Glad Jax is offering more larger international grocery stores but this one and another one are both on Beach Blvd. There needs to be one on the north side too. I've started cooking more of my culture's cuisine so it's nice to have more options in the Jax area. I love that they offer a food court right inside and every month they host an Asian Night Market outside in their parking lot. A few things they could improve on; offering a wider selection of their fresh/live seafood such as wild caught fish and shrimp. And lastly, the meat section could look fresher (not old dingy meat.) read more

This place used to smell like a dirty aquarium, which is not uncommon for Asian supermarkets that have live seafood, but thank goodness Lotte opened up and forced them to clean up. That's the power of competition I guess. They also finally implemented a loyalty program, also probably because of Lotte. I've been coming here since they opened and I really want to support them and see them be successful. At least they're trying to improve. The selection of items and produce and meats here are good. Their food court is also good and I often come here just for the food court. The owner, or a lady I assume to be the owner, is always mean-faced and not friendly. The workers there (except for one girl who's always nice) aren't friendly either. I don't understand this since it doesn't cost anything to be nice and it makes people feel welcome at your store. What a hidden gem! I had no idea until this week that a strip mall on beach blvd held not only an incredible asian supermarket but also 8 or more mini asian restaurants inside (food court style) I chose the Lao Thai restaurant and was I impressed! I ordered the thai tea which was delicious, as well as the panang tofu special with rice ($10). Everyone was very friendly and the order came out pretty fast, on beautiful real dishes. The panang was absolutely perfect- a spicy kick but incredible flavor. I'm ready to go back for more, and to try some of the others (asian bakery, boba, korean, and more)! read more

We had not been to this market (but one has opened on Old St Aug Rd but is not near as finished as this one). They have lots of unusual, ethnic food/products choices- fresh, dried, frozen, "still moving" items for you to choose from! To the side then they have little eateries with tables and chairs so one could definitely get a taste of "home" or wanted to try something different. Outside tonight was one of their street market festivals (they have there regularly and they move around to other locations) with lots of small food vendors, few product vendors, bouncy house, TMobile (probably main sponsor), live music, tented table/chairs in center for people to eat at. There were lots of people too-anyone doesn't think we are a "melting pot" needs to get out! We ate shrimp tempura, pork and beef skewers and glass noodles all which were good! We then topped it off with ice cream cone! It was really hot on the parking lot where they set up on this evening, then add a few sprinkles of rain and I was cooked! I'd think early spring/fall would be perfect to go again. read more

I visited RD International Market for the first time last weekend. It's not far from my house which was convenient. I went early Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too crowded. First I had lunch in the food court. You know what they say, don't go grocery shopping on an empty stomach! I went up and down every isle. I mostly bought international snacks, like chips, choco pies and croissants. Other purchases included Thai tea bags, jackfruit and a black pepper sauce. I love Thai tea and wanted to be able to stay home and make it instead of going to a restaurant. And bonus, it will save me money too! I also purchased some green peppermint tea and snacks to take to a friend. They were setting up for the second Saturday night market in the parking lot which includes authentic food from the Philippines, Thailand, Korea, Cambodia, and Vietnam. There is so much to love about this Asian market and I have been really wanting to go, so I made the trip with my mom and sister... As you can see from my pics, I think it was definitely worth the trip especially if you need the ingredients for your classic Filipino feast. We were able to find and buy everything on our list like the meats, specialty vegetables and key ingredients from trusted brands at reasonable prices for my mom's 78th birthday party. I appreciated their food court with a plethora of individual restaurants and offerings and plenty of seating for customers. My sister went with Korean kimchi noodles and I got a delicious banh mi and fresh durian sugar cane drink a few stalls down from Mia & More. Everyone should try their fresh pressed sugar cane drinks. There's so many flavors from which to choose and a nice Vietnamese menu. Overall, I was seriously impressed! The store was so clean and organized. They have a huge seafood department which, unfortunately, I didn't get to visit (next time). The selection of products was amazing. Customer service was outstanding and those viral Milk Rice Crackers were available and really tasty. Recommend. As we were checking-out, my mom got a free live lobster with her purchase (spent $250+) and I left extremely happy with a whole fresh Vietnamese durian, some popular snacks I've been wanting to try, and a small ready-to-eat tray of fresh jackfruit to share and enjoy. read more

The Banh Mi had very good flavor. It was savory with a hint of sweetness that brought everything together. The fried rice was very authentic and full of flavor, the fried pork had a nice crunch and a nice garlicky flavor. The Sugar Cane drink is made with REAL sugar cane, i was so amazed! I had RD International Market bookmarked forever and FINALLY dragged myself over there a couple weekends back. This place is huge! And they've got plenty of parking, which is clutch when you're about to go crazy on groceries. My husband and I hit up every single aisle and was living for the variety. They lean more on the Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese goods, but they're also serving up Korean, Filipino, and Japanese finds. I literally squealed when I spotted my craved Filipino breakfast staples: tocino, tapa, and Vigan longganisa. I was undecided what to get first and told myself "Yolo"! Had to grab some pre-marinated kalbi and a jar of kimchi while I was at it. Also mind blown to see that they carry NOH seasoning and Sun Noodle Hawaii's tonkotsu Ramen. I obviously had to join the TikTok ice cream hype train - went with the Propitious Mango. They also got lemon, peach, and pear too. The hot pot ingredient selection is massive, fresh seafood game is strong, and yes - they have durian for the brave souls out there. There's a little food court inside where we grabbed lunch to complete the experience. Honestly never thought I'd get this hyped about a grocery run, but here we are! Already planning my next visit, especially since they do an Asian Night Market every 2nd Friday and Saturday of the month with food vendors. An update is in the works soon! read more

