This review is almost year and 8 months after we got or puppy Bailey. My family and I had to make a pit stop at the Cafe next door before returning home to California. While waiting for our order we somehow wondered into Puppytown and I'm so happy we did. The moment we walked in we knew we were walking away with a new family member. The staff in puppytown were super kind and helpful. They let us sit and play with the puppies to better decide which one we wanted. We ended up on a 3 month standard golden doodle, Bailey. She will be 2 in September and she is the most loving and energetic doodle. Thank you PuppyTown LV! The only complaint is the shot records they provided. When I took Bailey into her first vet visit and provided them with the records they said that If she really did get her first round of vaccines it wouldn't have just been written in but had a sticker with a serial number. Puppy town is amazing! They are soo sweet and really know their dogs well. I have had family and friends come through constantly to get pets and they all turn out amazing. I had originally texted about a Samoyed but they wouldn't have any for a couple of months. I opted to come in and see the corgis instead. They introduced me to every single corgi they had that wasn't sold and let me see their individual personalities as well as how they interacted with other dogs. They made sure I got a puppy that was the perfect temperament and playfulness to match my lifestyle. They also made sure he was completely ready to come home before they would let me take him. He had gotten his third parvo shot recently and they kept him a week for monitoring to make sure he wouldn't have any adverse reactions. Pickup was also super easy. I live in LA and had called ahead to make an appointment that I ended up having to change and they were super flexible with the times I could come. Came in for an almost 3 month old pomsky which was priced at $1600. Ended up buying one, and when we got home she immediately started pooping diarrhea on our turf. No accidents in the house thank goodness, and she was pretty much potty trained to go outside from day 1. She was a sweet puppy but my concerns for parasites grew quickly because we have dealt with this before with our pug from a private breeder. His parasites were very hard to kill, and we forked out a huge vet bill for his parasites. Literally traumatized at his situation. Anyways, I texted Jennifer asking about her stool and sent her a picture. (Pictured below). After taking the puppy to our vet at Sunridge Animal Hospital the very next morning because she was now pooping lots of mucus with her diarrhea, she was diagnosed the next morning with PARASITES. Yes, I get that parasites are common in dogs as we are no strangers to it. I immediately texted Jennifer what was going on after receiving the results. She was nice to offer to treat the puppy at no cost at all at her shop and make sure that the puppy was free of parasites before I got her back. At first we agreed, but after dropping off the puppy felt best that we would not take the dog back. Spoke to Jennifer again, and yes I was very upset and rude when I spoke to her but I was mostly upset at the fact that we went home with the puppy being infested with parasites DAY 1 when we literally got home. I have expressed my concerns about how I thought it was unfair to say "parasites don't constitute a refund", because I didn't even have her for an hour at home and she was having diarrhea. Jennifer claims she didn't know the dog had diarrhea because she didn't have the dog for that long. So I guess they don't really check their poop anyway and don't pay attention to what they're cleaning in the cage. My main concern was that now I had to fork out a vet bill because their partnered vet was closed at this time. I also now have to treat my pug at home, and I would have had a freakin headache keeping the two apart not sharing things. My vet also instructed me to clean everything in my house, and my yard because the stool sample showed lots of eggs. I did not want to deal with a vicious cycle of parasites. Jennifer agreed to give me half the amount I paid for the dog, and said I could have the rest in credit (even though I have said I am not going to buy another dog). So I walked away with a refund of $862 and a credit of $862 for a dog I will not be getting. If they think this was fair, it was not. Everyone who buys their dog from here should demand it be seen for parasites and proof of it being checked first. Had I read these yelp reviews before I went there, I wouldn't have purchased a dog from here. I would expect to have a dog AT LEAST without parasites walking out the door. read more

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING PUPPIES!!!! This place is a puppy mill and producing very very sick dogs. It's absolutely heart breaking. I will be contacting every agency I can until they are fully investigated and stopped. (Puppy# 1): They sold my family a dog that my mom was never able to take home even after paying for fully because she could not put on weight and was determined to be unviable. To remedy this and avoid A refund (Jennifer) gave us a second puppy. (Puppy#2): the second puppy was the sweetest however she was also underweight and had severe breathing issues. See video attached! We took her to Jennifer's preferred vet (the place was super dirty) multiple times where he kept her for weeks at a time for observation. We were told that our puppy had severe bronchitis. On the 4th visit to the vet, the vet kept her for 2 weeks and then gave her to