Do you like getting calls from people who tell you "they have an appointment with you" as your morning call without ever having made an appointment? (an appointment to them is something they and their company decide is an appointment.They pick day and time. They let you know what it is the day of. Really, is that something you need to get your pretty head involved in?) Do you want a company who believes that waiting till the last minute to try to "swing by" and see your loved one is a best practice? If you are headed to the doctor and they call you, they will push to see you in the few minutes that are available because that is "all they have." Do you want a company that tries to push services on you even when told no by using a sales tactic of "Well your doctor ordered it?" My doctor ordered it in case we needed it. We don't need it. We don't need the scare tactic that we are refusing doctors "orders". I am glad my doctor made it very clear to me why it was ordered and easily could be refused. Would you like a company that can't be bothered when you mess up their average by your loved one being hospitalized "too much". You can't slow down their flow by getting "sick". They are trying to run a health care skilled home nursing business here and they ain't got time for that! (sick people hurt profits!) Do you like errant therapist knocking on your door because their company hasn't communicated to them that your loved one is in the hospital and has been for a week? Why they would not let their therapists know and not have them roaming around needlessly? Do you like give concise two sentence instructions that are ignored by 90% of the staff? Stuff like "Please call the day before you want to come out. You can best reach me at this number." Sentences like these are feckless wishes of fools. If you love the above things, then AccentCare is a company you want! They give you all this in spades. Who needs communication and professionalism when you can have AccentCare? We did appreciate a couple of the employees. They were good at their jobs and we are thankful for their services. However, you can tell from the top down this company is as poorly run as it gets. Poor time management and poor communication...but mostly, poor core values.

Long story a bit shorter, we had a new move in fly in yesterday from California. His family flew out that morning and brought their father back the same day, so needless to say, it was quite the stressful situation due to their father having a fairly advanced stage with his dementia. We had been working on getting Physician orders in at the onset of confirmation and the Doctor continued to delay. When it came down to the wire, we had to provide the family with an alternative option. Per state regs, we cannot accept a resident without Physician orders and our plan B, which is to onboard with our onsite Physician group, rightfully could not see him until Friday. The family had expressed their concerns about being with him through the night as they do not have much experience dealing with Dementia. I threw a Hail Mary pass to Sharon and boy did she take it in for the touchdown! She was first on my list to call and while we waited on her return call, our team made multiple calls to see who could assist. Your team was the STAR that came through for us and I do not have enough words to express how grateful we are. In addition, the family complimented Elliot (caregiver) so much. He knew exactly how to handle our new resident, Dr. Smith and the family was able to get peaceful sleep after their physically and emotionally draining day! Year 2 to 3 was not as nice, not to the level of care and 'customer service' we experienced the first year. We stayed with them out of our convenience and because our mother was used to them. 1. They bill every week. If you don't pay weekly they harp on you about the bill. We asked repeatedly and were told repeatedly that paying monthly was fine. Harping continued. 2. If you have them buy groceries REQUEST RECEIPTS. In reviewing bills and seeing what was actually in her fridge and pantry, I really wonder if all the money we paid for 'grocery cards' and 'groceries' was accurate. An 85yo woman just doesn't eat $200+ groceries a week IMO, which is what it added up to sometimes. Maybe they stocked up on money cards, but regardless, please ask for receipts. 3. We were there all day (24 hours) on a day someone was scheduled to show up but the senior never showed up. Makes us question every single charge from that person we ever paid for. They did not bill for that day, but the senior person who came to visit the next day was sure a visit had been scheduled and missed. 4. Our mother had a social worker from Adult Protective Services assigned to her after being in the hospital a few years ago. Caring Senior Services told APS things they had never shared with us. It felt like they were tattling on us to get us in trouble. It was a terrible feeling that you can no longer trust the people you are paying to check on your mother every day. 5. The day we arrived the sink was full of disgustingly old, dirty dishes. Counters were dirty. We thought they were doing dishes when they delivered groceries. Apparently not. These were so old mold was growing on half of them. If you need or require visits to you parent/senior, Caring Senior Services serves the purpose. The visitors themselves for the most part were okay. We didn't really know them, they are many and they changed, but we trusted them in the house. Our issue ended up being with account management. Hopefully if you're hiring them you are local and can check up on them and ensure they're doing whatever you've contracted with them to do, light cleaning, groceries, etc.

My parents have been using home instead since May. Without this service my parents would be in a…read morenursing home. The cost is similar/slightly better than other companies and far more cost effective than full time care. Once we understood how beneficial the service was, it was a clear economical and lifestyle choice. We have used other services and this one is the most compassionate. The staff listens and works to match the right care giver to the person. My dad appreciates all the care for his daily needs/hygiene/meals while My mom wants companionship, support and household issues taken care of. Somehow they balance it all. They go above and beyond! I'm writing this from the Greeley Alzheimer's walk where I am so pleased to see home instead supporting this organization. Mostly I just want to say thank you to all of these amazing folks- Bruce, Lisa and everyone ... without these care givers our family would not stay afloat!

If it hadn't been for a friend that came to let my other dogs out, I never would have believed my father that "2 women came to visit him" when I had specifically told him that there would be a man there about an hour after we'd left. When I called 3 times to find out why there was a miscommunication, no one responded.

So, not only is the service unreliable, but their billing is completely screwed up…read more IF they've billed me the past few months, it's been $7.88. Suddenly last week, I get a bill via text for $17.75. I tried to call to find out why. The local person, who magically answered the phone for a change, told me to call an 888 number. I got through to a person who didn't speak enough English to explain anything. And, while I was on the call, the bill suddenly jumped to $46.14! The person in billing refused to send me to a supervisor, and eventually told me to call the local office again. I've called back the local manager 3 times since plus emailed her, to no avail. The portal is completely useless. If you press the link to more information, it just takes you to a sign up to pay online! No itemization, no history, no actual bill. I called billing again this morning and was on hold for over 40 minutes when I hung up. I then called my insurance billing and went to their portal, where I saw multiple entries for this stupid company. The person at the insurance company and I have been on hold with Lincare (the parent company) this time so far for nearly an hour! Even on the line that the insurance company uses, they are not picking up. According to insurance, I should have been paying $25.63/month based on what they submitted! What the hell?? I have other things to do today, but because the Lincare hold recording is so loud, I can't even communicated with the insurance guy now. I like the equipment they have, but hell, their billing is completely messed up. If you haven't started with a medical supply company yet, stay away from this one. They started out great, as I've said before. But whatever Lincare has done to Preferred, it's completely ruined them. Even the insurance company can't get anyone to talk to us!