I had roast duck, rice, bok chop from food court. Delish. Kind of awkward if you have walker to get thru isles, no motorized handicapped services or shopping carts. First time coming here. I was blown away by how big the place was, and selection. The food court only had maybe 3 restaurants with a couple of coming soon signs. Noticed a lot of items were on sale. Huge seafood selection, decent but good amount of meat and poultry, veggies and such... I could keep going. Fast forward to now. My last trip here was to purchase some specific items. Couldn't find any large beef bones. It happens. I needed some soup base. Two kinds, specifically. I think I found the section that carried the soup base but not the brand that other Asian markets carry. I know this place is called RD International, not "Asian" specific but was kind of disappointed in that. I picked up a pack of fresh pho noodles. Noticed they were $3... That's slightly higher than the other Asian Markets I've been to. I know that for a fact because I stopped by Asian Square market today to pick up another pack and it's $2.79, not a big deal to some people I guess. All the places in the food court is overpriced. On their website. There's no menu, hours of operation, etc. I bring that up because the last time I came by for lunch, and lunch only. The place that sold the pork belly was closed. This is so much more than just a grocery store! Inside RD you'll find a full-on supermarket. One of the largest produce selections anywhere, a fresh seafood market, and all that combined with a real food-court atmosphere. They have multiple restaurants, bubble tea and smoothies, dim sum, Szechuan, Pho, noodles, rice dishes, roasted pork and duck, plenty to choose from! I like browsing the massive selection of international groceries and snacks. The aisles are packed with pantry staples, sauces, noodles, spices, and lots of imported snacks You'll find some very unique chips, candies, and snacks that you will never see in your standard supermarket. One of my recent favorites is their crab flavored Lays chops. I know, sounds weird, but tastes delicious. The fresh produce and sea food market side of RD really stands out too. They've got dozens of tanks holding things like lobster, shrimp, crab, and even geoduck clams. This place Is a must if you love cooking with fresh seafood. Recently purchased two beautiful red snappers that cooked beautifully. You can really tell the difference in the freshness. Highly recommend you check out RD. Wow, what a spot! If you do any kind of cooking with Asian ingredients at home, this place is absolutely worth going to. Not only will you find the classic ingredients you'd find in the Asian section of a grocery store, but you'll find them at great prices and 10x more options! I'm talking like 30 different versions of soy sauce (I didn't even know that many versions of soy sauce existed!) I know this place prides itself on the seafood selection, but as a vegetarian I didn't look over there much. It was certainly vast and I'm sure a seafood lover would be happy! They did however have a ton of vegetarian/vegan options for many things. Again, a lot more than a regular grocery store. Even when it comes to the tofu. They had a lot of hard to find vegetables and variants of mushrooms which I also appreciate as a vegetarian! The reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is simply because the aisles are a bit confusing to navigate. They didn't have any signage indicating where things are which would be really helpful. Is "exotic" a good word to use for this international supermarket? More exotic than the Asian supermarkets I have been to in Orlando and Houston. Live frogs, geoducks, live eels, fresh fish and lobsters in tanks, turtles without heads.... OH MY!!! It was definitely something you wouldn't find in most supermarkets. Almost, completely stocked and offers a wide array of many different international items you won't find anywhere else. Definitely unique. They even have a small in-house food court. Huge Asian market. Toys for kids, household items, stationary sets, grocery, produce, frozen items, fresh live seafood and exotic animals. There are also different restaurant booths inside as well. Looking around I was amazed of how much stuff they had. Different candy snacks all throughout the store and dishwater, kitchenware and different beauty products. Also I thought it was neat how they have asian restaurant booths. A bakery, Teppanyaki place, juicery,Korean bap and a ramen place. I felt I stepped in China. The seafood section though was what bothered me. They should definitely try to keep the odor down because it stunk. Also, they had live eels and live frogs...... Those poor things are so cramped up and it stunk so bad. I can imagine they have an agonizing death. So yeah... had to take off 2 stars for that. read more