Puppytowns Jennifer. WITHOUT OUR CONSENT. So we never got to say goodbye to our puppy that we absolutely adored. We have no idea what happened to her. This was theft and they likely killed her! We will never know. (Puppy #3): we were finally able to get a hold of an affiliate who said Jennifer was pregnant and left for California. We were routinely ignored. Some guy there gave us our newest puppy to remedy the situation and avoid refunding us. Our newest puppy has several severe physical defects including a protruding rib and rotated torso/rib cage that her vet said would not affect her too badly, and she has angular joints at her front leg elbows. She's also extremely fearful and is underweight. It's clear she survived a traumatic experience because I've never seen a puppy hide from people and cringe at being touched. It's heart breaking but we can't bring her back or complain out of fear they will kill her too. As a back story, my father passed away in June and 4 weeks before he did, our dog of 15 years. Needless to say my mother is alone and we had hoped a new companion could aid her in her grief. Puppytown has been a disaster. They've already made the news for unsanitary conditions and it appears nothing has changed. Please heed my warning and do not give your money to this place. This is inhumane and an abuse against animals. Shame on you PuppyTown. Shame! I still want to know why the vet was ok to give away a dog that was not his to give away without our consent. Ever since my oldest furbaby passed away, I honestly went through an angry grieving phase 'cause Dinky was the most affectionate and loyal of our furbabies. There was a huge void that our other two couldn't fill - it's just not in their personalities. Anyway, I started trying to find another dog, looking at adoption shelters since we had a great experience with our big boy Hodor. We even made arrangements with an out-of-state organization that had foster parents passing through Vegas on a road trip, which fell through. I couldn't find a pup that had that spark with me or the hubby, so I started thinking of my experience with getting our purebred Shae, settling on an idea of buying another puppy... so long as the shop had a more positive reputation, which lead us to Puppy Town in Korea Town (near the Greenland grocery store). Decent average rating according to other Yelpers (thanks again!), and their website was informative regarding available puppies and transparent prices. When we saw them in November, we had to make an appointment to visit by calling/texting a listed phone number, which the reps quickly responded to. The entire staff was great! They verified we had an appointment when we got to their entrance, and socialized a bit with us while we met the Pomchi (Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix) we saw on their website in a designated play space that was just a pet-gated circle. It was a clean puppy shop from what we could see, and a few staff members were cleaning the puppy kennels while others were trying to keep the others calm during our visit. I think what I appreciated most about the staff here is that they weren't pressuring us, but let us come to our own conclusion/decision to get our youngest furbaby, Rice =) We knew the price going in, and their average for puppies is comparable to other pet shops charge (over $2,000), but no one should forget that sales tax. We honestly paid around $2,800 for Rice ($2,600 +tax). Going through the paperwork, the rep told us that if he got sick within 10 days or we found out that he has a genetic disorder within the year, then we could get a replacement. To be frank, there are no refunds, and they do not accept returned puppies for a variety of common sense reasons like someone is having trouble potty training their new pup. Rep made it a point to repeat this statement: Do NOT bring our new pup to public places or around other dogs outside of our family home UNTIL he get his last shot. The rep told us he only had his Rabies missing, and we found out from our primary vet he needed more like the Parvovirus, Bordetella and Canine Distemper vaccines when they went over his list and administered dates. They also provided us with contact info for the vet (All American Animal Hospital) they work with, which provides their puppies with vaccines and wellness checks. Mmm... Side note: The animal hospital they work with weren't that great when I tried getting more detailed vet records, and making an appointment for Rice's remaining shots 'cause the phone rep told me to just visit during their clinic's designated walk-in vaccine days. Other items that Rice came with... 1: A bag (sandwich size) of puppy food the shop gives their pups, which we were told to gradually mix in with food we'd provide at home so he wouldn't have diarrhea. 2: A microchip already placed inside of him, which we activated/registered via AKC Reunite. This was successful considering our primary vet provider was able to find and scan into his profile. Don't know if you'd consider it luck or good practice (from my observation/experience), but our primary vet was able to confirm that he's a healthy pup! I'm just happy that Rice is able to attach himself to our family like he's been with us the entire time. Now, if only we could get him past the teething stage XD When I think back to our whole experience thus far, which includes Rice's wellness once we got him like finding out there was a whole round of shots he was missing (not just his Rabies vaccine), and they talked up about working with was a specific vet/animal hospital that turned into a bit of a letdown... These are the reasons why it's not more of a 4 or 5-star review. These wellness details (missing info) could make or dispel the initial trust we had. I can't just give a rating based on a single visit - our family had to compensate for the missing details that we weren't informed of. read more

