The nurses were very sweet, attentive, take their job serious. I felt as if it was their own loved one. The PT was top notch my mom was already standing up after almost not getting up in 3 months at the hospital. Everyone from admissions, case management, PT, OT, CNA, medicine nurses, nurses supervisors. I would recommend anyone who has a loved one needing a care Nursing Facility to Brentwood Healthcare. Oh, most importantly this Facility was always spotless. Thank you Marsha, Tara, Tamara, Jessica, Leslie, Victoria, Ian, Lupe, Ashley and all thr staff! Oh her roommate Irma was the sweetest! They tried to blame the transport company but that was a lie and proven as such. At discharge my husband, tagged gurney only, unable to move on his own, was lifted into a chair using a Hoyer lift, they said to take him to the medical transport van to bring him home. I was there when this happened and left so I'd be home when they arrived. I've learned since the gurney was supposed to have been moved. And they didn't take him to the transport van. He was left sitting in the chair for hours. They moved him into the rec room and simply left him there. In excruciating pain. He had multiple cancers and was coming home for Hospice. I called repeatedly asking where he was. Every time I was told he was on his way, over and over for hours. I was afraid to drive over there and not be home if he arrived. They kept saying he was in transit! I spoke to many different people. Later I learned he'd been calling out for me ... I was told that the following day by a social worker when the blame was still being put on the transport co. I had every intention of filing a law suit over this. I don't care about the money, they can't get away with this ever again. I haven't yet because he passed and I'm grieving. To be revisited. DO NOT BRING SOMEONE YOU LOVE HERE.

I'm here due severe weakness from lying down while sick. I receive OT/PT 5 days and they make it fun. I get a true work out, good food according to Dr.'s instructions. Late night healthy snack for those who fall asleep late. This is the most patient and professional staff I've seen that work 24/7 without a drop of laziness while some facilities are known for sleeping. If I ring my call button at night someone is there right away. I personally rate SMHC 6 if the system would allow me but it only goes to 5 stars. Thank you team! Vanessa Forte

My close friend's 91 year old nana fell and had to have hip surgery…read more I've come to visit her several times and she loves the care she's been getting here. She loves her nurse, the food and she's very happy. When she did research on recovery places this one came the highest rated for her insurance. Nana keeps saying she's surprised at how quiet it is here. We are very happy with the people here and the care she's getting. They all deserve recognition. The crew were wonderful and I received top notch PT and OT. I interacted with a lot of patients during Bingo. It was very refreshing. I even got to watch Monday Night football in the common area. They had many great activities. I even got a great manicure. The most pleasant surprise was the Chef. Retired military and one hell of a creative cook, especially the deserts (even though he is a 49ers fan) vs my Rams. When it was time to leave they helped me pack as I had brought way too much stuff (clothes). A special shout out to Michelle and Mark for taking such good care of me. Sorry it took so long to post but I've been working hard at outpatient PT.

The owner, administrators, nurses, aides, P.T. and O.T. staff, cleaners, food prepares, just everyone has been incredible attentive, compassionate and kind. I see that the staff get along with each other and have made friend with each other. They are happy working there and even travel long distances to work there which tells me they are treated well too. That means a lot to me! I have tears of joy thinking of how well taken care of my husband has been! They even recognized during his stay that something was wrong and perhaps he needed urgent hospital care. They insisted he be taken to the hospital...I believe they saved his life by doing that! Once in the hospital he was rushed to a further emergency surgery. When he was discharged from the hospital Pacific Post had saved his room and bed for him and all his things for him. They welcomed him back so lovingly. The food has also been good and the P.T. wonderful! They give him his meds everyday as directed, on time and correctly. Telling him exactly what it is he is taking. I would highly recommend this facility, though physically not the newest and fanciest, to anyone in need of skilled nursing care. The intake staff, "Dianne" was adamant they do not take Medicare for residential rehab, our insurance department assured her he can be enrolled as Medi-Cal into residential. "Dianne" was not open to discussion, referring to a colleague or supervisor, nothing! The indifference and callousness was appalling, not to mention the incompetence (because she clearly does not understand how insurance works). I hope and pray "Diane" from Admissions will never be in a position where she is literally dependent upon certain people to do a little extra digging for her well being, God forbid she is ever placed in a situation similar to the one she placed our patient in tonight, God forbid!!!

After having a family member reside at this facility, I would like to respectfully share some…read moreconcerns regarding our experience. While we appreciate the efforts of the staff and recognize the challenges involved in providing care and support, we encountered ongoing difficulties with communication throughout our family member's stay. Communication with the assigned case manager was often limited, and requests for updates regarding our loved one's progress and well-being were not always acknowledged or addressed in a timely manner. As family members, we relied on these updates to remain informed and reassured. The lack of consistent communication frequently left us uncertain about his status and concerned for his overall well-being. In addition, maintaining direct contact with our family member proved challenging at times. Multiple attempts were made to obtain information and establish communication, but responses were often delayed or unavailable. This created unnecessary stress and uncertainty for those of us who were actively involved in supporting his care and recovery. We also received feedback from our family member, as well as observations shared by other residents, indicating that some interactions with case management staff could have benefited from greater patience, attentiveness, and responsiveness. While we understand that staff members manage significant responsibilities, respectful and compassionate communication plays a critical role in fostering trust and supporting residents effectively. Equally important is the partnership between a facility and a resident's family. Families are often the primary source of emotional support, advocacy, and continuity of care for their loved ones. Maintaining open communication and working collaboratively with family members helps ensure the best possible outcomes for residents and strengthens the support system that contributes to their success. Family involvement should be viewed as an essential component of the care process rather than an afterthought. These comments are offered respectfully and constructively, with the hope that they may assist in enhancing communication practices, strengthening family engagement, and improving the overall experience for both residents and their loved ones.
