Amazing Grace was immediately available when my 93 yr old uncle needed care…read more The director was prompt in returning my calls, reassuring in describing their services, immedidate in placing a qualified and caring nurse to his home. My uncle was a very difficult patient but the care person diffused the situation, gained his confidence and made his last 2 months of life, comfortable and dignified. They took complete care of his physical, medical and most importantly his emtoional needs. They were in constant communication with our family in updating his condition. At the time when Hospice became involved in his care, they continued to provide for my uncle as if they were his primary care givers. My uncle felt confidence and care from them and minutes before his passing his caregiver read with my uncle, his favorite passages from his bible....i couldn't ask for more personal, kind, and loving care for my family member.

My 89 yr old dad had emergency surgery, and went to a rehab/nursing facility. He was experiencing 'sundowners' at night. (total confusion, combative, danger to himself and others, and a fear of him pulling out either his pick line, or catheter.) I contracted (through the agency) the same caregiver he had at home, to be a 'sitter', with him, from 9:00p-9:00a. I was to pay $160 for 12 hrs. The same amount I was paying for 24 hr care, which included light housekeeping, driving, meal prep, help with personal hygiene, etc. When I questioned the cost, I was told that because it's in a hospital setting as a sitter, it would mean that the caregiver would have to BE AWAKE WITH HIM AT ALL TIMES, different from being at the home, and sleeping at night. I understood. The caregiver texted me, the second morning, stating that she was 'sorry, but he pulled out his pick line, while 'she was in the bathroom.' What???! This resulted in my father having to be ambulanced back to the hospital, to have his pick line re-inserted! (A pick line is serious, not just an IV) Because I wasn't thinking clearly, I believed her. At the time I was exhausted and a basket case from what I had been dealing with, with my dad that week (life support included, and my 88 yr old mom at home experiencing early signs of dementia.) Think of my horror, when the night nurses pulled me aside later that afternoon, to tell me they had caught the caregiver laying down on the couch, IN THE TV ROOM, not once, but a couple of times, throughout her shift!!!!! The TV room, isn't even close to where his room was located. When I contacted the agency owner in a rage, she tried DEFENDING the caregiver by saying that 'in hospital settings, it's not unusual for things to happen at times.' I'm sorry, 'things happen at times', when 1 nurse is taking care of 5 patients and can't be 5 places at once. I paid $160 for 1 on 1 so 'THINGS WOULDN'T HAPPEN!!' Do you leave a toddler in the bathtub by himself for 2 min? Let alone, go lay down in ANOTHER room?? Do you leave a toddler alone near a pool? 'THINGS HAPPEN' in 5 seconds!!! She was supposed to ring for a nurse, and inform her/him that she needed a bathroom break, etc., so they could keep an eye out. The nurses informed me that sitters are common for some patients, and that they had never seen this happen before. That sitters never leave the room, and ONLY for a bathroom break, with someone covering for them. The nurses told me that when the caregiver informed them what had happened, she actually told them that 'she wasn't where she was supposed to be at the time.' And all of the nurses involved agreed, that they didn't buy that it happened when she was so called 'in the bathroom.' We also had determined that some money had 'gone missing' from his wallet, in the time the caregiver took my father to the ER, and left with his clothes and belongings (already in car by the time I got to my dad) to go back up to the house to be with my mom. Needless to say, we never mentioned this, because obviously, unless you catch someone in the act, you can't prove anything, but it was very unsettling and we really didn't want to believe it. So NO, I CAN'T PROVE THIS, but it's seems like an awfully big coincidence AND more suspicious, since now my trust in this person was completely shattered.

Valerie had her belongings in her hand ready to clock out for the day. Didn't care that I and another older man trying to enroll to become providers to help our loved ones. She was rude and unashamed of rushing the old man to go away and out the door. Poor guy had so many questions and was very confused about the paperwork handed to him. The lady helping him was kind and tried to answer his questions but Valerie stepped in and interrupted them and said to come back Monday to ask all his questions because they have to go home and the computers are going to turn off at 5pm. She did the same thing to me. I was dropping off documents to link my case with my moms and they refused to give me a receipt. I asked 3 times for a receipt and they both said that they don't have time to write up a receipt. They need to go home that I should get her earlier in the day to do all of this. I got here during open hours there's no reason I can't get a receipt for all the documents. Last time I dropped off documents and didn't get a receipt, I got denied because I was told they didn't receive anything from me. Valerie and Nyphromi didn't care about anything and weren't trying anything to be helpful. They just told me to come early in the morning on Monday so I can get my receipt. Then IHSS wonders why they're in need of providers. Front desk workers like them don't help us help disabled recipients!! Valerie should look for another job. This is not for her. She should be helping us and giving us resources. But instead she's rude, disrespectful towards elders. All she cares about is clocking out. I hope someone from IHSS sees my review and replaces Valerie and Nyphromi with better workers that are ready to help and guide us to become better providers.

From the moment we called Right at Home, in Yucaipa, California, we were treated with respect and concern. The care manager was able to meet with us right away to address our concerns for our family member's care and always makes herself available to accept our phone calls. We contracted for the service of a caregiver at three days per week and were so pleased, with the company, we increased our contract with Right at Home to have a caregiver six days per week. From the start, we were assigned a caregiver who perfectly matched our needs and our loved one accepted the caregiver immediately. We would highly recommend Right at Home.

I needed someone to be there a few days a week to help with hygiene care, meals, and errand running. My mom looks forward to her visits and I can see that her caregiver genuinely cares for my mom as well. All Right at Home staff are extremely responsive when I have questions and I truly value their services. They helped me navigate my mom's long-term care and assisted with my mom's evaluation for her services. I don't know what I would have done without them.

He had just become slightly verbal and off tubal feeding and was eating by mouth. At totally kids, I stayed with him every day for three weeks. Just going home for necessities and ablutions while his mother stayed with him. While there he was given soft food and progressively more solid and normal food as he recovered. He had a therapy schedule that had at least two or three different therapies each day. He was given four different types of therapy; he had speech therapy (which included addressing his dietary restrictions and progress), physical therapy, occupational therapy (which I had never heard of and helped with daily activities and coordination), and lastly he had recreational therapy which helped him through play. This last was especially helpful to my son. Ms Julie, upon learning that my son's birthday was near and that he loved baseball, went and got him a batting tee, a bat, and balls. He was very inspired by this and it really helped him. All the therapists there were very professional, engaging, and always had an eye on progress. I really want to thank them so much. The staff and doctors were always helpful and tried to accommodate any needs we expressed. There is a two visitor rule and a visiting hours cut off at 9. They tried their best to help us and even set up a table in the front waiting area so we could celebrate his birthday all together as a family with my son. The rooms are separate from each other but just curtained off and the bed I used so I could stay with my son was a foldout armchair. It wasn't the most comfortable but I was able to stay with my son (who was 8 then 9 in our time there) and that was the most important thing to me. I do recommend Totally Kids and their rehabilitation. We have stopped back to visit as the therapy team and the whole staff were so very nice and helpful.

I stopped going because I moved out of state, but I took his recommended pillow and foot alignment tools with me, which have helped me sleep well ever since. Without the foot supports he provided, I struggled to hike long distances without discomfort. Since visiting Dr. Rendon, I have never felt this pain-free. Although his services are pricey and he doesn't accept insurance, I believe it is worth it for the lasting relief I've experienced.