This is a local family owned business. Not a commercialized business. They know their breeds and puppies based on experience and not just books. We weren't even looking for a puppy when we bumped into the place. We saw Teddy and that was it. My son and myself fell inlove. BUT the puppy just had the shot that day and they said they would rather keep the puppy for a week to make sure puppy is ok w reaction. Most pet stores could care less. Service was great and we love our puppy, but there were significant issues with this place. First, our girl had kennel cough and had to be quarantined and medicated for more than a week when we brought her home. She has had several other issues as well that may or may not be because of Puppy Town, a persistent ear infection, skin infections, etc. We also received papers (and paid for) for a pure bred shih-tzu, and she is absolutely not a pure bred (the vet confirmed this - she is way larger than a typical pure bred shih-tzu). This is fine with us, but we did pay probably $500-$1000 more than we should have for a mix. Also, I guess those papers were just fake. Our vet had pretty bad things to say about this place and puppy mill puppies in general. Just proceed with caution! read more

Update to this review 3 days later, we named our Samoyed Coco. Coco was really energetic and happy when she got home and met our healthy 8 year old German Shepherd, getting along like lax older sibling and fearless younger sibling. All gravy... until the next day I noticed a yellow crust around her right nostril. I took note and monitored if the crust would go away, instead it got worse. On the second day I saw it spread to her left nostril and called the All American Vet Hospital--the choice of hospital Puppy Town guarantees their pets health from 3 days after purchase--to make an appointment. On my 3rd day after purchase, Coco started to develop mucus and a small cough. I took Coco to AAVH that day and got her checked up waiting for about an hour. Meanwhile, I noticed another puppy English Bulldog, Chloe next to met who also came from Puppy Town, sick as well and a lot more lethargic. I talked to Chloe's owner a little more and found more things in common. Chloe was picked up 2 days earlier than Coco and Jennifer told us both we had to wait an extra week because deworming needed more time for both of our puppies. This started to concern me. When my boyfriend and I had first met Coco on a Sunday, we were told we can take her home that Wednesday as she is deworming. When I arrived Wednesday for pickup, I was told by the older lady Coco wasn't ready because the vaccine dates were were wrong and she'll be ready Friday. She spoke to Jennifer in Korean and then Jennifer said Sunday would be the day for pickup. Coincidence or not both Coco and Chloe are sick and we were unable to pick them up on the days originally promised while they were both there together. What I can ascertain is that the business owners here are not completely honest. When it's time for Coco to be seen, the doctor checked her cough and her breathing and said it's likely Kennel Cough, also an Upper Respiratory Infection and he did an X-Ray to check if it's serious. The doctor said Coco has Bronchitis but luckily, Coco's symptoms are mild and I was sent home with 10 days of nose drops and antibiotics. Unfortunately for Chloe, I'm not so sure she's as lucky and I hope her the best. On my way out, I hear the receptionist speaking to a mother visitor with 3 huskies, asking if they've gone to Puppy Town today. Very likely, similar situation and there is a kennel cough breakout in Puppy Town. The positive, I was able to take Coco to AAVH and all costs are covered until she gets better and everyone there is really nice. The negative, I'm hoping my German Shepherd does not get infected. If he does, we have to foot the bill ourselves. I urge everyone who's bought and will buy their puppies here to take their puppers to AAVH within the first 3 days of purchase. The puppies are young and very vulnerable, some more than others. None of the puppies here are cheap and they're all super adorable, precious and that's why we bought them. I really hope all the puppies who are infected make it out okay and this breakout gets resolved. After this experience I will only go to adoption centers or approach breeders themselves. read more

We had an amazing experience with the workers in Puppy Town! They are super friendly and helpful, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a new puppy! We love our little pup so much Puppy Town for our little fur ball ***REVISED*** We purchased a Shiba Inu puppy from Puppy Town last year and well, let's just say we should've gone somewhere else to purchase a puppy. We opted for the monthly payment plan so our total went from $2000 to $5000, which we were okay with at first. Only a few months after getting our puppy, we noticed that she was losing her eyesight. By seven months old, she was completely blind and Puppy Town is not liable for these kinds of things. After spending hundreds--no a couple thousands on getting her tested, getting medications for her, etc., we were told that her eyesight could not be restored because it was a genetic disability. I'm sure that Puppy Town knew