The process went smoothly and before we knew it we were the happy adoptive parents for a newly spayed, microchipped, immunized and ready to go. A 3 - 5 year old little doggo to join our family for many years to come and be a playful companion for our 12 year old son for a $250 adoption fee? Sweet! She's an absolute doll but I just knew something wasn't right. I took her to the vet that I have been going to since 2004 and he came back in the room with a sad look on his face and told me that although her adoption papers say she is young, they really estimate that she is closer to 9 or 10 years old. Since she is older he is concerned that her knees are not very stable and doesn't want her running around too much or going up and down the stairs a lot! Needs a full dental cleaning which will also require lab work for the sedation, had to have her anal glands cleaned out, etc. Not to mention I have a WHOLE HOUSE FULL OF STAIRS! Yes, that cost a lot of money and no I don't have a problem paying for it. The problem that I have is that my son was so excited to get an energetic playmate but now we have to be extremely cautious for her joints and well being because we unknowingly adopted a senior dog and not a 3 - 5 year old like we were lead to believe. My son cried all day when I broke the news to him and we have to carry her up and down the stairs now or else risk her having to have knee replacement surgery. She's a good girl, but boy were we mislead! Most places will let you adopt a senior dog for a low price but we paid a full adoption fee for a dog with health issues that were not divulged to us in the beginning. Be sure you know what you're getting yourself into before adopting from these people!!

What I appreciated most were the updates, pictures, and communication throughout his stay, something many boarding facilities don't provide. The best part was that Vago celebrated his birthday while he was there! The staff made it special and sent me adorable pictures. Thank you for treating my fur baby like family. Highly recommend!

We recently brought our pup Beary to Buddies on a recent trip out to Vegas and I gotta say, we were…read moreso happy with our decision to board him there! Originally, we had a reservation back home with our normal pet resort, but didn't want to be away from Beary for so long; We often have to drop him off a day before our trip and don't pick him up again until the day after we get back, so that's an extra two days without the little guy (and two extra days of boarding to boot). So we looked into the possibility of boarding him close to our hotel while we were in town. A family member sent us a recommendation to go to Buddies and my wife reached out to ask about vacancy for the weekend and the owners got back to us right away to let us know they would be able to take him in and walked her through the process of submitting all the necessary documentation and clearing him to stay. Our little guy is not fixed yet, so unfortunately, he was unable to be group boarded (which is typcial). Check-in was a breeze, and He had a nice large play area to have all to himself and was boarded in a private suite. They also took him out for a walk twice a day while he was there, as well as playtime with the staff constantly. What was really awesome was that they would send us pics of him during his walks, playtime, and before bedtime. It was really awesome to get the periodic updates...which really put us (especially the kids) at ease. And it was really reassuring to know he was close by to us. Staff was super nice and friendly. The consistent updates really made an enormous difference for us. Our usual resort does not do that...so that put them way above. They seemed to genuinely enjoy Beary's company. We would DEFINITELY bring him back here again on future trips (and that is more often than not) and I wish they were located close to home...or that we lived in Vegas so we could bring him more often...wishful thinking =p

First off, thank you for all that you do to help animals and our community! I love the work this…read moreorganization is doing and think they truly have the animals' health and best interest in mind for not letting people just walk through the kennels like certain other larger organizations do. Additionally, they do a lot of events to promote animal health and welfare throughout the community or partner with other organizations to do so. Most recently, I attended a microchip clinic hosted on-site here that the Girl Scout troop sponsored. It was a great event and every one was so helpful, nice, and efficient on microchipping my fur baby. Thank you!

November 14, 2025…read more Wow, now update of any comments I have written, Maestro or Maestra, a few notes on the piano if you please, one thousand three hundred eighty two! Newest newsletters from this place in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is about a doggy. I will not give his name! No one knows how long he had been "running on the streets!" Dark, he was alone, very emaciated. A volunteer at this Nevada SPCA found the dog. Veterinary team did tests. The doggy had a condition. When said doggy was adopted, the people that adopted him mastered how to administer medicines for the condition! Glad said doggy is now adopted into his forever family! Thank you to this SPCA for all you do to help animals in your care! Forty plus years as No Kill Shelter! There is an area where potential adopters, they go to this area to get to know the animal better! There is an exercise area where Volunteers can help the animals get daily exercise. When an animal is brought to this SPCA, if not already microchipped, the veterinary team will microchip the animals!
