, which was in a state that needed major work because the walls were made of cinderblock and the floors were complete concrete; it was a space that was probably best used for storage and I would not call it "comfortably livable." Jim arrived quickly for an estimate and helped me explore the possibilities of the space, even going so far as to note what would be difficult or expensive to pull off. Within days he provided an estimate for the job, which I found out during the process was a major ordeal involving many phases and individuals, so I'm impressed he was able to produce a price so quickly (and in the end it was an accurate price). I signed Jim up for the job because of his straightforward and pleasant attitude. In the weeks and months that followed (this was a major job, I want to note), Jim gave me frequent updates about what workers I could expect to come by and when/how-long they would be there. Every person who came onto the property was skilled and good about communicating what they would be working on, especially when they had questions about the possibilities of the space. Jim also handled all of the work involving the permits and he worked with the county to ensure everything was up to code. He also alerted me any time there was a change in plans or if there was a possibility of delay. Given how involved this basement-finish job was, there were plenty of opportunities for major hurdles, but the project was still completed in a timely manner, and it was always clear to me what was going on, what would happen next, etc. The final product is everything I could've wanted. Jim made efficient use of the space to make as much of it "comfortably livable" as possible. Even the water heater and HVAC unit were relocated with no diminishment in functionality just for the sake of making the basement as good as it could possibly be. I'm very pleased with the additional space my family has been given, and there isn't a single rough edge in the room. I also wanted the wood trim around the garage door, first and second floor windows, a large colonial window above the entrance, the front door and windows, and all facia boards repainted. I received four estimates, but only three did site visits. Three of the estimates were over $4,000. My house was built in 1993. I've had the front soft washed and repainted three times since then. Each time the price was a little higher, but no where close to $4,000. Liberty Painting's price was very reasonable and no where near $4,000. We scheduled the work for the following week. Two painters arrived on time. We discussed the scope of work, which included soft washing the wood. They were both very friendly and did excellent work. They cleaned up the work area as promised. Even though they needed to cut two giant holes in the living room ceiling, not a speck of dust was to be seen after. They then ran a line to the nearest outlet in the ceiling while providing careful consideration to the aesthetic appeal of the light placement. The joist didn't go the direction we needed it to, but the team got creative and made it work while looking even nicer than we had originally planned.
