I love stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things- and this does include simple things like groceries! I love to cook, and love different grocery stores! We have a huge Indian population in my area and this grocery store is a wonderful spot for someone like me to explore a little different food culture! The produce alone is a wonder! Hubby and I pop into this store at least once a month to try different things. Tea, spices, produce, noodles and so much more. We are terrible and always grab a bunch of the little snack pack cookies too! The cashiers are always friendly and tend to ask if we enjoy the foods~ it's always a pleasure to shop here!

    Lots of well priced spices

Patel Brothers is a huge Indian grocery store. They are located on Ild Baymeadows in he same shopping center as Flavors, Koroush Market and Pattaya. The store is a great size and they carry pretty much anything you could want. Their selection of rice is staggering. They also have a large amount of fresh fruits and veggies. They have quite a few varieties of paneer and so many cold drinks. They also have a lot of jarred curries, pastes and chutneys. In addition that have massive amounts of spice mixtures for pretty much any fish you can imagine. The frozen section is along the whole back wall of the store. There are many types of breads, frozen entrees, fruits, veggies, desserts and ice cream. The store is clean and well organized. Just walking around it is very easy to fill up a basket and try some new tasty treats.

Stopped by out of boredom but I also needed some incense. Ended up sending like $75 on various types. Will surely go back as no one can beat their incense prices.

Jacksonville branch of a US chain store for Indian food and provisions. They have an ever expanding selection of organic products including rice, lentils and spices. This location has a large frozen section of veg and non-veg prepared items. Also a big selection of frozen breads (naan, chapati, paratha etc). The refrigerator section has a selection of sweets, paneer and yogurt. You can get large bags of rice, flours, lentils and beans. Pooja items are available.

Our new favorite…read more Coming from a larger international city with a huge selection of asian mega-grocery stores, we've been pretty disappointed by the options in this area. We've tried a couple of the local shops over the years and were mostly turned off. But recently, when we got a hankering for some homemade curries, marinades, stir fries, and such, we went on the hunt for something better and finally stumbled on Dinosaur. They aren't really "supermarket" huge, but far larger then the shops we've tried in the area. Plenty of shelf staples from a variety of cuisines, at decent prices. And a good selection of meats and produce that you won't find in the Winn-Dixies, Publixes, or Whole Foods in the area, and you can't simply order shipped from Amazon. As a "foody tourist" in a shop like this, I'm not entirely self sufficient. I can tell my galangal from my ginger, and my choy sum from my bok choy, but I still get lost trying to find or identify some things. The shopkeeper there keeps busy managing her store, and I don't expect her to play "tour guide," but she does try to be helpful and work past the language barrier when I come up with questions. The place is clean and pretty well organized considering the wide variety of foods and countries that are represented. A gold mine of exotic foods we can't find anywhere else.

They have a good selection of grocery items that should appeal to looking for treats from Europe. The staff here was friendly enough and the market itself had a no-frills type atmosphere, but it was pleasant enough wandering through the aisles. I was also happy to see they carried products from Schmalz's, a New Jersey based sausage maker. Schmalz's makes a wonderful German style hot dog. I really am impressed with not only this European grocer, but the multiple European grocers located in Jacksonville, Florida. They have a strong emphasis on products from eastern Europe and offer a great variety of items that you will not find at your local Winn-Dixie, Publix, Walmart or other supermarkets. Overall, I will give here five stars overall and it definitely has my recommendation.

Starting with a selection of food, it is such a wide variety accommodating various cultural food attributes. You can find anything from various types of cheeses to curry ketchup to sweets, to all sorts of jams and pastas, rices and accoutrement of other items that just is unbelievable! And if they don't have it, they might possibly be able to get it for you - just ask as they are open & accommodating. This leads into the prices without using competition names, their prices far beat those of the big chain box stores with a much better variety! Now onto the wife and husband. Most of our time was spent with the wife who is beyond knowledgeable of all of the different products in there. Either she herself has used them or she has customer feedback within a majority of it being her own personal experience. (I would love to try her homemade stuffed cabbage based upon how she described it). Any question we had she was able to talk about it in a way that we understood what she was saying and how we could incorporated into our cooking skills. She is a wealth of knowledge who does not mind talking to us because you could tell she values her customers. Even listening to her with other customers she takes the same level of care time and patience! Her husband also very knowledgeable and extremely friendly and customer centered. They also had a young man who was there who was extremely helpful. I can tell why their team is so happy because it starts at the top. This husband and wife duo truly take pride and what they're offering to their customers. They treat you like family and are beyond phenomenal.