Huge, well lit, clean Asian grocery. Wide aisles and fully stocked. We looked for brown rice and UFC Sweet Chili Sauce and they did not stock them. A good, solid Asian market! I have a favorite that I go to that is a bit smaller but one I really like. What I really like about RD though is it is more like a west coast Asian market with different food stalls inside. What I also like about this market that makes it different is that they have lots of different meats and fresh, live seafood. They have meany different seafood choices including live lobster, crab and frogs. I like that they have meats for hot pot including beef short plate, pork belly and lamb. They also have harder to find meats such as chicken feet, liver and hearts. Their frozen section is very large and has a huge selection of meats, desserts, noodles and more. Their selection of sauces and seasonings is great. They also have kitchenwares and home items. They have a lot of fresh produce and I was able to find some king oyster mushrooms that looked great as well as some sugar peas, fresh peeled garlic and a couple other items. I also was able to find black vinegar and some pre-made sauces. There is a lot of space left and I hope to see it continue to grow. I would also like to see some more service as I never saw any employees around to ask a question or help locating a product. The check out person was absolutely lovely though and recommended one of the food stalls which I went to and ordered some dinner and a drink. A pretty cool Asian/international market that leans towards Chinese, Viet, and Thai goods (lacking in Japanese items aside from noodles--I couldn't find any Japanese soy sauce at all). Their food court is absolutely amazing and possibly the biggest draw here: dim sum, a Chinese bakery, Lao, African, Thai, Korean, and other food stalls--the dim sum I had was homemade and excellent and same with the pineapple buns and other baked goods I got. The Lao and Thai booths also looked tempting. Strengths: The food court, first of all. Their produce and fresh fish sections as well. And no, I didn't find the seafood section to smell overly fishy as some have complained, either. Pretty good selection of Asian housewares, decent selection of Chinese sauces, soy sauce, et cetera. Staff--those up front and those at the restaurants--all were super-sweet and friendly. Weaknesses: Pretty much lacking on Japanese and Korean foodstuffs, especially sauces and cooking ingredients. They have however some Jamaican goods so I don't know if it's just a case of finding what the local market wants or what. Despite being a large enough store, they are nowhere near carrying as much as Lotte Plaza in Orlando or New Golden Sparkling Market there, either. I think they could have a larger and more diverse inventory because really, they lack for competition save New World Market down the street. Although it seemed like more shoppers were not Asian than were and most were going in for the food court (can't blame them) so maybe they're banking on things other than Asian cooking staples here. read more

Heard about this place from my mom. So my grandma and I decided to go check it out since it's new. The place is big, and no need to worry about parking because they have a large parking spot. When my grandma and I went I believe it's still their soft opening because not all items are stocked yet. There were still a lot of items though. Some snacks I haven't seen before. I love the food court vendors and the variety of foods to choose from. The staff is so friendly and welcoming to try their food. The bakery is extra special to me because they tell me what just came out of the ovens. I was able to eat a pastry hit and fresh and take some home. It is a great treat to have a fresh baked pastry. The store area has many kitchen wares, little mementos, cute stationary, lots of treats, and even small toys and stuffed animals. I'm sure that the store has plenty of variety as they replenish their supplies. There's also many different cuisines and cultures represented here in the different isles. A great addition to Jacksonville. It's an old Winn-Dixie's that is still being converted to RD but they have a great assortment of products and adding more every day. Sometimes you have to look around because where you found and item last week may be different where you find it this week - but items are finding permanent homes. Pros: * Great assortment of items * Fresh seafood - so fresh some is still alive * Unique seafood you will find no where else * Food court under development- can't wait until there are more vendors * Cashiers are very friendly * Most prices are reasonable Cons: * Fresh Seafood is at the entrance so you get hit with the smell of fresh seafood - not great for some people's senses * Limited staff on the floor and they are not familiar with where find stuff - probably will change when they are fully stocked * Food court is still under development Based on the layout of the store it appears there is a lot more development to be done - food bars and the back and front of the store. This is a combined grocery store and food court. Foods have an emphasis on Asian cuisine. The grocery part has a nice fish market. It has a wide variety of fresh fish, crabs, and lobsters in tanks. It has a big section with tanks where you buy the fish straight out of the tank and they will kill it for you super fresh and you buy by the pound. Plus all kinds of sea food on ice. The grocery part also has a huge variety of foods not typically sold in the U.S. I got foreign Oreo flavors, which appear to be actual real Oreos imported to the U.S. The flavors of Oreo I got are: (1) fig Oreo, (2) mixed berry Oreo (pic on the box shows raspberries and blueberries), (3) yogurt Oreos, and (4) white grapes and white peaches Oreos. If you want to get a snack food or drink that you cannot get anywhere else, you can do that here. The food court has a variety of stalls. It's about $15 for a meal, I would say, at most stalls. There was one stall there that was a bakery with all kinds of buns, both sweet and ones with meats, and cake slices, and there, you can get a filling bun for $3. Something absolutely terrifying about this store is that they had sealed up the emergency exits. Each emergency exit had large eye hooks put on, like you would use to hang a porch swing. Emergency exit doors have an eye hook drilled into the door, another eye hook drilled into the door frame, and a padlock put through the eye hooks to make it impossible to open the door from inside or out. (See pics.) If there were ever a fire here, and you run towards the friendly lighted exit signs, you are gonna probably die from smoke inhalation while being crushed by other customers who see the exit sign but can't get close enough to see the padlock and are angry noone in front of them is opening the exit door. Super sketchy and terrifying. Let's hope nothing ever goes wrong here, because it is gonna be a slaughter in the national news. read more
