My $10 bag contained four items, all with be used for easy lunches. A tuna salad croissant sandwich, a chicken salad wrap, bbq ribs, and a chicken quesadilla. The tuna salad croissant was fresh and delicious. Since the pickup window is longer, you go to a register to ask for your bag. Prices are high....really high for my pockets. This is a very nice store, a cross between whole foods and Sprouts. I do like the microgreens they have. I was looking for the lions mane mushrooms, way too expensive. I love the microgreens they have, that was also something I was looking for, I love Ezekiel bread, too expensive there. Other than that, I looked around. I love they have tastings; I tasted a wine and some bark candy. Other than that customer service was good. My daughter bought me a beautiful strawberry chantilly cake here . Wow, it was fresh, had strawberries on top and inside. A white cake tasted fresh too but the icing is what made this cake so good. Worst store ever. Everything is overpriced and unless you want pumpkin pretzels or pumpkin candy or pumpkin nuts or pumpkin muffins or pumpkin soda there is very little selection on anything. Lines are long now and their employees are the least friendly. I tried to buy a pizza and one beer today, but apparently you can't sell one beer even though it comes in one. So with that you've lost my business. I am getting in my car to drive to Publix even though I live right behind your grocery store. Food, glorious food! During the holidays, I have to practice a considerable amount of restraint, especially in places like The Fresh Market. I can't go there for one particular thing, because as soon as I hit the door, the holiday goodies start calling out my name from all four corners of the store. I try and avoid the bakery, but it's pointless. My mission today was to pick up a particular brand of eggnog (Homestead Creamery) that comes in a glass bottle which was recommended by a foodie friend of mind. What I ended up with was not only the eggnog, but a shopping cart loaded with everything from potpourri to seasonal ice cream and hot chocolate. So much for restraint. BUT...it's the holidays, and I can use that excuse. I've never been a "grab and go from the hot bar" kind of person, but they do have a considerably large selection of prepared foods to choose from if I felt so inclined. Yes the prices are on the higher side, but 1. welcome to Riverside, and 2. they carry unique products and brands that you simply cant find at most other establishments. Their merchandising is also top-notch, their eye-catching seasonal displays are my favorite part of the experience, along with the aisle of endless candy dispensers. The wonderful lady at the floral counter helped me pick out my fragrant "Cottage Apple" potpourri and the perfect wicker basket to adorn the coffee table, so a big thank you to the pleasant staff! My only grievance is...along with many others who have come here....is the parking. I was there at 10am on a weekday, and the lot was completely full. I had to park at the adjacent lot across the way, which was an inconvenience, especially when leaving and pushing a shopping cart. Considering the amount of restaurants and other businesses in the area, I can't imagine what it would be like in the afternoons and evenings, so keep that in mind. Fresh Market may not have everything --cleaning supplies, cereal,--but what they make in house is very good and reasonably priced. Their baked goods and meat departments stand out. I love their sausages. If you are a member, you receive special prices sent by email: each day of the week they highlight certain items: Saturday and Sunday their fish department offers good specials, etc. One thing I really like is that they are not the enormous mega stores, the size makes them great for quick shopping. read more

I'm not sure why it took me so long to shop at The Fresh Market, but my first experience shopping there this week was great. Firstly, the store is laid out very well and it is not overwhelming. Everything I purchased was fresh and the rotisserie chicken was incredible! My husband's birthday was that day and I got several slices of various cakes; chocolate, lemon and carrot cake and each was delicious. I am usually at this location too many times a week lol . I try to limit my stops here since its a little bit pricey but everything you get here is so worth your money. I always get the macadamia cookies and chocolate chips at least once a week since that is my boyfriends favorite snack. I usually get seafoods here, the salmon and the crab cakes are really good! They usually have special like 2 crab cakes for $10! They also have the pre made meals which I got the chicken marsala for $14.99 and that price is not too bad! I am excited to try it! I also got the frozen broccoli and frozen corn so we are good for the week! I am not a big fan of this location even though its less than 5 minute car drive from our house since the parking here sucks!!!!! One time we went here and left right away because people here that looking for parking can be rude! So just a tip! If you are planning to go here go here either early morning right just when they open or late afternoon on a Sunday. I really enjoy shopping at The Fresh Market. I've shopped there for many years when I lived in Savannah, so when I moved to Jacksonville I was delighted to find that there are a few locations here. I have only been to the Riverside location in Jacksonville. This area is in a very nice location with other businesses near the store. Also, it very close to YMCA. It's nice to workout then do a little grocery shopping. I enjoy finding unique items at Fresh Market. I would probably not consider this my first choice for everyday shopping, but it is nice for a few specialty items that I probably can't find at my local grocery. Stopped in today for a cup of 99 cent coffee and left with my coffee, water and some $5 sushi. I checked the case today and saw they had $5 sushi on Thursday's. While they had a limited selection (I only saw 3 types of $5 dollar rolls), I was able to get a sushi sampler and a spicy shrimp. The sampler appeared to be tuna with avocado and vegetables and the spicy shrimp was shrimp with some sort mix. Both were good and each came with 10 pieces of sushi, wasabi, ginger and soy sauce. The added bonus was the chop sticks which tend to be a little bit better grade than most carry out or sushi places and the sushi chef who was still there rolling rolls at 3pm thanked me for stopping by which was nice. The Fresh Market in the Brooklyn/Riverside area across from the Winston Y is a great place to shop for pre made meals, specialty items and ingredients as well as flowers and gifts for special occasions. The environment is clean and has a great floor plan and flow. I don't shop at Fresh Market for day to day items because their prices are anywhere from 30 cents to 2 dollars over neighborhood grocery store prices. However, when I'm in the mood for soup, sushi, deli items, a special dessert, spices, or wine, this is the destination of choice. What's not to love about The Fresh Market? This place is fantastic. And if I didn't have a limited bank account, I would be here every single day. The prices are just a little more than your local supermarkets on average, but then again we don't go here everyday and the selection and quality of the products here can't be found in those other stores. The merchandising of the entire store is absolutely gorgeous and total eye candy. The staff is very helpful and pleasant. They have a promotional ground beef special every Tuesday ($2.99/lb) along with other in-store promotions. And are competitively prices with other stores in their caliber. Overall, every Fresh Market I've been in (including this one) has been very well organized, offers an amazing assortment of wonderful cheese and baked goodies, fresh fruit and veggies, awesome cuts of meats, fresh seafood, an assortment of specialty brands and just about anything you would want in your kitchen pantry or to serve to your guests. When I first moved here from the northeast a few years ago, I realized how few "foodie" markets exist here. So I bought I was happy to find this one, but I'm done. They suffer from an apathetic staff and severely over priced, bland food. We have tried food from their deli to take home for dinner many times with the same result--bland, unseasoned, tasteless. Salads are mostly marinated ,as opposed to greens) and are laden with oil. Oil weighs them down so they can charge more money. Most recently I had an orzo pasta salad that was swimming in oil. Heavy & tasteless. We bought flank steak...looked great in the to-go case. My shoe leather would have been more tender. When you order, the person behind the counter mumbles "whaddaya want?". Not exactly what I would allow in my shop. It'd be "good afternoon! How are you? What can I do for you today?" Training & management are missing. The market itself is precious and over priced. Jacksonville needs something better. I miss Lucky's. It too was on the high side but the quality was there. It's a shame. read more

