Specifically, Veronica the MA in the orthopedic clinic, Dr. Hwang and his PA Michael Cunningham as well as Heidi Tyson my rehab therapist are all excellent. My experience at the surgical center was also as smooth as I could have possibly imagined. The staff, nurses, and anesthesia team were great. I never felt like I was in a scary hospital setting, and people paid attention and checked in on me often. As a fellow healthcare professional I know how to run a business and care for patients without my office feeling like a people mill. This is not like other large clinics or hospitals I have been to. It feels more personal and more like a family practice.

Scheduling was a breeze, after I got off the phone I went onto their website and was able to print the new patient forms so I could have them ready ahead of time as I was going on my lunch break. When I arrived the intake gal was very friendly but not overly and in a freakish way like some can be lol I had to wait maybe 6-8 minutes for the doctor to come in. She was kind and didn't rush which I appreciate it. She was happy to answer my questions and I felt happy with the end result and her diagnosis. I will absolutely continue to use them as my ENT. I had to plead with the patient coordinator to get my pain meds and had to call every-three-days to get refills. I had severe nerve pain from a damaged nerve in C5 and the PA would only prescribe 100mg gabapentin 3x/day. After pleading with him he increased the dose to 300mg 3x/day. It still wasn't enough to curb the nerve pain. I feel if the PA had upped the gabapentin to a higher dose to relieve the nerve pain I would have been able to stop taking the opioids much sooner. Zero guidance was provided. I have been weening myself off the hydrocodone - no help, no guidance from the surgeons office about contacting my PCP for support. I've been on my own the past month figuring things out on my own with Googles help. Now I've hit a wall. The withdrawal symptoms are intense - irritability, anxiety, frequent crying, joint pain, insomnia, flu like symptoms and on and on. I spoke with the pharmacist in my PCP's office today and now have a game plan. The upshot - Sales is an excellent surgeon but his team is not!