that one of our puppies parents had to have been blind, and I'm sure that our puppy wasn't the only one in that litter who ended up being blind. Our puppy had to be treated with steroids and other medications from such a young age, and because of this, she has had stomach problems, growing problems, and still has to suffer every single day with her blindness. We definitely would not purchase another animal from Puppy Town and I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Do not go here!! This place is a joke. We went in to get a mini aussie doodle puppy. Puppy town told us that they would pay for her rabies shot and that she already had a set of other ones. After going to the vet, they told us that there is no way she could've gotten a shot at such a young age. And if they did, its very wrong to do and bad for the puppy. She was 8 days old when she got her first shot. So we had to pay $52 to redo the first round since they didn't believe that they could've done this to a puppy. 1. They falsify health records 2. (after reading reviews) they sell extremely ill dogs 3. They lie about the breed This place is extremely fucked up. The girl Kay who helped us out was fine but the fact that she must know what goes on behind their doors bothers me so much as she seemed like the nicest girl ever. We are going back today to complain about this, it's illegal. I did not just pay $3600 for a dog that could have serious health issues. If they don't want to comply with our demands, we will be suing. This is a long one... My boyfriend and I bought a husky/akita mix from Puppy Town and was helped by the owner who was extremely sweet to us. Everything at the store was all good! Though after leaving the store, everything started to go downhill which is the real reason for a bad review. We brought our beautiful girl home and we started to realize little things. She would sleep all day long, she was breathing rapidly and here and there she was coughing very little. Along with buying her, the puppy store suggests taking the puppy to the vet they work with; which is free if you take them the first three days and that is exactly what we did. When we took her to the vet, we raised all of our concerns to the main doctor, and considering that this was my boyfriends first puppy, he asked everything and anything, because he wanted to ensure she was healthy. The doctor checking her out, just smacked her on the sides and said she was one healthy pup. Then continued on and told us that heavy breathing and sleeping all day was normal for a puppy. Though we explicitly told him that it was excessive and he just brushed it off. (don't worry I will be leaving a review for them also) Two weeks later her cough got worse and we saw blood in her poop. My boyfriend took her to the vet and the doctors son helped him out and said that everything she started showing signs of when we first got her was also signs of kennel cough. Her cough did not get any better after giving her medication for two weeks, another two weeks they gave us more medication because the first round of medication did not work,. We were worried that she was not getting any better, as she cried at night and then began walking on three legs avoiding her one back leg as if she was in pain. We decided to get a second opinion so we took her to another vet (VCA blue cross animal hospital / Hualapai). The doctor helped us out and that day took fecal matter to test, blood work, nose residue and so one. she checked her heart rate and more. ( 100% way more effort then the first vet) Instantly she said she did not want to worry us but she believes she had distemper virus. She explained to us everything about the virus and explained to us she will have the test results rushed and will let us know. When the test results came back it showed a positive for distemper virus. Told us the virus is highly transmittable and she probably received it from another puppy at the store because heavy breathing, low activeness and sleeping all day are minor symptoms of the virus. (Below is a description of distemper virus for those of you who are not aware of what it is.) The doctor gave us our options of what to do. We ended up having to euthanize our puppy because if we kept her living her life until she passed, she would have been living in pain, never able to go outside, never able to go near other dogs. We did not want to have to consider such a thing but the doctor suggested it to be the best option since she will only live in pain and depression from the virus. We loved her too much to continue letting her suffer just because we did not want to let go. My boyfriend went back to the store to make them aware of our situation and the daughter who works there tried brushing off my boyfriend. He wanted to talk to them like a person instead of bashing their business that he asked to speak to the mom who helped us. The owner was helpful and refunded him all the money. Yes, we received a refund, but it does not make this any better. We paid 1,000's in medical bills because the original vet was not able to check her properly and diagnose her correctly. but the biggest thing is that, that was our puppy that we grew a connection with, just to end up losing her. The pain that came with that can't be compensated. We miss our little girl everyday and I always read reviews but this time I didn't and that was my biggest regret. If I knew they sold sick pups, I wouldn't of come here in all honesty and just hoped that this place would have been shut down by now. The owner gave us the option to take another puppy with