This is a great grocery store. Now because it's not quite as large as the Walmart supercenter, you know you're not gonna find every single little thing that you want and because it is the fresh market and not the Walmart you know you're going to pay a little more. When looking for a grocery store you have to tailor your expectations to what is really important. Or me it's important that the store is clean, and this one is very clean. It's important that they have a large selection of organic food which this one definitely does. It's important that they have a good selection of produce and meats and this one does. They have an olive bar which is great, a hot food bar which is also nice, a salad bar which is nice and useful, and they always have something that you're not looking for but you just can't help buying. Sometimes the food on the hot bar will get a little bit dried out towards the end of the day because I think they're catering that to the lunch crowd. You can always call them and ask them if they're carrying something that you're looking for and they're happy to go look for you. This is located in the newly renovated and now kind of upscale part of Jacksonville which is Riverside, and Riverside has sure come along way in the last 20 years. The little closet where the store is located has a cool burger joint and it's a fun little area right near the river. Oh I forgot to mention, they also carry some good selection of beer and wine. If you're in the market for more upscale grocery shopping in a riffraff free environment, this is the place for you. read more

First time here and I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to see the layout, it was very much like the high-end grocers I used to frequent in Washington DC back in the 1980s. The place is very clean and well stocked. The many people working here appear to be pleasant. There is an incredible amount of variety in the produce section and the prices were not too bad. I absolutely love this Fresh Market location. I am writing this review based off of the prepared/ready-to-go food. Compared to other locations, I found this location extremely stocked and amply supplies for midday work rush. The sushi section here is extremely fresh . They have the sushi chefs right in front of the counter that will take requests if your desired sushi is not there. Last Friday, I bought the Dragon Roll. Sliced avocado incapsulated the entire roll which made it so fresh and delicious! I also ordered the kale cessar salad and this was extremely filling. I noticed they also have a fresh salad bar and this location , which I will definitely be utilizing in the future. With outside seating, I had a great lunch experience here. This the only decent grocery store on this side of town and it is soo poorly managed! The produce is old and often missing. No yellow onions, only bags and bags of sweet onions?? Greens are wilted and fresh fruit variety limited. Employees always seem like this is their first day, dairy is frequently expired, shelves are often bare and check out staff ( the only employees who seem to care and are very competent) are apologetic for all the problems. Not sure where management is, they never seem around. Parking is a pain and limited but when you finally do get in it's a disappointment . I have been to other Fresh Markets that are well run and there's an enormous difference. I really want to be able to shop here, there's a huge local market for good groceries in the area but this place is a real letdown. read more

I decided to take a stop in since I'd heard so many great things about the salad bar plus I wanted to look around and see what the store had to offer. Walking in you are greeted by a colorful display of fruits and vegetables and the salad bar isn't too far behind. The prices seem decent and while they have variety of choices to choose from I was a little disappointed to walk over to the salad bar and see that there weren't many options there. I was expecting a little more of the fixings than what I actually seen. Walking around a bit more they have a few different deli like areas where you can get things fresh and some even ready made. I do plan on making another visit and shopping around as I seen a few items that I haven't seen anywhere else. read more

Ugh!!!!! What happened to the $2.99 Tuesday's Fresh Market?!!!!!! I have shopped there for years buying 15 pounds of chicken and 15 pounds of ground beef, plus some steaks each week for my carnivore boys!!!!!! I went last night and there was none!! Tears!! Then there are no more dark chocolate sea salt almonds on the candy bar!!!! I almost fainted!! I still love your coffee and premade bar, baby gummy bears, muffins and pumpkin bread and those so lovely pillow cookies!! I enjoy the shopping experience (clean and organized), but I do not enjoy the amount of money I pay. If you need a quick item or you're trying to find that hard to find item, The Fresh Market it here for you. The staff is VERY nice and accommodating with any questions I have, and they sometimes have sales that make it worth it to come here. I've bought a few items from the bakery (out of pure laziness), and it's really nothing too special. You're better off finding your favorite bakery and getting the item(s) there.
