We moved my 93 year old mom from California to Colorado just as Covid was first hitting the US and…read moreeverything was shutting down. Monarch Greens cared for her during her last 14 months of life, and I can't be more grateful for the love, care and companionship she found there. In California she lived in a large nationwide assisted-living chain. The amount of attention and the level of care she received at Monarch Greens had to be 10 times more than at the other facility. The hospice people, as well as doctors and nurses (all from outside of Monarch Greens, unrelated to their business) were so impressed with the care given to the residents there. It is a small, home-like facility. Lunches and dinners are eaten around a single, large dining room table with caregivers preparing, serving and interacting with the residents. Erin and MeLisa, the owners and operators, are closely involved in all aspects of the facility. After a zoom meeting with doctors from Kaiser in Fort Collins, the Kaiser people told me how amazed they were at how well informed MeLisa was about my mother - her health, her meds, her habits, her likes and dislikes - saying, "We don't see this at other facilities." As my mother neared the end of life, everyone there demonstrated so much love to her and to myself. I cannot recommend Monarch Greens too highly.

Therefore, I did not get out bed often, other than for therapy. I did not think the therapy would be helpful and was able to express that which changed their approach in problem solving for me when I would be back at home. Yes, there were times I had to wait for responses to my 'call' but all in all, I was satisfied with the services provided by this facility. In particular, one of the seasoned CNAs made the experience more than tolerable. He treated me as a person and not simply as a 'body' even though he had to do things that were related to bodily functions. I appreciated his care and respect for me and came to trust him quickly. He made the experience for me more than tolerable.

Once o got get here, she was dressed and cleaned everyday and in a special wheelchair. She was able to respond to certain things. She survived another 3 years. This company is wonderful.