no extra charge or we can go back and get another puppy later for the same price, but we decided to take some time off because no puppy was going to replace her like that, which ended up in us getting a refund. We haven't and won't be going back.. Im not telling anyone is not get a puppy from her but if you do, really pay attention for anything you feel is wrong and take them to a different vet right away. *****For those who do not know distemper virus it is a deadly virus for puppies. Most puppies diagnosed with distemper will not make it into adult hood and if they do then they will be brain dead. It is a virus that attacks neurologically. (caused her to believe her back leg was in pain, when it wasn't) She would cry like she was in pain ( when she wasn't) she was not able to be around other dogs and leave the house, she needed to stay inside at all time.**** read more

Oh Puppy Town! Thank you for introducing me to my puppy Zeus. My husband and I were on the way to a Korean store near by and stumbled upon this place. We saw the sign and I thought, "let's just LOOK." Just look I said.. while looking at all the cute puppies to choose from, I saw one and instantly fell in love. Once there is a potential puppy you are interested in, they bring them out and let you play with them. Just so you know there are multiple window boxes to look into with plenty of puppies to choose from. Maybe three or four puppies in a window. I would definitely look at their website to see the puppies you can choose from! On the website they also show some of the finance companies they use in case you do want to purchase a puppy on a whim. The application takes literally 5 minutes. After falling in love with my pup, my husband applied and we were approved and decided to purchase our pup! We didn't have to do a down because of the finance company. I heard from a few of my friends that puppy town is not as expensive as other puppy places in Vegas! Once you purchase your pup, they microchip him or her right then and there. They also move your pup in the back so no one else can take them. There might be a time that you can't take your pup home right then and there. They just want to make sure they are growing and are ready to go home. We bought our pup on a Saturday and didn't get to take him home until Tuesday. We were able to visit him every day though which was nice. Everyone at puppy town was very friendly and nice. They do try and answer all your questions you have about your new puppy. Even after you take your pup home, they still answer your questions through text or phone call. I really do appreciate that. They provide all their vaccine information too! My fiance and I have been talking about getting a dog for a while and we always enjoy playing with the dogs at local shelters or pet stores. We browsed this shop before and thought that the puppies were adorable. On Dec 28, we walked in just to look, but instead came out with the cutest corgi puppy. Jennifer was incredibly sweet and informative. She let us play with the puppy in the play pen and never pressured us to make the purchase. I immediately fell in love with our corgi after holding her and knew that we had to have her. Jennifer had all of the paperwork ready and gave us a bag of puppy food. She gave us some good training advice and told us that we should not hesitate to call if we had any questions. Some of the previous reviews are very critical because of the pricing of the puppies and the sanitary conditions of the cages. However, pure bred dogs are always expensive and we felt that the pricing was extremely reasonable compared to the other pet shops that we visited. The Petland in Henderson was asking for $4500 for a corgi puppy! Now that's insane... As far as the sanitary conditions, we thought that the cages were very clean and well kept. As soon as a puppy made a mess, there was someone in the back that cleaned it up. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience at Puppy Town and love our baby girl, Luna. She is the sweetest little puppy and we are excited to have her in our family! read more

My mom has been dying for a dog recently so since I was off today and After reading reviews on this place I decided to come and take a look. I honestly wasn't thinking I'd walk out with a puppy today but seeing how cute they were and not being as expensive as other places I've been to it was just an opportunity I didn't want to pass. Customer service was great they were super nice and informative answered whatever questions I had and took me step by step on their financing process. They made sure to give the puppy a bath before giving him to me and he smells so good I love it lol So today we walked out with a 2 month old shih tzu and will be soon giving him more room to play once we settle into our new house next week! I hesitated in writing this review because I truly love my dog after 3 years. and I consider myself a great human being, I will do what I can to make my dog live a happy life. But not everyone can or will do what I've done. READ: First red flag. Jeniffer said the dog was perfect. 2.) After taking the French bulldog home about a week later she got sick with respiratory problems, took her to the vet. She was fine. 3.) Fast-forward, to this year. My Frenchie has been diagnosed with luxating patella, and IVDD. This has cost me and is still costing me a ton of money. About 10k total. On top her not being able to live a normal life, and being in pain. Message me with any question, and I will speak my truth with receipts! Follow my advice and DO NOT BUY HERE.
